The scene expanded across the UK in various rave venues, which British ravers enjoyed. Drum and bass is most associated with London and Bristol. Lighter variations with a more "jungle" or "liquid" feel helped expand its audience beyond just hardcore ravers. Some producers then focused on darker, more aggressive sounds, known as darkcore or darkside hardcore, incorporating strange sounds and rearranged funk beats
