Eric Clapton helped popularize the blues in Britain in the 1960s as a member of bands like The Yardbirds and through his own work. Stevie Ray Vaughan was one of the greatest guitarists ever and helped develop a more electric "Texas Rock Blues" style in the 1980s, often performing in a cowboy costume.
