

Most horror films involve some sort of murder that
is often performed with a weapon of some sort. In
they do not stand out. Many horrors also contain
horror films the costumes that are used tend to be
dark so a monster or creature instead of a human,
this is able to be done from the use of prosthetics.


Most horror films are set in family homes which
adds a sense of terror to the person who is watching
the film. Although not every horror film is set in a
house the setting is usually a dark place where you
wouldn’t want to be.


There is a main antagonist in every horror as this
adds a story to the film and gives the main
antagonist a purpose. The main character usually
survives to the very end whilst all of his/her friends
die or get killed. Although this is a common theme it
is not seen in every horror as sometimes the
antagonist kills the whole cast including the main
character.


Conflict is the theme that most horror films are
centered around. This is because there is a villain
who does something to the protagonist or
something that affects him in a bad way which
causes him to do something about it.


Most horror films unfold in a certain order. Firstly a
threat is established within the film and then the
characters involved begin to try and defeat the
villain. The film usually ends when the villain is
defeated or all of the characters have been killed.


Sound that is used in horrors are often ambient,
background noise with a low pitch. This type of
sound adds suspense to certain scenes that need it.
