Goodwill Internal Analysis
The internal environment of any company forms the premise or basis for internal analysis. Internal
analysis actually sees manager or business leaders basing their organization s pursuit of ...market
opportunities not only on the existence of external opportunities but also on a very sound
awareness of their firm s competitive advantages arising from the firm s internal resources,
capabilities, and skills (p.148). Hence, internal analysis sees a close look being taken at the
components of a company s internal environmentwith the aim of improving its competitive edge.
The components of a company s internal environment are based on the approach taken to internal
analysis. Among the approaches used to identify and analyze the elements... Show more content on

Tangible assets describe the physical and financial means Goodwill uses to provide value to its
customers. Among the tangible assets, which characterizes Goodwill s internal environment are
3000 stores and an online auction site (Goodwill Industries, 2013, para.5). According to the store s
financial statements earned 5.17 billion dollars in revenue in 2013. Goodwill Industries reputation
is premised on the philosophy of ...a hand up, not a hand out (Goodwill Industries, 2013, para.5).
One of the unique features of Goodwill Industries is the donation aspect of the business. This is
because the company s revenue generation is premised on the generosity of the public. Another
unique feature is the overall mission and social mandate of the company. The revenue generated by
sales of donated merchandise is used to fund programs for vulnerable populations. Two
recommendations for improvement of Goodwill operations are increased publicity about the
Goodwill mission and modified staff development, which takes into account the company s

What Are The Advantages And Weaknesses Of The Minimum Cash...
You Make the Call
Swimming pool small business:
1 What are the advantages and weakness of the minimum cash balance practice?
Using a minimum cash balance approach is a safe way for a business to make sure that it always
has a cash balance in reserve. It guarantees that the business will always have a certain amount of
cash asset to fall back on. This is a very limiting and unrealistic approach to managing a business
working capital though. Cash is just one component of working capital. A business could be flush
with cash but have liabilities that exceed that balance and have a negative working capital balance.
A good business needs to think beyond a mental cash framework and think broader to include other
ramifications to the overall profitability and balance sheet stability.
2 There is a saying, if it isn t broke, don t fix it . In view of the firm s present success in paying bills
promptly, should it be encouraged to use a cash budget? Be prepared to support your answer.
The business has been profitable but has it managed its resources as well as it could have? That
is the real question here. While the business feels that it has done well and paid its bills timely
doesn t mean that that the way it handles things can t be improved upon. Incorporating some
planning and a possible use of a cash budget might allow the owner to have a better understanding
of where and how the resources of the company are being used and where they might be put to a
better use given better

Scurvy During The Age Of Scurvy
Scurvy (a vitamin C deficiency) had plagued the world for multiple centuries until actions were
finally taken in attempt to find an antidote. Scurvy is a disease which results from insufficient
intake of vitamin C and leads to the spots on the skin, spongy gums and bleeding from almost all
mucous membranes. Vitamin Cdeficiency and scurvy was hastened in the age of sail because of
the rigorous working conditions for sailors. The diet of sailors during the age of sail was obviously
the main factor in the plight of scurvy. As Vitamin
C cannot be produced internally by humans, it
must be ingested through the diet. By examining the history of vitamin C, one can fully appreciate
the advances made in its research. Surprisingly, vitamin C s importance

Computer And Network Security Incidents
Purpose Computer and network security incidents have become a fact of life for most organizations
that provide networked information technology resources including connectivity with the global
Internet. Current methods of dealing with such incidents are at best piecemeal relying on luck,
varying working practices, good will and unofficial support from a few individuals normally
engaged in central network or systems support. This approach undoubtedly leads to inefficiencies
and associated problems with respect to: * Duplicated effort * Inappropriate actions * Poor co

Outsourcing American Jobs Hurt U.s. Economy Essay
Outsourcing American Jobs Hurt U.S. Economy The dawn of the outsourcing era. Many large U.S.
corporations cultivates outsourcing faster than we can imagine. The trend that began in the late
1970 and picked up speed in the 1900s with the opening trade with China, India, and Eastern Europe
( Outsourcing: What s the true Impact ). In its broadest sense, outsourcingis simply contracting out
functions that had been done in house a longtime U.S. practice ( Globalization: Threat or
Opportunity ). Subsequently, outsourcing is an essential part of globalization; and it is the
combination of markets through the cooperation of internalization, federal, and state governments
with corporate companies to produce products on a reduce production cost, and offer services on
lower labor cost. When a U.S. manufacture product, and buys material from an intermediate supplier
from out of the country rather than producing them in house, that is what is called outsourcing.
Also, when U.S. corporationhires outside contractor out of the country to do U.S. call center
services for less labor cost that is outsourcing. When a company deals out its operational task, such
as payroll, accounting, and software operations that is outsourcing. Obviously, all of these
examples seem to benefit and in favor of the corporations. To get the clear understanding of
outsourcing for major corporation perspective, I have interviewed IKEA s U.S. Deputy Retail
Country Manager Rob Olson about outsourcing Swedish

Giving Our Felons A Chance
Giving Our Felons a Chance What if you couldn t find somewhere to live? This is an actual issue
that many Americans face every day. Not because of the lack of money, but because of their
criminal records felons to be specific. Having a criminal record, now in days is not hard, you
can be felon for something small or for something big. However, once a felon you are out of luck
with finding a place to live on your own. I think it is the smallest and most irrelevant things that
our government take into notice. The government will never see and think like a person who
grew up in poverty. If you have a criminal record and can t find a place to live to better yourself
what the next step? It can only go south from here. No one should struggle to find a place to live
and call home. I believe that there are felons out there who will never better themselves nor
would they care to. These felons don t care for a place to live or a place to call home. However,
there are many people who end up with a criminal record for a very small incident, maybe an
incident that was not their fault. There are many felons who can post bail and maybe do one day
in jail. If you can post bail in one day I m sure your crime was not life threatening. Therefore, why
can t this felon find a place to live? The reason is because any apartmentcomplex you apply for will
do a background check and will deny you. They don t care if you are doing better or if you re a
changed person they will throw you out just as

Women in Tennessee Williams A Streetcar Named Desire and...
Women in Tennessee Williams A Streetcar Named Desire and Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman
The part of Stella and Linda are both archetypal female figures in that they follow the typical
fictional role of the submissive wife and mother. In A Streetcar Named Desire, Stella DuBois
(renamed Mrs.
Stanley Kowalski) supports and forgives her husband, defending him against any criticism.
Likewise, in Death of a Salesman, Linda the only female character with any import is a meek, timid
figure around her husband. This weakness is underscored by the sentence structure and diction that
each character uses when in conflict with their husband. As both Tennessee Williams and Arthur
Miller are men, it can be seen that their female ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is possible that many men desire this sort of unconditional support and forgiveness who ever
wants to be blamed for their mistakes and behavior but it is unrealistic to show a woman who
tolerates this action even to the point that they end up hurting their husband, or another character.
Linda s blindness leads indirectly to Willy s suicide, and Stella s unwillingness to open her eyes to
Stanley s actions ends with Blanche being taken away to a mental institution.
Both of these characters also forgive their husbands in spite of their abuse, and back down during
any conflict. Stella in scene 3 is hit by
Stanley; during the poker scene he gives a loud whack of his hand on her thigh. All that Stella does
in reproach is say, That s not fun,
Stanley. During scene 8, Stanley yells at both Stella and Blanche:
What do you two think you are? A pair of queens? Stella s reaction is only to cry weakly , asserting
her inferior position to Stanley.
Linda s problem is verbal abuse. Willy continually yells at her for simply trying to talk: Will you
stop! ; Will you let me talk? ;
Don t take his side all the time, goddammit. When

needs and I think this principle is one of the most important to the client salesperson relationship.
Over the next few paragraphs I will outline Naylor s sales process from the hiring to the closing
of a sale. Naylor has an exhaustive recruitment process that they use to discover talent. They do
use tradition job postings in newspapers and on websites such as Monsters.com, but find their

The Second And Final Component Of The Flavian Dynasty
The third and final component of the Flavian dynasty is Caesar Domitianus Augustus, the self
proclaimed God and ruthless dictator who reigned from AD 81 to 96. Domitian is the youngest
son of the emperor Vespasian and Flavia Domitilla. He was the less favored son of Vespasian, his
father valued his heir to the thrown and Domitians older brother, Titus. Domitian s youth was
largely spent living in the shadows of Titus. As a child Domitian lived on rural land that his
father acquired, spending most of his time in his home on Pomegranate Street, which was later
turned into a temple of the Flavian family. Domitian spent a degraded childhood consisting of
struggles with poverty and infamy. He became accustomed to rural life as a child and when he
fled from Rome whenever possible in order to sulk in isolation and stab fireflies. After the death of
Vitellius when he was fighting a war up against Vespasian, Domitian gained the title as Ceaser.
However, Domitian only held the name as Ceaser, he appointed a colleague to handle all Judicial
decisions. In order for Domitian to gain a military reputation that would outshine his brother Titus,
he devised a pointless expedition from Gaul to Germany, which was dismissed by his father s
friends. As a result, Domitian was reprimanded and failed at gaining a good military reputation.
Domitian constantly turned to the idea of competition in order to gain power. An example of this is
shown when Domitian wanted to offer soldiers double

Essay On Path Loss Model
Several existing path loss models exist as discussed above among other ones, but the best existing
path loss model with the closest propagation exponent [36], to the measured path loss data, will be
chosen as a reference for the development of the adapted path loss model for a particular
environment. Many related research works have been done in this area.
In [37] path loss models were presented from experimental data collected in Port Harcourt South
South region of Nigeria from 10 existing microcells operating at 876MHz. The path loss models

each of the three sectors of the six (6) targets Base Transmitting Stations, Ten (10) different
Received Power measurements were conducted. Variances were observed in the measurements, at
the same distance in the different sectors for all the BTSs which signifies different levels of clutter

Story Of An Hour Short Story Essay
Short Fiction Analysis Essay: The Story of an Hour
Death awakens many emotions. In the short story The Story of an Hour written by Kate Chopin
symbolism and Irony are used to show the freedom the character (Mrs. Mallard) wants from her
husband. Mrs. Mallard is forced into an emotional roller coaster that eventually brings out her
true feelings of freedom. The story has different symbols in the meaning of freedom to and how
ironic these symbols become to Mrs. Mallard at the end of the story. For many married women
marriages can be a symbol of love, unity, and fidelity until death do us part. This story gives the
perspective that love was not there from Mrs. Mallard towards Mr. Mallard. Chopin description of
how some women think of marriage as the fulfillment in their life, while others see it as a cage is
a good example of marriage in that era. Women in that time only live confined to the home and
see little to nothing of their husbands. They spend their day taking care of the house, children,
and have a small social life. Middle class women 1890s America, women who were subjected to a
strict set of social codes that governed female...identity (Emmert 56). Mrs. Mallard mentions she
will cry again when she sees her husband s dead body. The way she describes her husband s
kindness and love towards her makes the reader believe there is some love in that marriage.

pulse while listening for a certain time period. My question is, what genre makes your pulse the
fastest?

Since music is very popular, I can watch videos of people at concerts, seeing how different songs
make people dance or nod their head. Doing this can help me get an idea of how the pace and beat
of a song can make someone s heart beat faster and want to move more to the song.
I can also look online at various music artists and see the setting of where they usually perform.
This way I can understand the type of music they play and how people act during the music. For
example, if they play at a coffee shop, it would be more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

watching would be more relaxed and have a normal heartbeat. If someone performs at a big
football field before a game, it would most likely be more fast pace song, causing the audience to
become more excited and have a faster heart beat.
Experiment
For my experiment, I would have a friend sit for me and listen to a certain genre of music for a
period of time, doing this for a couple of different kinds of songs. Each time I do this, I would
check her pulse and record it.
The independent variable in this experiment would be the music genre, I can change it, and it will

The dependent variable during my experiment is the mood that the person who is being tested on.

Meningitis Essay
In nineteenth century Geneva, a family came down with a strange disease one that had never
previously been diagnosed. In a short time, many people in their town were infected and thirty
three people were left dead. This strange disease was later determined to be meningitis. In 1806, the
United States saw its first outbreak of meningitisin Massachusetts. It was not until 1887, however,
that Professor Anton Weichselbaum was able to determine a cause of meningitis: a bacterium
called Neisseria meningitides. Penicillin was first used to combat meningitis in 1944, and in 1978,

Nesseria meningitides can be part of the normal flora of the upper part of the respiratory tract
(19). It is a pathenogenic, gram negative aerobe, which resides primarily in mucous membranes.
The shape of the bacterium is diplococci (11). Nesseria meningitides is heterotrophic and
reproduces by way of binary fission (12).
Viral meningitis is more common, but not nearly as severe (8). It is hardly ever fatal and mostly
caused by enteroviruses. Other viruses can induce a person to contract viral meningitis. These
include: mumps, herpes, measles, and varicella zoster. Even an infection from a mosquito bite
could potentially turn into a case of viral meningitis (4)! Fungal meningitis, which can also be
deadly, is mostly caused by Cryptococcus and Candida. The people affected with fungal meningitis
are mostly those who have an inadequate immune system (3). A person may not know he or she has
meningitis right away. Many symptoms are analogous to the flu. These symptoms include a stiff
neck, headache, fever, chills, nausea, light sensitivity, and possible changes in mental state (8).
Even after a person recovers from meningitis, they can still suffer from long term effects such as
brain damage, kidney damage, loss of hearing, amputations, and scarring (6). To accurately diagnose

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Internal Hiring
Firstly, internal hiring can be better explained in the situation where an employer carries out
staff s assessment to find out if among his or her current staff there is one or a few who are
adequately qualified or skilled to take on the job vacancies that need to be occupied. When a
company or a firm decides to engage in internal hiring, a current member of staff may be
reallocated new roles by being offered an internal transfer or a promotion. An internal promotion
is a process where an employer recognizes by identification of staffs that display high potential
and are performing better than others (Bauer Bender, 2004 p. 273). Ideally, job vacancies that
are filled using internal promotions are never made public hence other staffs don t get an
opportunity to make applications. Strategies of internal hiring are used when firms choose to
give their employees promotions in the firm to take up vacancies positions or even new position
in the organization. A good number of organizations even make the employees aware on a
possible vacancy in the organization by use of fliers, emails, or notice boards. This form of hiring
helps the organization retain employees who are talented with anticipation of future job
promotions. Internal hiring has both advantages and disadvantages as discussed below
(Fernandez, Abraham, 2011). Internal hiring has a considerable lower expenses and costs to an
organization as compared the long and expensive process of looking for new employees to be

Helicobacter Pylori Infection
Abstract
Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium responsible for worldwide chronic bacterial infection in
human. At least half of the world s population host H. pylori that causes various gastric
pathological outcomes with some leading to gastric cancer. The infection by this bacterium has
directly or indirectly caused an impact on economic and general well being of the people; hence,
there is an urgent need to discover diagnostic markers that could be utilized for future
development of diagnostic kits that are highly sensitive and specific. Here, we briefly review
general aspects of H. pylori infection and the diagnostic biomarkers currently used in laboratory
tests for the diagnosis of H. pylori infection with a focus on the role of microfluidic ... Show more

Besides that, protein based diagnostic kits are also available in ELISA and latex agglutination
test cards (20). Elisa Kits are the most specific and sensitive test for detection of H. pylori
infection, however, these tests are expensive and time consuming. Another lab based serological
method is immunoblotting. Immunoblotting is also performed as a lab based serological
method. These assays detect anti H. Pylori antibodies in either fecal, whole blood, serum, or
urine (20, 95 98). Most of the commercial antibody based tests for detecting H. pylori infection
use bacterial lysate or partially purified bacterial antigens. Only a few recombinant antigen based
tests have recently been introduced into the market. Due to higher sensitivity and specificity over
a single antigen, most commercial diagnostic kits apply a mixture of antigenic extract (18 20, 29,
97). However, the names of antigens used in commercial kits are usually undisclosed (Table 2).
The cost of diagnostics is also one of the important factors for developing rapid kits. To decrease the
cost, several parameters should be considered: (1) minimal use of expensive reagents, (2)
inexpensive manufacturing for mass production, (3) quality control, and (4) miniaturization. In
addition, for clinical use of medical diagnostic devices in resource limited settings, environmental

When customer s memberships are cancelled due to failure to pay their monthly dues that they

The members that actually accepted the reactivation offer did so on average about 36 months after

the payment of monthly dues for a period of future services.

Phototropism can affect plant growth because the definition of phototropism is the growth
movement of a plant induced by a light stimulus. This causes the plant to face the direction of the
light stimulus, if the plant is illuminated on one side. However, if the plant grows in dark room
or where there is uniform light, it will cause the plant to grow straight upwards. Gravitropism will
affect the plant s roots. If you change the position of the roots, the roots will start growing in the
direction. Thigmotropism which is the directional growth in response to touch. For my
experiment, I focused on phototropism. 2) What are the effects of amount of sunlight, type of
fertilizer or compost on plant growth? The effects of the amount of sunlight on my plant caused
one of my pots to grow slower 3) What factors affect seed germination? Some factors that affect
seed germination are temperature, light and moisture. Most seeds tend to germinate quicker with
the presence of water. In my experiment, Pot B did not germinate at the same time as Pot A. This
was most likely because Pot B was exposed to more sunlight causing the water to evaporate and
leaving the seeds with little

The Flea John Donne Meaning
The Flea, by John Donne, is a well known poem which even now has a bold meaning. Overall in
this poem the speaker is attempting to take the virginity of a woman he is with by using the flea
around them as a way to convince her. In the first stanza the flea has come and bit him and then
bit the woman. He says that their blood is already intertwined in lines three and four it sucked
me first, and now sucks thee,/ and in this flea our two bloods, mingled be. He goes on to say that
she should not deny him and if it not a sin for their blood to mix in the body of the flea, then it
should not be wrong for them to fornicate before marriage, as shown in lines five and six, Thou
know st that this cannot be said/ A sin, nor loss of maidenhead. In stanza two the woman that the
speaker is attempting to court using the flea as an excuse, attempts to kill the flea, yet the speaker
says not to because it contains both their blood and in a sense a part of them that was brought
together, representing their marriage , this is shown in lines twelve and thirteen this flea is you and

For example, this entire poem is an apostrophe which is when the speaker is talking to someone
who cannot respond and the reader cannot see . Personification is also a major literary device
that is presented in the poem as Donne brings the flea to life and gives it human characteristics
such as in line eight where it says And pampered swells with one blood made of two. Moving
forward, in line four the speaker makes a pun to help his case by saying And in this flea our two
bloods mingled be this is saying that their bloodlines are already mixed so they have already, in a
sense, made a child. Also there is an extended metaphor throughout the poem that their blood is life
within this flea, and this gives more justification for the

Reflection Paper On Color Culture
Red: warmth Blue: Night, calm
Orange: Evening Purple: Cold
Yellow: Fresh White: Clean, basic
Green: Soothing Black: Emptiness, bold
1) Compare your notes on color with the listings on the website for Color Culture.
It s eye opening to learn how color is interpreted around the world. As I compare my thoughts on
color to that of different cultures I am amazed at the variety of connections that are made through
this artistic aspect of life. It seems as if I have the closest connection to the psychological
interpretations of color. My thoughts on the color green for example perfectly fit with the
psychology description of the color which is: soothing, relaxing mentally and physically, helps with
depression, anxiety and nervousness. I think my connection to the psychological interpretations of
color stems from my emotional outlook on life, for example my bedroom is painted a deep blue
because its calming to me and sets the mood for rest.
2) What was the most interesting or surprising thing you discovered in the comparison?
Absolutely the most surprising thing I discovered in my comparison was just the extreme variety of
different interpretations of color. Before visiting the website, I thought color symbolism would be
for the most part universal. But what I learned is that each and every culture has its very own,
unique connections to color. The stark

The beginning of the episode will feature an introduction about Davison s early life. She was
born in Blackheath, South East London and had two sisters and a brother, swell as several step
siblings from her father s first marriage. Accompanied with a narration about her family a life
montage of photographs of London during late 19th century will be included to show the

To demonstrate the challenges Davison faced in her childhood a visual of her father s death

Why Is Hector Inevitable
The death of Hector was inevitable. After Agamemnon insulting Achilles by having his men take
Achilles prize award (King Priam s daughter), Achilles contemplated if he should take revenge on
the topic but sat on the shore line instead to think it over. While Achilles is deciding whether to
destroy Agamemnon and his people the Trojans attack the Greeks and kill a lot of Achillesmen.
This was a time I thought to myself that there was no way Achilles was going to sit back and do
nothing about the deaths of his men. After Agamemnon discovers his idea to attack Achilles
people is not worth it, he begs Achilles to participate in the war so he can kill him off himself. Led
by Hector, son of Priam, the Trojans still decide to fight after Achilles denies the invitation.

Though some may call him cruel and incapable of feelings sadness, I find that his defense
against Hector to resemble his heart that he had for his friend Patroclus. The Goddess Athena
pretends to be Hector s brother to encourage Hector to fight Achilles and stop standing behind
the wall. I think this is a very important aspect in the tale because without Athena pretending to be
Deiphobus, Hector might not have even fought him. After defeating Hector, Achilles showed no
sign of remorse and took the body into the town to show his victory off. Even though readers can
feel the fear that came from Hector as he was slowly dying, Achilles gave no mercy because he
was fighting for his people which makes him a hero in my book. Others might say Achilles is a
bad person for not allowing the body of Hector to go back to his family, but in those times the the
main purpose of ending a war was to exchange the bodies to gloat over their success. In my mind,
if Hector were to kill Achilles he would have not shown him any mercy

How Can Astrology And Horoscope Predictions Are Supposed...
Scientists examine how the world works by making observations, taking measurements, and testing
whether their ideas are supported by evidence. We pay attention to what is happening around us and
try to understand it. When we think we understand how two things relate to each other, we design
an experiment. In this paper, I m going to talk about whether astrologyand horoscope predictions
are supposed to be accurate. There are a number of people in our society who put some faith in
astrology. Astrology is the study of the movements and relative positions of celestial objects as a
means for divining information about human affairs and terrestrial events, and horoscope is based
on the Ptolemaic system that the earth is stationary, and moves around the sun in fixed patterns.
Astrology divides the sky into twelve sections, with the different sign of the zodiac based on the
mythological characteristics of the heavenly bodies (Aries, Leo, Aquarius, Cancer, Taurus, Virgo,
Libra, Pisces, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Gemini, and Scorpio). Some astrologers believe that time of

A common claim is that horoscopic astrology make the pre assumption that our mind is connected
to the universe and read important characteristics about a person. Therefore, astrologists believe
that a person s behavior, emotions, and fate were heavily influenced by the month of that person s
birth. Most people reads a prediction that something interesting would happen, they will looking
forward for that to happen, somehow they have a convenience then that event is on the way. By
this cased, they might think that the predicted of astrology was true. This may be a little harsh
because horoscopes might be of some value if they were usually right or pretty close even they are
not quite perfect, but you probably even know someone who has told you about how perfect their
horoscope matched what happened to them

What Are The Stereotypes In The Young Victoria

Victoria was a young queen of the united kingdom where she was ascended to the throne on her
18th birthday after her uncle s death, King William IV. She didn t have a normal childhood like

despited. Also Victoria hated the idea of Albert coming to her protection because he thought of
her as a woman which implies that she is weak and vulnerable, also, she thinks that behaving and
being treated as a woman Is an insult. I personally found her statement really interesting because
while she is a woman herself, she wants to be treated like a man because she was ruling a country

Egalitarianism In A Simple Heart, By Gustave Flaubert
The Enlightenment was a beginning of ideas about what the human mind was capable of. People
started thinking about what human affect this world, beside the power of god. Egalitarianism was
the buzzword of the century, and it meant the promise of fair treatment for all people, regardless
of background. Those thoughts had been expressed in the Enlightenment literature through the
desires of different fates of the lower classes for a simple life and sincere love. In spite of being a

author bring to us a contrast between two social classes. One side is Rahmat, a man from the

turning point occurred and broke that miracle, Mini s father saw the Kabuliwallah in the street

Jeane Zaino Offensive Speech And The Contingency Clause...
Lately in the United States, there is tension. Citizens do or say things that others prefer not to see
or hear. But, when it comes to professionals, such as professors at universities, making these
offensive statements it is a whole different circumstance. Some professors are offered a contract in
which they are allowed to do and say whatever they please, but others are not. Even though the
amount of tenurecontracts offered are decreasing, Jeanne Zaino, the author of Offensive Speech and
the Contingency Clause: Adjuncts who are outspoken are losing their jobs, published on the
website Inside Higher Ed., believes professors and their jobs should still be protected under the
First Amendment. Zaino references back to the story of two professors who publicly stated very
unpopular opinion. They ended up fired due to their public statements. According to Zaino, these
two should have not been fired. On the other hand, the professors should have known better because
they represent a university. These professors knew what the consequences would be after making
their statements. Besides the fact that I disagree with Jeanne Zaino, the essay is fairly written. It
is not perfect due to its poor assumptions of what the reader must already know and believe.
Although, these are key components, the author did a good job by explaining what was currently
happening and showed a decent amount of research to back up their credibility. Zaino did a decent
job writing her persuasive piece.
Zaino started off the piece bringing in background information by describing what the two
professors who lost their job said. Katherine Dettwyler from the University of Delaware would not
be allowed back to the school after her public statement. One of the University s students recently
passed away. Shortly after his passing, Katherine called him a, clueless white male and that he got
exactly what he deserved. The other professor, Lisa Durden, was fired after she stated on a national
TV show that, you white people are angry because you couldn t use your white privilege card to get
into a Black Lives Matter event. After Zanio described these current events, she transitioned into her
positron on the situation. She finds that what the

Tim Burton s Cinematic Style

Edward Scissorhands and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory may seem like very different films.
One being about a man with metal blades for hands, the other about a man who owns a chocolate
factory, but in reality the films share many similarities when it comes to cinematic style, due to the
fact Tim Burton directed both. Tim Burton has an unique style, and the ways he shows this style is
not only through the stories he creates, but also the use of lighting, and camera angles he uses in
his films. Edward Scissorhands and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory both have examples of
lighting and camera angles that create the same desired effect across both films and audiences.
Lighting can be broken down into categories, there is low key lighting, high key lighting and also
mid key lighting. In Edward Scissorhand and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, both use low key

Manufactures Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)
The Manufacturer s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), list price or recommended retail price (RPP)
of a product is the cost at which the manufacture proposes that the retailer offer the product.
Although the goal is to aid to institutionalize costs, it is not often the value the retailer use or the
value the customers are willing to pay. The retailer has the freedom to sell the products at a price
lower than the MSRP to move the product faster or they can set it higher than the MRSP to bring
in more profits if the item is selling faster than initially foreseen.
The MSRP for Allround suggested retail was $5.29, according to the PharmaSim case study, The
manufacturer s suggested retail price (MSRP) for Allround is relatively high with volume discounts
ranging from 25 40%, not including promotional allowances . Our pricing decision for the

and are better informed. Our initial retail price of $5.45 was an increase from the suggested retail
of $5.29 to adjust with inflation rate of 3.1%, which boost sales from $355.3 million to $434

authors who wrote first five books of the Bible Essay
Documentary hypothesis says that there were several authors who wrote first five books of the
Bible. In my essay I will try to discuss J, P, and E authors of Genesis, Exodus and Numbers. I must
admit that all these authors had lived after the division of the kingdom.
AUTHOR J
This author was identified as J for using word Yahweh or Jehovahfor the name of God. Also there
is an interesting theory that author J was a woman. Of course, there are statements that prove it.
First of all I want pay your attention on the fact that we are speaking about patriarchal society
where a man was a head of the family and the role of a woman was to give a birth to children. But

That s why Judah is the main character in all stories of J. For example: in Gen.37:26 27 he
proposes to sell Joseph, then in Gen.43:3 10 Judah persuades Israel to send Benjamin with him
and guarantees his safety. And one more interesting thing is that although Judah was only the
fourth son, in Gen.49:8 Israel says that his brothers will praise and bow down to him. So in such
a way he gets a birthright. Also Jerusalem and Ark of the Covenant (a sign to the people that God
is with them) are very important for J (2 Samuel 5,6).
I want to emphasize that political and religious systems were very close in that time: J never
mentioned Joshua in her passages because he is from Ephraim (Jeroboam is from Ephraim) and
in Num.25:1 5 J writes that men from Israel began to indulge in sexual immorality with Moabite
women and God said Moses to kill them. This is political decision because Moabites were enemies
of Israel.
Also J author has several trademarks . First of all, God in her passages is always anthropomorphic,
it means that all action He is doing by His hands. This is shown in creation story: Gen.2:7 LORD
God formed the man , in Gen.2:21 He took one of the man s ribs and in Gen.3:8 He was walking in
the garden in the cool of the day .
And now I d like to talk about doublets. Besides creation story, we also have two flood stories (J
says that rain lasted 40 days), two stories when Abraham says that Sarah is his sister (J

Sports As A Form Of Leisure In Sports
Introduction For many people, attending your favorite NFL team s game or watching it on
television is a form of leisure. Many people view attending and watching NFL games as a source of
leisure as free time because it is a time frame within which you can make your own personal
choices about how to spend it and a source of leisureas recreational activity because it is based on
participation in nonwork activities...it is a recreational pursuit (Russell, 2017, p. 16). Additionally,
viewing a football game provides several qualities of leisure for many people, such as pleasure,
ritual, relaxation, happiness, and freedom.
Football can also be considered leisure as a spectacle. It provides entertainment for many people,
primarily the middle class, and is played in a large stadium with many fans in attendance.
Football is such a popular leisure as a spectacle experience that the NFL accounted for 46 of the 50
most watched broadcasts last fall and in 2014, 70% of TV owners watched some NFL football on
their sets at some point (Feldman, 2016, p. 38).
Many leisure activities that people partake in are dictated by situational factors and demographics,
such as gender. This is evident in football viewership, because ...men and women differ in their
exposure patterns to mediated sports. For most televised sports (i.e. football), men outnumber
women in the viewing audience (Gantz, W and Wenner, L, 1995, p. 60).

Dykstra Crookshanks once said, The criminal justice system is set up to prosecute crimes
committed by those of lower social economic status (2018). One descriptive example is when
people wear hoodies to hide their face while committing crimes while others wear them when
due to comfort or weather conditions. When a white person wears their hood up over their face,
police officers do not grow alarmed. When a black person wears their hood up, officers play the
tactic that they are in danger. The described situation is how Trayvon Martin was killed for his
wearing his hood up. Martin, who was discussed earlier in the paper, was stalked and killed
because he had his hood up, even though he was not participating in criminal activity. George

Globalization And International Trade Theory
International trade plays a big role in every person s life. The credit should go to every economist
who has contributed to the development of international trade theory. Trade is the consequence of
the human propensity to truck, barter, and exchange one thing for another (Smith, 1776). Different
people have different propensities for trading, so do different economic periods have different
economic conditions, which require different international tradetheories. This could be the material
cause for the development of international trade theory.
Mercantilism was the dominant school of thought in Europe from the sixteenth century to the
eighteenth century. It refers to the central policy prescription that the state should act like a
merchant, augmenting the wealth of the nation by maximizing the surplus from trade with other
nations (Sandelin, 2014). It measured a country s wealth by the amount of rare metals it owns. The
country with more precious metals is better off than others. It aimed at making many exports and
few imports to get positive trading balance. Mercantilism was dominant in France and England.
Governments power were growing and they had big demand for lands at that time. This theory
could be closely related to the wars during that period. At the same time the rise of more powerful
European states with burgeoning bureaucracies, frequent dynastic wars that required larger and
more expensive armies, and more lavish court expenditures exacerbated this

leader of the Byzantine Empire by killing the Turks. While the Turks are Muslim and Pop Urban

religion.
Peter the Hermit was a French monk who created an unorganized army. His 1096 army consisted
of not only soldiers, but peasants, too. Peter and his army started the People s Crusade. Peter
pushed people to fight against the Muslims for the Holy Land.
In 1097, a powerful army was constructed by the combination of the Belgium, the German, the

Baldwin was the creator of the first Crusader State at Edessa. In August 1098, the crusaders reached

Louis VII wanted to overtake Damascus rather than defending Edessa.
King Richard tried to get control of Jerusalem for one year. He decided to form a connection with
his one and only enemy, Saladin. Richard ended up making an agreement with Saladin. Their
agreement was that Christians could be allowed to go to the Holy Land and visit their worshipping

The fourth crusade did not hold as much power behind it as the others. In 1202, the crusaders made
their way to the Holy Land lead by the French Knights. On their journey, they were side tracked by
the Venetian Lords. These lords tried to convince them to take control over the Eastern Orthodox

2. General Electric uses a multifaceted approach to help make them one of the industries leaders
in engine production. This approach includes resources both financially and managerially.
Financially General Electric has invested $50 million in new engine technology, with an
additional $1.2 billion to $1.4 billion being required to help them bring new engine designs to the
forefront. General Electric has also received a $20 million grant from NASA in order for them to

In order for the UDF project to become a successful venture, these funds are going to have to
come from the orders for the new engine. This means that the right size aircraft will have to be
ordered and built in order to make the need for the UDF engines rise. If the UDF project
succeeds then the company will be able to experience profits in the range of $600,000 per unit
once they are able to cover the initial amount required to break even. Once they start producing
the engines at a rapid rate, then they will be able to set a specific price and start turning some
real profit. The only stipulation will that they will have to stay ahead of the market and of their
competitors in order to retain the majority of the market share. If the UDF project fails then
General Electric will be out its $50 million initial investment as well as the additional $1.2
billion to $1.5 billion that it would cost to successfully implement the UDF project. Looking
from a non monetary perspective, General Electric would gain significant market share and an
increase in profitability in the area of aircraft engine development. The success of this adventure
would also allow for a broadening of its relationships in the area of aircraft engines and those that
use, sell, and develop them. If this venture were to fail, it would lose a significant chunk of the
market share as well as a big decrease in profitability in

Theme Of Human Nature In The Lottery
The Lottery Human nature is complex. Even if we do have inclinations toward violence, we also
have inclination to empathy, to cooperation, to self control (Pinker). In The Lottery , Shirley
Jackson is able to create a sense of horror with and within the characters. All of the characters show
a great deal of sadness, not only because of the ritual that they take part of, but because they have
lost all emotion partaking in the ritual. Throughout The Lottery, the plot and characters reveal how
foolish and corrupted human nature can be. From start to finish, The Lottery is set up to be
profound in a chilling, eerie mood. In the beginning, the story starts off pleasant, The morning of
June 27th was clear and sunny, with the fresh warmth of a full summer day; the flowers were
blossoming profusely and the grass was richly green (Jackson 281). By starting off like this,
Jackson is able to give the reader of a happy image and allow the reader to believe that the story will
be merry. One other reason Jackson may have started of this way was to show the blindness of...

world today, men are the superior sex. Wife draws for her husband, Mr. Summers said. Don t
you have a grown boy to do it for you, Janey? (Jackson 286). In the story itself, it shows how the
women are treated and thoroughly explain where the women are placed in the society. Yes,
women are given some respect but not as much as the men. With all of the feminist criticism,
human nature is clearly revealed to be foolish and greedy because of all of the made up rules of the

Brace Your Beard Research Paper
Brace Your Beards: Winter is Coming
To some people a beard is nothing more than a facial feature, but to others it is the ultimate form
of self expression. Even at a first glance it is easy to differentiate between a beard that is result of
careful grooming and that which stems from simply not shaving. In other words, growing a true
manly beard takes time, knowledge and no small amount of patience. Coincidently, these values are
something that a real man is supposed to possess, which is why manscaping stands as a symbol of
manliness.
So far, we talked about the commitment needed to grow a beard, but the most important thing about
it is the upkeep. This means washing your beard regularly, trimming it whenever possible and using
a wide array of quality products. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as an ultimate tip for skin
care, since there are numerous variables to take into consideration. Amongst them, the two most
important are your skin and hair type as well as the climate conditions. Because of this, you need to
pay special attention during the winter period and here are few tips that may help you out.
Identify your Skin Type
The first thing you want to do is try to identify your skin and hair type. This will help determine

The last thing you want is for your beard to get wet from snow or ice. Although having an icy
beard may look awesome and completely fit in with the overall spirit of the holiday season, its
effects on the health of your facial hair can be quite devastating. You see, when combined, the
moisture and low temperature can leave your hair quite brittle, which means that it can be prone to
breaking. Seeing how beard alone has the ability to make your winter significantly both warmer
and overall safer, when combined with a nice scarf, the effects of this can

The Pathophysiology Of Muscles
The word muscle has its origins in the Latin word musculus which means little mouse . The
terminology became popular as the movement of certain muscles, most notably biceps, was thought
to be reminiscent of a mouse moving beneath a rug. Another explanation is that at the anatomical
level, some muscles look like mice. This holds true especially for muscles with long, thin tendons
that resemble a mouse s tail.
Muscles are specialized contractile tissues responsible for motility, a feature that is a distinguishing
characteristic between the plant and animal kingdoms; and are responsible for most physiological
processes in higher animals like blood circulation, contractions of the heart, involuntary peristaltic
movements of the gut, respiration, voluntary body movements, maintenance of posture, gait and
facial expressions. How a single tissue performs such varied functions can be attributed to the
distinct mechanical, contractile, structural and electrophysiological properties that are acquired by
each muscle type during the course of development. The two broad classes of muscle fibres are
striated (cardiac and skeletal) and non striated (smooth) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Understanding Vigilante Justice
The use of vigilante justice is illegal but, at times it can be understood. Vigilante justice is
considered legal when dealing with it as self defense.. The term vigilante justice means someone
has gone outside the law to carry out a punishment for a crime. In other words vigilante justice
means that a citizen has taken justice into their own hands. One of the defining elements of
vigilantism is a response that involves violence that exceeds the legitimate use of force in self
defense. These people who take justice into their own hands are called a vigilante.
Our legal system does not permit vigilante justice (Grisham 137). Self defense, though, is the
only type of vigilante justice that is legal because it is one of the rights written in the constitution.
It is considered legal because self defense is one of the rights given to American citizens in the
Constitution. Our legal system also cannot condone men who take the law into their own hands .
This means that the government cannot over look a case of vigilante justice because it will cause
problems in our society. The legal system also cannot over look it because the society cannot have
people just running around with guns shooting other people who did them wrong. The world
would be chaos if that was allowed to happen because everyone would be taking justice into their
own hands because they are unhappy with the outcome of the case.
Most of the time the act of vigilante justice is taken because the legal system isn t

Phenomenon Of Korean Culture

broadcasting network. Each episode usually lasts an hour and is aired once or twice a week. One
of the popular terms incorporated with the advent of Korean Dramas is the term Hallyu wave .
Hallyu wave refers to a surge in the international visibility of Korean culture (Ravina, 2009, p.3).
Korean Waverefers to the cultural phenomenon in which people in the world are willing to adopt
and consume Korean popular culture (Jung, 2006). The Korean wave usually encompasses Korean
music, drama, trends, and others. It is usually through the Korean wave that there has been a steady
increase in the tourism in South Korea.
The influx of Korean Dramas in the Philippine market became a hit during the early 2000 s and
some of the game changers for the increase in the popularity of Korean Dramas can be attributed
to Lovers in Paris (2004) , Full House, Jewel in the Palace, the remake of the Taiwanese film

Analyzing Hector s Response To Andromache
Your wife is always right is a hyperbolic expression quoted by the actor Hugh Jackman. While
certainly not always the case, Hector could benefit greatly from considering this piece of advice.
Andromache offers Hector a piece of strategic advice for the war, which he brushes off and
response very harshly to. Hector s response offers a glimpse of a side of Hector that is not
previously seen in the book before. Hector s answer to Andromache is a grim and dismal outlook
of what Hector sees for the future. The advice she offers to Hector is to take the army and fight
behind the walls of Troy. Her logic is: three times the Greeks have attacked under the walls, and
three times they have failed. Fighting an open battle has proven to be disadvantageous to the
Trojans and she believes the best her strategy is the best... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Realizing Hector s opposition lies not in the semantics of the plan, but in the principles he
stands for, I would change my argument to challenge those very conventions. Since Hector
never once mentions the importance the survival of his wife and son, I would question his
loyalty to his family and his role as a father. The text shows Hector cares for his wife and
especially his son Astyanax. I would verbally confront him on the idea that it is clear he places
his own glory over his family. The nobility of condemning his wife and infant child to a life of
slavery is certainly less noble than doing whatever it takes to protect them. In fact, Hector is
jeopardizing the lives not only of his family, but of his people as well. I would ask him what
kind of leader ignores the survival of his people in pursuit of his own glory. By confronting
Hector s principles and idea of nobility, I have addressed the root of his opposition to my plan.
Even if he does not accept the argument, his basic way of life is challenged and he must question
the rationale of his

Allusions In Goblin Market
During the Victorian Age, many poets discreetly included Christian values in their works because
the time between 1850 and 1870, was a time of the greatest challenge to traditional religious belief.
Christina Rossetti worried about the Christian virtues of, faith, hope, and charity, the rest of the
world was worried about material prosperity, business, and the joy that the money they had could
buy them. In 1859 Christina Rossetti s poem, Goblin Market, there is a strong parallel to Christianity
, with it s allusions to many different biblical themes. This children s story has many hidden sexual

Internal analysis actually sees manager or business leaders basing their organization s pursuit of ...market opportunities not only on the existence of external opportunities but also on a very sound awareness of their firm s competitive advantages arising from the firm s internal resources, capabilities, and skills (p.148). Hence, internal analysis sees a close look being taken at the components of a company s internal environmentwith the aim of improving its competitive edge. One of the unique features of Goodwill Industries is the donation aspect of the business. This is because the company s revenue generation is premised on the generosity of the public. • 3. What Are The Advantages And Weaknesses Of The Minimum Cash... You Make the Call Swimming pool small business: 1 What are the advantages and weakness of the minimum cash balance practice? Using a minimum cash balance approach is a safe way for a business to make sure that it always has a cash balance in reserve. It guarantees that the business will always have a certain amount of cash asset to fall back on. This is a very limiting and unrealistic approach to managing a business working capital though. Cash is just one component of working capital. A business could be flush with cash but have liabilities that exceed that balance and have a negative working capital balance. A good business needs to think beyond a mental cash framework and think broader to include other ramifications to the overall profitability and balance sheet stability. 2 There is a saying, if it isn t broke, don t fix it . In view of the firm s present success in paying bills promptly, should it be encouraged to use a cash budget? Be prepared to support your answer. The business has been profitable but has it managed its resources as well as it could have? That is the real question here. While the business feels that it has done well and paid its bills timely doesn t mean that that the way it handles things can t be improved upon. Incorporating some planning and a possible use of a cash budget might allow the owner to have a better understanding of where and how the resources of the company are being used and where they might be put to a better use given better ... Scurvy is a disease which results from insufficient intake of vitamin C and leads to the spots on the skin, spongy gums and bleeding from almost all mucous membranes. Vitamin Cdeficiency and scurvy was hastened in the age of sail because of the rigorous working conditions for sailors. The diet of sailors during the age of sail was obviously the main factor in the plight of scurvy. As Vitamin C cannot be produced internally by humans, it must be ingested through the diet. By examining the history of vitamin C, one can fully appreciate the advances made in its research. Surprisingly, vitamin C s importance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Outsourcing American Jobs Hurt U.s. Economy Essay Outsourcing American Jobs Hurt U.S. Economy The dawn of the outsourcing era. Many large U.S. corporations cultivates outsourcing faster than we can imagine. The trend that began in the late 1970 and picked up speed in the 1900s with the opening trade with China, India, and Eastern Europe ( Outsourcing: What s the true Impact ). In its broadest sense, outsourcingis simply contracting out functions that had been done in house a longtime U.S. practice ( Globalization: Threat or Opportunity ). Subsequently, outsourcing is an essential part of globalization; and it is the combination of markets through the cooperation of internalization, federal, and state governments with corporate companies to produce products on a reduce production cost, and offer services on lower labor cost. When a U.S. manufacture product, and buys material from an intermediate supplier from out of the country rather than producing them in house, that is what is called outsourcing. Also, when U.S. corporationhires outside contractor out of the country to do U.S. call center services for less labor cost that is outsourcing. When a company deals out its operational task, such as payroll, accounting, and software operations that is outsourcing. Obviously, all of these examples seem to benefit and in favor of the corporations. To get the clear understanding of outsourcing for major corporation perspective, I have interviewed IKEA s U.S. Deputy Retail Country Manager Rob Olson about outsourcing Swedish ... • 9. Giving Our Felons A Chance Giving Our Felons a Chance What if you couldn t find somewhere to live? This is an actual issue that many Americans face every day. Not because of the lack of money, but because of their criminal records felons to be specific. Having a criminal record, now in days is not hard, you can be felon for something small or for something big. However, once a felon you are out of luck with finding a place to live on your own. I think it is the smallest and most irrelevant things that our government take into notice. The government will never see and think like a person who grew up in poverty. If you have a criminal record and can t find a place to live to better yourself what the next step? It can only go south from here. No one should struggle to find a place to live and call home. I believe that there are felons out there who will never better themselves nor would they care to. These felons don t care for a place to live or a place to call home. However, there are many people who end up with a criminal record for a very small incident, maybe an incident that was not their fault. There are many felons who can post bail and maybe do one day in jail. If you can post bail in one day I m sure your crime was not life threatening. Therefore, why can t this felon find a place to live? The reason is because any apartmentcomplex you apply for will do a background check and will deny you. They don t care if you are doing better or if you re a changed person they will throw you out just as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Women in Tennessee Williams A Streetcar Named Desire and Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman The part of Stella and Linda are both archetypal female figures in that they follow the typical fictional role of the submissive wife and mother. In A Streetcar Named Desire, Stella DuBois (renamed Mrs. Stanley Kowalski) supports and forgives her husband, defending him against any criticism. Likewise, in Death of a Salesman, Linda the only female character with any import is a meek, timid figure around her husband. This weakness is underscored by the sentence structure and diction that each character uses when in conflict with their husband. It is possible that many men desire this sort of unconditional support and forgiveness who ever wants to be blamed for their mistakes and behavior but it is unrealistic to show a woman who tolerates this action even to the point that they end up hurting their husband, or another character. Linda s blindness leads indirectly to Willy s suicide, and Stella s unwillingness to open her eyes to Stanley s actions ends with Blanche being taken away to a mental institution. Both of these characters also forgive their husbands in spite of their abuse, and back down during any conflict. Stella in scene 3 is hit by Stanley; during the poker scene he gives a loud whack of his hand on her thigh. All that Stella does in reproach is say, That s not fun, Stanley. During scene 8, Stanley yells at both Stella and Blanche: What do you two think you are? A pair of queens? Stella s reaction is only to cry weakly , asserting her inferior position to Stanley. Linda s problem is verbal abuse. Willy continually yells at her for simply trying to talk: Will you stop! ; Will you let me talk? ; Don t take his side all the time, goddammit. When ... • 12. The Second And Final Component Of The Flavian Dynasty The third and final component of the Flavian dynasty is Caesar Domitianus Augustus, the self proclaimed God and ruthless dictator who reigned from AD 81 to 96. Domitian is the youngest son of the emperor Vespasian and Flavia Domitilla. He was the less favored son of Vespasian, his father valued his heir to the thrown and Domitians older brother, Titus. Domitian s youth was largely spent living in the shadows of Titus. As a child Domitian lived on rural land that his father acquired, spending most of his time in his home on Pomegranate Street, which was later turned into a temple of the Flavian family. Domitian spent a degraded childhood consisting of struggles with poverty and infamy. He became accustomed to rural life as a child and when he fled from Rome whenever possible in order to sulk in isolation and stab fireflies. After the death of Vitellius when he was fighting a war up against Vespasian, Domitian gained the title as Ceaser. However, Domitian only held the name as Ceaser, he appointed a colleague to handle all Judicial decisions. In order for Domitian to gain a military reputation that would outshine his brother Titus, he devised a pointless expedition from Gaul to Germany, which was dismissed by his father s friends. As a result, Domitian was reprimanded and failed at gaining a good military reputation. Domitian constantly turned to the idea of competition in order to gain power. In the short story The Story of an Hour written by Kate Chopin symbolism and Irony are used to show the freedom the character (Mrs. Mallard) wants from her husband. Mrs. Mallard is forced into an emotional roller coaster that eventually brings out her true feelings of freedom. The story has different symbols in the meaning of freedom to and how ironic these symbols become to Mrs. Mallard at the end of the story. For many married women marriages can be a symbol of love, unity, and fidelity until death do us part. This story gives the perspective that love was not there from Mrs. Mallard towards Mr. Mallard. Chopin description of how some women think of marriage as the fulfillment in their life, while others see it as a cage is a good example of marriage in that era. Women in that time only live confined to the home and see little to nothing of their husbands. They spend their day taking care of the house, children, and have a small social life. What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Internal Hiring Firstly, internal hiring can be better explained in the situation where an employer carries out staff s assessment to find out if among his or her current staff there is one or a few who are adequately qualified or skilled to take on the job vacancies that need to be occupied. When a company or a firm decides to engage in internal hiring, a current member of staff may be reallocated new roles by being offered an internal transfer or a promotion. An internal promotion is a process where an employer recognizes by identification of staffs that display high potential and are performing better than others (Bauer Bender, 2004 p. 273). Ideally, job vacancies that are filled using internal promotions are never made public hence other staffs don t get an opportunity to make applications. Strategies of internal hiring are used when firms choose to give their employees promotions in the firm to take up vacancies positions or even new position in the organization. A good number of organizations even make the employees aware on a possible vacancy in the organization by use of fliers, emails, or notice boards. This form of hiring helps the organization retain employees who are talented with anticipation of future job promotions. Internal hiring has both advantages and disadvantages as discussed below (Fernandez, Abraham, 2011). First of all I want pay your attention on the fact that we are speaking about patriarchal society where a man was a head of the family and the role of a woman was to give a birth to children. But in the Bible we can find verses and even whole chapters that tell us about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That s why Judah is the main character in all stories of J. For example: in Gen.37:26 27 he proposes to sell Joseph, then in Gen.43:3 10 Judah persuades Israel to send Benjamin with him and guarantees his safety. And one more interesting thing is that although Judah was only the fourth son, in Gen.49:8 Israel says that his brothers will praise and bow down to him. So in such a way he gets a birthright. Also Jerusalem and Ark of the Covenant (a sign to the people that God is with them) are very important for J (2 Samuel 5,6). I want to emphasize that political and religious systems were very close in that time: J never mentioned Joshua in her passages because he is from Ephraim (Jeroboam is from Ephraim) and in Num.25:1 5 J writes that men from Israel began to indulge in sexual immorality with Moabite women and God said Moses to kill them. This is political decision because Moabites were enemies of Israel. Also J author has several trademarks . First of all, God in her passages is always anthropomorphic, it means that all action He is doing by His hands. This is shown in creation story: Gen.2:7 LORD God formed the man , in Gen.2:21 He took one of the man s ribs and in Gen.3:8 He was walking in the garden in the cool of the day . And now I d like to talk about doublets. Besides creation story, we also have two flood stories (J says that rain lasted 40 days), two stories when Abraham says that Sarah is his sister (J ... • 37. Sports As A Form Of Leisure In Sports Introduction For many people, attending your favorite NFL team s game or watching it on television is a form of leisure. Many people view attending and watching NFL games as a source of leisure as free time because it is a time frame within which you can make your own personal choices about how to spend it and a source of leisureas recreational activity because it is based on participation in nonwork activities...it is a recreational pursuit (Russell, 2017, p. 16). Additionally, viewing a football game provides several qualities of leisure for many people, such as pleasure, ritual, relaxation, happiness, and freedom. Football can also be considered leisure as a spectacle. It provides entertainment for many people, primarily the middle class, and is played in a large stadium with many fans in attendance. Football is such a popular leisure as a spectacle experience that the NFL accounted for 46 of the 50 most watched broadcasts last fall and in 2014, 70% of TV owners watched some NFL football on their sets at some point (Feldman, 2016, p. 38). Many leisure activities that people partake in are dictated by situational factors and demographics, such as gender. This is evident in football viewership, because ...men and women differ in their exposure patterns to mediated sports. For most televised sports (i.e. football), men outnumber women in the viewing audience (Gantz, W and Wenner, L, 1995, p. 60). Dykstra Crookshanks once said, The criminal justice system is set up to prosecute crimes committed by those of lower social economic status (2018). One descriptive example is when people wear hoodies to hide their face while committing crimes while others wear them when due to comfort or weather conditions. When a white person wears their hood up over their face, police officers do not grow alarmed. When a black person wears their hood up, officers play the tactic that they are in danger. The described situation is how Trayvon Martin was killed for his wearing his hood up. Martin, who was discussed earlier in the paper, was stalked and killed because he had his hood up, even though he was not participating in criminal activity. George Zimmerman displayed a personal experience of racial profiling, assuming Martin was a criminal because he was black and wearing his hood up. Zimmerman was doing race by attacking Martin, only because he was black. • 42. Globalization And International Trade Theory International trade plays a big role in every person s life. The credit should go to every economist who has contributed to the development of international trade theory. Trade is the consequence of the human propensity to truck, barter, and exchange one thing for another (Smith, 1776). Different people have different propensities for trading, so do different economic periods have different economic conditions, which require different international tradetheories. This could be the material cause for the development of international trade theory. Mercantilism was the dominant school of thought in Europe from the sixteenth century to the eighteenth century. It refers to the central policy prescription that the state should act like a merchant, augmenting the wealth of the nation by maximizing the surplus from trade with other nations (Sandelin, 2014). It measured a country s wealth by the amount of rare metals it owns. The country with more precious metals is better off than others. It aimed at making many exports and few imports to get positive trading balance. Mercantilism was dominant in France and England. Governments power were growing and they had big demand for lands at that time. This theory could be closely related to the wars during that period. The terminology became popular as the movement of certain muscles, most notably biceps, was thought to be reminiscent of a mouse moving beneath a rug. Another explanation is that at the anatomical level, some muscles look like mice. This holds true especially for muscles with long, thin tendons that resemble a mouse s tail. Muscles are specialized contractile tissues responsible for motility, a feature that is a distinguishing characteristic between the plant and animal kingdoms; and are responsible for most physiological processes in higher animals like blood circulation, contractions of the heart, involuntary peristaltic movements of the gut, respiration, voluntary body movements, maintenance of posture, gait and facial expressions. The term vigilante justice means someone has gone outside the law to carry out a punishment for a crime. In other words vigilante justice means that a citizen has taken justice into their own hands. One of the defining elements of vigilantism is a response that involves violence that exceeds the legitimate use of force in self defense. These people who take justice into their own hands are called a vigilante. Our legal system does not permit vigilante justice (Grisham 137). Self defense, though, is the only type of vigilante justice that is legal because it is one of the rights written in the constitution. It is considered legal because self defense is one of the rights given to American citizens in the Constitution. Our legal system also cannot condone men who take the law into their own hands . This means that the government cannot over look a case of vigilante justice because it will cause problems in our society. The legal system also cannot over look it because the society cannot have people just running around with guns shooting other people who did them wrong.
