This document provides instructions for a winter break assignment on physical traits. Students are asked to copy a chart listing common genes and physical traits into their notebooks. They are then instructed to survey ten people for each gene/trait listed and record whether the trait is expressed. The traits include tongue rolling, ear lobe attachment, hand clasping, color blindness, hitchhiker's thumb, widow's peak, and mid-digit hair. Students are told to try surveying relatives or family members.
