This research poster presentation evaluates the neuroprotective properties of Tecoma stans flower extract in a scopolamine-induced zebrafish model of amnesia. The methodology describes preparation of the methanolic extract of Tecoma stans flowers (METSF), phytochemical analysis of METSF, an acute oral toxicity study of METSF in zebrafish, and evaluation of METSF on scopolamine-induced memory impairment using novel tank and Y-maze tests. The results suggest that METSF exhibited neuroprotective effects by improving behavior and biochemical parameters in zebrafish. The conclusion is that METSF has potential as a treatment for amnesia.
