Exploring new ways to interact with the Internet of Things.
Exploring new ways to interact with the Internet of Things - In this workshop from MCE 2015 we explore new ways to interact with the internet of things. This is a hands on workshop where we build a capacitive touch sensor using a Spark Core and aluminum foil. We then use this sensor to control and LED as well as an Emberlight smart adapter.
Auto Room Lighting System
1) This project presents an automatic room light controlling system using an 8051 microcontroller and two infrared sensors that detects movement to turn lights on when someone enters and off when the last person leaves.
2) The system is designed to count the number of visitors entering and leaving to determine when to turn the lights on and off.
3) When a person enters they are detected by the outer sensor first, then the inner sensor, turning on the lights and incrementing the counter. Lights remain on and counter increments until the last person leaves.
Node wireless sensor
NODE is a small wireless sensor that connects to iOS devices via Bluetooth 4.0, allowing 6 interchangeable sensor modules to detect properties like color, gases, motion, pressure, and temperature. It has a rechargeable battery, 3-axis sensors, and is compatible with iPhone 4S or newer as well as iPads and Macbooks. NODE is designed to enable app-based sensing and allow smartphones to access new sensor technologies.
Temperature detection and control
Group members designed and implemented a temperature detection and control circuit using an Arduino, LM35 temperature sensor, LEDs, buzzer, LCD display, and DC fan motor. The LM35 sensor measures temperature and the output is displayed on the LCD. Different LEDs will illuminate according to different temperature ranges. If temperature exceeds 35 degrees, the buzzer will alert and the fan will turn on to cool down the environment. This circuit can monitor temperature in industrial applications and protect machinery from overheating.

The Raspberry Pi is a series of credit card–sized single-board computers developed in the UK by the Raspberry Pi Foundation with the intention of promoting the teaching of basic computer science in schools.
The original Raspberry Pi and Raspberry Pi 2 are manufactured in several board configurations through licensed manufacturing agreements with Newark element14 (Premier Farnell), RS Components and Egoman. These companies sell the Raspberry Pi online. Egoman produces a version for distribution solely in China and Taiwan, which can be distinguished from other Pis by their red colouring and lack of FCC/CE marks. The hardware is the same across all manufacturers.
The original Raspberry Pi is based on the Broadcom BCM2835 system on a chip (SoC), which includes an ARM1176JZF-S 700 MHz processor, VideoCore IV GPU, and was originally shipped with 256 megabytes of RAM, later upgraded (models B and B+) to 512 MB. The system has Secure Digital (SD) (models A and B) or MicroSD (models A+ and B+) sockets for boot media and persistent storage.

A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.
