This deck was part of our presentation "Putting Digital Back in the Boardroom" delivered by Adam Abrahami, Managing Director, iris Concise at Social Media Week New York 2017.
You know the story too well. You have a great idea. You sell it in and secure the budgets. Your team deliver the best campaign you’ve ever seen. Your boss asks you how it performed. You ask your team how it performed. Three weeks later you receive a report. It talks about site visits, it talks about bounce rate, it talks about likes, shares, comments. You excitedly take it to your boss.
She looks at you with a bemused look on her face…
“What does this all mean?”
You tell her that it’s beating industry benchmarks. It’s going viral. It’s trending!
“What is it doing for the business though?”
In this era of marketing transparency everyone expects to receive tangible sales information as part of your post-campaign reports. It’s not always available. How do you package up your performance metrics in a way that has resonance at a board level? How do you get your show-stopping, award-winning, best-in-class campaign the kudos it deserves? How do you make small scale activities interesting to executives?
iris Worldwide approach these situations with the help of their in-house management consultancy iris Concise. Together, this deck will be taking you through the frameworks, approaches, and strategies used to develop campaign KPIs, measurement metrics, and reports that executives not only pay attention to, but talk about.
If you’re looking to have your work get more interest internally, or find ways to present your campaign performance in a way that makes your clients look better than ever before, this workshop is for you.
This presentation will show you how to take your Product Management process, tools and team to the next level and set you up to make a huge impact in your company. And it will help you as a Product Manager, Director or Vice President to build a plan for getting your team to excellence so they deliver great results and dramatically move your career forward. All attendees will also receive a copy of two of Brian's books, Optimal Product Process and The Phenomenal Product Manager.

Finding ROI in Your Website Search Biznology WebinarMike Moran
You all spend time and money ensuring your content is optimized for Google to find you to send qualified visitors to your website. Many of you also pay Google for paid search ads to do the same thing. So, why is it that your website search facility is run by your IT group? And when your customers type some words into your website's search box, why can't they find what they are looking for?
Yes, there's technology involved, but marketers must own the messages displayed on their website--even ones shown by their search engine. If you're stumped about where you would even start to improve your website search results, this is the place to start. We'll explain how you know how big your problem is and the simple steps you can take to start correcting it right away. Whether the problem is your content or the search engine itself, you can do what is needed to begin converting visitors that are today walking away empty-handed. Remember, visitors who take the time to search on your site are more likely to buy than ones who give up more easily.
In this free 30-minute Biznology® webinar, you'll learn why search is broken, what steps you need to take, and how to persuade the people you work with to begin taking those steps. Don't settle for disappointing the visitors most interested in what you sell. Learn how to improve the ROI of your website search.

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

Agenda slide.
We're going to find out what causes G projects to fail or succeed, and hopefully see if there are any differences between corporate and academic worlds we can learn from.
Then we're going to have fun finding a memorable way to remember what we've learnt.
GAMIFICATION+ (was e-Advantage, backstory), EiR for 6 years, GamFed is about best practices, CROME is interest in staff motivation.
Means I am interesting mix of academic, best practice and commercial knowledge.
My biggest win came from just a 2 minute pitch, to a customer's customer. Stories are memorable.
I'm going to get you in groups now, to come up with a story that includes the ways to fail and then to succeed in getting to a successful gamification project.
I'll recommend a tool to use to make a memorable story.

Chip and Dan Heath, in their book Made to Stick analysed the most memorable stories, particularly urban myths, to find out what made them memorable. They boiled it down to these 6 tips:
Simplicity - Not dumbing down, but getting to the core message
Unexpected - Get attention. Violate a schema. Use curiosity.
Concrete - Paint a mental picture 'Put a man on the moon' or film pitching technique. These are concepts that already have a mental picture. Ask for 2 films and a situation. like 1 and 2 set in
Credible - Quote authorities or stats. Give more details to make it more believable (lying technique). Ask a question.
Emotive - People care about people. Ask, what's in it for me? How would this make you feel?
Story - stories make it believable and memorable. Showing the what and why of an idea.
Okay, 10 minutes to get your reasons for failure and success into a story. Then one of your group stands up and tells us the story. Best story wins a prize of course.
Now, lets hear your stories.
Great, prize goes to (perhaps popular vote by noise)...
