This document presents a study on the design of a fuzzy-PID controller for vibration attenuation in a cantilever Timoshenko beam, employing a multi-objective genetic algorithm to optimize the placement of piezoelectric sensors and actuators. It highlights the challenges engineers face in controlling vibrations in continuous structures, emphasizing the necessity for robust controllers in various industrial applications. The research incorporates finite element modeling to analyze the beam's response to external disturbances using advanced control methodologies.
