Thesis Title :Basic Mathematics Skills of the Preschoolers Enhanced by Cooking Activities

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to compare basic mathematics skills of
preschoolers before and after cooking activities. Samples were fifteen boys and girls, aged 3 - 4
year preschoolers purposively selected from the low achievers in basic mathematics skills of
the preschoolers at Mitrapap 34 School, in the frist semester of the academic year 2010. The
research instruments used in the study were Cooking Activities for 6 weeks, 3 days a week
and 30 minutes a day experiment and a Basic Mathematics Skill Test with the reliability at .85.
Mean, Standard deviation and t-test for dependent sample were used for the analysis of data.
The results revealed that after receiving Cooking Activities, the frist year
preschoolers had higher Basie Mathematics skills in total and in each dimension
including comparison, matching and counting number than before the experiment
at .01 level.
