The fuel delivery system consists of components that supply fuel to the engine from the fuel tank, including fuel lines, filters, a pump, and a carburetor or fuel injectors. The purpose is to deliver the proper volume of fuel at the correct pressure. The ignition system produces sparks in the spark plugs to ignite the fuel-air mixture. It includes a battery, ignition coil, distributor or other switching device, and spark plugs. The coil transforms the voltage to around 30,000 volts for the spark. Common ignition system types are battery ignition using a distributor, magneto ignition without a battery, and distributorless ignition which fires spark plugs directly without a distributor.
