WHAT'S LEADERSHIP?
It's a practical
skill which
involves the
ability of an
individual to
guide and lead
other
individuals,
teams or
organizations.
THE CONSTITUTIONS
THE MASONIC BELIEF
There is one God, the Father of
all men.
The Holy Bible is the Great Light
in Masonry, and the Rule and
Guide for faith and practice.
Man is immortal.
Character determines destiny.
Love of man is, next to love of
God, man’s first duty.
Prayer, communion of man with
God, is helpful.
LEADERSHIP IS CHARACTER
Character is not personality or
temperament.
What’s Character? The set of
classical human virtues:
fortitude, temperance,
prudence and justice, also
known as the Cardinal Virtues
Fortitude: to stay the course
and resist pressures of all kinds
Temperance: to subordinate
passion and fulfillment of
mission
Prudence: to make right
decisions
Justice: to give every individual
his due
VIRTUE
Virtue is a habit of the
mind, the will and the
heart, which allow us to
achieve personal
excellence and
effectiveness.
Leadership is intrinsically
linked to virtue.
Virtue creates trust.
Virtue enhances the
leader's capacity to act.
THE CONSTITUTIONS
THE MASONIC TEACHING
Masonry teaches man to practice
charity and benevolence, to
protect chastity, to respect the
ties of blood and friendship, to
adopt the principles and revere
the ordinances of religion, to
assist the feeble, guide the blind,
raise up the downtrodden,
shelter the orphan, guard the
altar, support the Government,
inculcate morality, promote
learning, love man, fear God,
implore His mercy and hope for
happiness and immortality.

CHARISMA: a spiritual power
or personal quality that gives
an individual influence or
authority over large numbers
of people.
MAGNANIMITY: the habit of
striving for great things.
Leaders are magnanimous in
their dreams, visions and sense
of mission.
HUMILITY: the habit of serving
others. Pulling no
pushing. teaching no ordering.
Inspiring no berating.
LEADERSHIP
It is not a gift which we are
endowed at birth.
We acquire it in the course of
time often after many setbacks,
failures and disappointments.
It's to see the destination,
begin the journey and leave it
to those who will continue it.
It demands:
Strength to take a risk
Humility to admit when a risk
fails.

  • 3. WHAT'S LEADERSHIP? It's a practical skill which involves the ability of an individual to guide and lead other individuals, teams or organizations.
  • 4. THE CONSTITUTIONS THE MASONIC BELIEF There is one God, the Father of all men. The Holy Bible is the Great Light in Masonry, and the Rule and Guide for faith and practice. Man is immortal. Character determines destiny. Love of man is, next to love of God, man’s first duty. Prayer, communion of man with God, is helpful.
  • 5. LEADERSHIP IS CHARACTER Character is not personality or temperament. What’s Character? The set of classical human virtues: fortitude, temperance, prudence and justice, also known as the Cardinal Virtues Fortitude: to stay the course and resist pressures of all kinds Temperance: to subordinate passion and fulfillment of mission Prudence: to make right decisions Justice: to give every individual his due
  • 6. VIRTUE Virtue is a habit of the mind, the will and the heart, which allow us to achieve personal excellence and effectiveness. Leadership is intrinsically linked to virtue. Virtue creates trust. Virtue enhances the leader's capacity to act.
  • 7. THE CONSTITUTIONS THE MASONIC TEACHING Masonry teaches man to practice charity and benevolence, to protect chastity, to respect the ties of blood and friendship, to adopt the principles and revere the ordinances of religion, to assist the feeble, guide the blind, raise up the downtrodden, shelter the orphan, guard the altar, support the Government, inculcate morality, promote learning, love man, fear God, implore His mercy and hope for happiness and immortality.
  • 9. VIRTUOS LEADERSHIP TENETS (THEOLOGICAL + CARDINAL) CHARACTER LEADER (CHARISMA + MAGNANIMITY + HUMILITY) SERVANT OF THE CRAFT
  • 10. DEFINITIONS CHARISMA: a spiritual power or personal quality that gives an individual influence or authority over large numbers of people. MAGNANIMITY: the habit of striving for great things. Leaders are magnanimous in their dreams, visions and sense of mission. HUMILITY: the habit of serving others. Pulling no pushing. teaching no ordering. Inspiring no berating.
  • 11. LEADERSHIP It is not a gift which we are endowed at birth. We acquire it in the course of time often after many setbacks, failures and disappointments. It's to see the destination, begin the journey and leave it to those who will continue it. It demands: Strength to take a risk Humility to admit when a risk fails.

  • 16. FEAR • ANXIETY (stress induced hormones: adrenaline, nor-adrenaline and cortisol) • ANXIETY increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, digestive problems, clinical depression and weak immune response to a viral infection
  • 17. OLDER BROTHERS • DON’T FEEL CONFIDENT WITH TECHNOLOGY • NO BROADBAND CONNECTION • SOCIAL ISOLATION (lack of social contact) • LONELINESS (sense of being left out and ignored)
