There is much that I like from this novel. One particular character I appreciate
is Newton Newman because he is courageous and compassionate. I have
learned so much from his example. One event which demonstrates the
epitome of these two qualities is when Newt decided to save Reggie Ratner
from the Appleton water tower.
Newt goes to “Fillmore Junior School”.The Malaysian equivalent would be
“primary school”.That means that Newt is less than 12 years old. It must have
taken a lot of courage for a child to climb a tall water tower and compassion
to go to such lengths to help a person whose cousin, Ricky Ratner, has been
harassing you.
This is why I like Newton Newman and his alter ego, Captain Nobody. I hope
that I can be as courageous and compassionate in my life.
