Analyze learners: My classroom is a group of 19 second graders: Nine boys and Ten
girls. Three children are African American, and two children are Latino.
State Objectives: On Friday, my students will recognize and describe different types of
wildlife found in all regions of the world in which we discussed. They will know what
kinds of animals are endangered and also what animals are similar to the ones in other
regions we have already discussed. They will point out countries and locations on a
globe and tell what animal lives where, what the habitat is like, and what climates are
like. We will also take time on this day to present the projects. This lesson will last an
hour and a half, and the students will have a 100% success rate.
Select Methods, Media, and Material: The media I chose for this day is a QR and
SMART Board Game.
Utilize Media and Materials: The QR is the one that takes you to the World Wildlife
Foundation website. This is just a good place to explore and look back on certain regions
they may need more refreshing on. The SMART Board game is one I found from smart
exchange, and we will use it to recap on climate and location of the regions we discussed
and also the animals and where they belong.
Require Learner Participation: The participation I require today will be from the group
project presentations. I will be checking to see if everyone does their part in presenting
and if the groups present with knowledge and confidence. Also I will be requiring
participation in playing the SMART Board game,
Evaluate: I will evaluate the weeks lesson by the group project presentations and how
thorough the information is the give, and what kind of information is presented on their
posters. Also the game will show how well they now know the regions of the world and
what wildlife resides where.
