  2. Big huge labs is an excellent resource to use for Virginia Studies. It is free to use. You have the option to purchase things from the gift center. It allows you to create several free things. You can create motivational posters, movie posters and magazine covers. With all of the photos we use in Virginia Studies, any thing you choose on this slide will be beneficial.
  3. Here are some more options that are available on the site. With the calendar, you can have the students come up with pictures to show what the Indians did during each season.
  4. There is so much to teach in Virginia Studies. How many famous people do the fourth graders have to remember? They have to know how the people look, what was the major contribution, and any famous saying. With Big Huge labs, the students can create a motivational posters of the famous people. By doing this you will allow the students to work on citing pictures correctly and stating the facts about a certain person. You could use this as an a class assignment and allow them to use the Internet, notes, or textbooks to find information about a person. Or, you could use this as a quiz or a test. If you do this as a class assignment, you can hang them around the room and use them as a daily review.
