Fraction: a part of something.

Denominator: the number on the bottom of a fraction; it tells you how
many parts to divide something into.

Numerator: the number on the top of a fraction; it tells you how many of
the fraction parts you need.

Improper fraction: a fraction in which the numerator is bigger than the
denominator.

Proper fraction: a fraction in which the numerator is smaller than the
denominator.

Equivalent fractions: fractions that contain different numbers but mean
the same thing.Multiplying or dividing the numerator or denominator of a
fraction by the same number gives an equivalent fraction.

Simplify or Cancel: divide the numerator and denominator of a fraction
by the same number.

Irreducible fraction or Lowest term: when you cannot divide the
numerator and denominator any more.
