The government has decided to announce two-day holiday for public offices and four-day
holiday for schools and colleges in the capital during the 18th SAARC Summit.
With a view to easing the movement of foreign dignitaries and avoiding traffic jams and security
threat, a cabinet meeting took a decision to this effect on Thursday.
As per the decision, Valley-based schools will remain closed on November 25-28, while
government offices will remain closed on November 26-27. The Ministry of Home Affairs had
forwarded a proposal in this regard for cabinet approval on Sunday.
