This document outlines an assignment for nursing students to foster lifelong learning and evidence-based practice. The objectives are for students to value evidence-based practice, develop scholarly writing skills, and integrate evidence into determining best clinical practices. Students will formulate a research question from clinical experience, search peer-reviewed literature on the topic, review and assess the evidence, and identify the most appropriate research method to study the issue. In a 2-3 page reflection, students will discuss how they would integrate the literature into practice considering patient preferences and clinical experience, and how this process of questioning and learning will support being a lifelong learner in the future.
