Two of the biggest issues on the global agenda are nutrition and climate change. These are equally important for India. Add to this the plight of Indian farmers and we have some tough challenges. Typically, solutions for these big issues work in silos. The Smart Foodl approach is about finding solutions that are good for you, the planet and the farmer, in unison. The first step in achieving this is to focus on diversifying staples with Smart Foods. Given that staples are often 70% of a meal and typically refined carbohydrate, hence there is little nutrition being gained, this is where we can have big impact. Millets and sorghum are excellent foods to target to diversify staples and they fit the criteria of being Smart Foods.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Executive Summary
According to the curriculum of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) described by Pakistan
Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC), every student has to spend his/her last semester for an
internship. For this purpose, I spend my last semester for the internship in Engro Foods Ltd
Area Office Ranipur from 02 Jan, 2014 to 31 March, 2014.In Engro Foods MPAS, I worked as
intern agri services officer. I provided the dairy farmers with agri services. These services
included vaccination, deworming, surf field test, wanda, Molasses and silage provision, ensiling
techniques and dairy farm consultancy. I visited the MCC (Milk Collection Center). The tasks
assigned to me were to increase the SNF %age of Model Village MCC, survey the Model
Villages, calculation of milk producing animals and their production values in villages located in
rani pur area , calculation the milk cost/kg at different villages, to convince the farmers to adopt
Modern Dairy Farm Practices, dairy farmers meeting about awareness of molasses and farmers
meeting about how to increase the milk production via adoption of Best Dairy Farming Practices
and also conduct medical camps in locality. The most important and advance practice is EMAN
(Engro Milk Automation Network) fully automatic networking system for milk transactions,
receiving, dispatch, engineering & agri(vets) alerts and employees attendance for this pos (point
of sale) machines are used which are operated with telenor sim and all the data automatically
shifted to the sahiwal plant, its very effective fast and modern system.

Survey of Model Villages
3) Conduction of dairy farmer’s awareness meeting about Molasses
I with Dr. Ubaid ullah, convinced the dairy farmer community to use Molasses as a source of
high energy and palatability in animals and increase interest of animals towards proper feed
consumption.
Molasses is a good source of carbohydrates and energy as compared to other feed ingredient. It
has good palatability and digestibility.
It is economical and our company will ensure its supply at farmer’s doorstep.
It efficiently aids in the continuity of health cycle with respect to age.
Successful results in consumption of more wheat straw having higher values of dry matter
percentage.
Comparatively keeping in view it’s all necessary aspects, it will do shift farmer’s business
towards profitability. Conduction of farmer meetings about common animal practices I had
conducted farmer meetings in different villages about the health of animals, livestock
management common issues in animal rearing practices and other precautionary measures.

Conclusion & Suggestions
Pakistan is one of the huge milk producing country but dairy in
Pakistan is not developed technically because still dairy farming is
going on in a traditional way in large area.
Still development can be made in dairy sector and dairy companies like
Engro Foods Ltd. is helpful in this regard.
