Formal Proposal For
   Documentary
     By Lily Gray
Topic
• The topic of our documentary will be tea.
• The uses of tea will be a section
• The health benefits and possible
consequences of tea will be another
  section
• The tea market and the idea of tea being
the national drink will also be a section
Name
• The name of the documentary will be “bags for
life” which is a pun on the idea of “bags of life”
the re-useable shopping bags. This is because
the teabag can be used for numerous other uses
as well as just making a cup of tea.
• Other working titles including: brewing up a
storm, think outside the cup (goes along with the
alternative uses of tea) and bags of life which
was then refined and changed to bags for life in
  the end.
Scheduling
• The documentary will be broadcast
Wednesday at 7pm on Channel 4.
• This was done to hammock Hollyoaks and
The Food Hospital, which means that we
can advertise to a larger audience and we
can also inherit the audiences from both
  programmes
Channel
• The programme will be aired on Channel 4
because Channel 4 have a specific target
audience who we wanted to aim our
  programme towards.
• It is also the best for our programme to
hammock programmes and as a variety of
  programmes and topics.
Target Audience
• The target audience of the documentary
will be females and males alike aged 16-
  30.
• This is because it is Channel 4’s target
audience as a whole channel and it is a
light hearted aimed to interest teenagers
and students who can find uses of tea
which is cheaper than cleaning products
  for example.
Interviews
• In our documentary we will interview:
• Professionals from the tea industry (Steph
from Brigettes and Paul Needham of
  Lancashire Tea)
• A hairdresser who uses tea to dye hair
• A tea leaf reader (Donna) who uses tea to
  foresee peoples futures
Interviews
• We will also interview a dietician (Clare) who can
tell us the advantages and disadvantages of
  drinking tea.
• Also members of the public will be asked
  questions about tea
• An interview will also be held with someone who
  drinks a lot of tea.
• These interviews will give us a range of angles
to come at the documentary and the topic from
