  • 26. 5. Don’t Discount Agencies Agencies can be even more powerful than brands They work with several brands and have repeat projects for good blog partners …Like BlogFrog!
  • 27. Conclusion Remember why you got into blogging in the first place! Have fun and help support your family while you’re at it!

Editor's Notes

  1. I get it, I have 1.5 kids (due in Oct with my second boy) a husband, full-time job and what I call a life. We are busy women and blog for fun or because we’re really interested in one niche. So what makes us so powerful to brands?Brands know that women are more likely to try or buy a product or service if her fellow women is talking about it. Out are the days of direct marketing – we are now in the conversational economy. Brands know this, so instead of standing by idly, they are joining into the conversation!
  2. Remember, you are making the choice of what brands you works with, what content you are exposing to your readers and how often. This works WELL in the bloggers favor!
  3. Talk about how searching for twitter and facebook links is annoying and always
  4. They are looking to you to provide them with information to help make a decision. There are a ton of opportunities for small to mid-size bloggers out there so don’t ever think you’re not good enough! Most brands like to use teams of bloggers now. Your total social media reach (twitter and facebook) can count big time!! PLENTY of ROOM for EVERYONE!
  5. Just as bloggers expect brands to communicate effectively, pay on time, respond to emails, etc, brands will expect the same thing from a blogger. You can’t ditch a campaign deliverable because your baby is sick.  It’s a perfectly humane reason but doesn’t make a brand want to use you again.  You will often work with an agencies who has to go back to the brand and explain why you didn’t do what said you would do – it makes the agency look bad.  Make the agency look like a hero and they WILL call you back. Be predictable, build a solid reputation, be a “known quantity”.
  6. We are currently working with a blog partner that has done several brand campaigns with us and learned from each one what her readers like and dislike. She also learned through trial and error
  7.  Just as bloggers want brands to have read their blogs and know their facts, do the same for brands.
  8. We value all kinds of SM reach
  9. Agencies like BlogFrog or digital agencies are always looking for new bloggers to bring to brands!
