Lesson details
o Warm up – to maximize activity time, students will jog out to practice
field. If inside, students will jog down and back 3 times.
o Fitness component – N/A
o Main content – set cones to determine where receiving line will start,
and set a cone for the quarterback about 5 yards to the left.
Set another set of cones 10 yards out for receivers to cut at,
going away from the quarterback in one line (out route), and
towards the quarterback on the other line (in route).
Students will rotate with 2 quarterbacks in line (minimize
transition time) to receiver, to back of line.
Students will then complete a flag route, and post route.
2. Assessment – since this is the first day, students will be informally assessed
by viewing and moderation of the stations.
Cool down – Students will jog in from field to change clothes for remainder
of day.
Safety precautions – be aware of surroundings in gym. Do not let students
run to the corners towards dangerous items (flag poles, volleyball poles).
Adaptations for special needs – Students will be able to participate fully.
