This document discusses font choices for different elements of a magazine layout. For the masthead, an electric blue font was chosen to contrast with the color scheme. A handwriting font was used for the cover artist's first name to create personal connection. Their last name used a faded, stamp-like effect for boldness and informality. Standard text was used for polaroid captions to unify individual photos. A handwritten font was chosen for the editor's signature to look like a real signature. Quotations on a double page spread were in a larger font than the body text to stand out against the dark background.
I had to get a front cover, contents page and a double page spread and pick out the conventions I intend to use in my magazine. Write why I liked it and that I would include it in my magazine.

2. Front Cover My mast head is ‘tric’, a shortening of electric, so I looked for an electric blue effect. This contrasts with my colour scheme which makes is stand out even more. My cover artist’s first name was written in a handwriting font, an idea which I took from a copy of NME. It creates a personal connection with readers as though it has been written by the artist. For my cover artist’s surname, I decided on a faded, stamp-like effect, the boldness and informality of which is in perfect contrast with the handwritten forename.
3. Contents Page The text that I used to label my polaroids is a standard and simple text. I decided to use this on all of my photos as it unified these very individual pictures of individual bands. For my editors name, being found at the bottom of a personal note, similar to that of a letter, so I decided on a signature/handwritten font. So that it really looks my editor has signed it.
4. Double Page Spread The quotations on the double page spread needed to be bigger than the rest of the body text. This is so that it would stand out as quotations need to do in order to set the tone of the piece. The body text was very small and white, to contrast with the large quotations and the dark background. It is a standard font used in many magazines.
