Supporting Employability through Self Development - Toolkit NGO THY
This toolkit brings a compilation of workshops
that can be used on different youth activities
on the topics of unemployment, employability,
entrepreneurship and intercultural learning.
The toolkit has been created as a result of the
intensive work by participants and trainer's
team during the Training Course and Seminar
“Supporting Employability through Self
Development”, as well as during the local level
workshops.
It is a toolkit made by participants of the project “Supporting Employability through Self
Development”.
- The participants designed and implemented workshops in small groups during the Training in
order to discover and create new tools and methods of non formal learning.
- The workshops were tested on the rest of participants, improved and prepared to be published by participants after the training course.
- Participants also tried out these workshops on local follow-up activities and included their
improvements and proposals into this toolkit.
- It serves as a manual for youth workers and youth leaders and it is free of charge.

As a follow up activity of the youth exchange “Young Entrepreneurs”, the Portuguese team developed in
Amarante a “contest of ideas” on the social business area. During 1 day, around 25 youngsters developed, in
groups, a business idea that they would implement on the same day they created it and that would allow
them to make money. The idea behind the activity was to a help the two local animal association. The
winning idea was to sell lemonade (not so innovative but efficient), through each they managed to earn
123,90€. The money was equality spited and donated in the name of the participants to representatives of
both associations.

involve all young people.
We have had an informal meeting in our organization, where we were speaking
about Erasmus+ and its opportunities. However we did it in a very unique way.
All through games, which had different aims. So our aim was to develop different
skills, such as team building, concentration, organizational, etc, through non-
formal methodology… We had created board game stations, terrace zone for
meeting and sharing. Each station had a responsible person to take care. Thus
we spread the information about the best experience learnt during the project,
skills we had learnt during the project, non-formal methodology and Erasmus+.
Everyone was happy and can’t wait to join our projects.
