Focus of the Final Paper This course focuses on identifying types of conflicts and resolving conflicts through effective communication techniques. Your Final Paper will be an eight-to ten-page paper (excluding the APA title and reference pages) that will showcase what you learned about conflict and conflict resolution. Identify a recent interpersonal, group, or organizational conflict that you were involved in and was later resolved. Select five of the topics listed below and discuss how they apply to your chosen conflict. You must use a minimum of five resources to help support your discussion of these topics. Be sure to focus on communication techniques that were used during the conflict management process. The overall project involves two parts: the advocacy action plan paper and a presentation. The paper is your Learning Outcomes Plan.
Advocacy is the act of standing up for others, of building connections, of engaging in everyday acts. These activities might occur in daily connections or on a grand stage and serve to support children, families, and professionals connected to the field. Leading through advocacy has the capacity to impact others in the present, and in a wonderful rippling effect, for many years to come.
In completing this plan you will:
Apply leadership and advocacy skills to implement and manage strategic change
Evaluate local and global policy and policy development related to specific issues in early childhood
Evaluate cultural influences on local and global policy in early childhood (especially through the lenses of stakeholders and collaborating organizations)
Demonstrate evidence-based decision making, integrating principles of equity, ethics, and social justice and advocacy
Include a minimum of 10 resources from peer-reviewed journals and six from advocacy organizations and/or recognized experts on the topic. All sources require APA-formatted citations at the end of the paper.
In Module 4 of this course, you will submit an advocacy action plan. The plan itself, due Day 1 of Week 11, requires that you select an advocacy topic you are passionate about and connect with an organization in planning the development of your plan.

EDDD 8085/EDSD 7085: Inspired Leadership, Informed Advocacy, and Improved Policy
The overall project involves two parts: the advocacy action plan paper and a presentation. The paper is your Learning Outcomes Plan.
Advocacy is the act of standing up for others, of building connections, of engaging in everyday acts. These activities might occur in daily connections or on a grand stage and serve to support children, families, and professionals connected to the field. Leading through advocacy has the capacity to impact others in the present, and in a wonderful rippling effect, for many years to come.
In completing this plan you will:
Apply leadership and advocacy skills to implement and manage strategic change
Evaluate local and global policy and policy development related to specific issues in early childhood
Evaluate cultural influences on local and global policy in early childhood (especially through the lenses of stakeholders and collaborating organizations)
Demonstrate evidence-based decision making, integrating principles of equity, ethics, and social justice and advocacy
Include a minimum of 10 resources from peer-reviewed journals and six from advocacy organizations and/or recognized experts on the topic. All sources require APA-formatted citations at the end of the paper.
In Module 4 of this course, you will submit an advocacy action plan. The plan itself, due Day 1 of Week 11, requires that you select an advocacy topic you are passionate about and connect with an organization in planning the development of your plan.
In Week 3 of this course, you will submit to your Instructor your advocacy action plan topic and your rationale for your selection. You will identify the organization and how any collaboration on the plan might occur.

one phase of the academic writing process:

Week 1: Topic Selection & Beginning Research
Select a topic from the list of approved topics that begins on page two of this document. You will be working
with the same topic for the next five weeks. Choose a topic that is interesting but be wary of topics that elicit a
strong emotional response. We will be writing an objective academic paper in third-person perspective, which
may be difficult if you feel too personally connected to the topic.
As you begin to gather research on the topic, start organizing your work into an annotated bibliography. You
will submit your annotated bibliography for grading and feedback at the end of Week 1. You will use a working
thesis statement to guide you. These items may need to be revised before you move forward.

1. Define the financial problem
It is imperative to understand the financial problem fully before jumping into a solution. Some financial problems like thinking about what to eat for breakfast, whether to take a train or drive to work and what to wear to work appear to be so simple. Moreover, the solutions to such kind of financial problems appear to have less impact on our life. If a person is facing a financial problem, he or she can apply the kipling method to define the financial problems. According to the kipling method of defining the financial problem, the problem statement of the problem should be clear. The problem state can be clear only if the six components of the kipling method. The six components include: “What is the problem?”, “Why is fixing the problem critical?”, “When did the problem arise?”, “How did the problem happen?” “Where is the problem occurring?”, “Who will the problem affect?”.
2. Develop an alternative solution to the financial problem
One of the common barriers to solving a financial problem is the relying on the previous experiences that appear to be similar to our current financial state. Perhaps, we are the creators of our poor financial habits and sometimes our decisions and activities are true reflections of our history and stereotypes. Therefore, it is imperative to learn the techniques of developing multiple alternative solutions to our financial problems. During the stage of developing the multiple solutions, the main objective is to create many solutions without considering their practicality or effectiveness. Some of the useful techniques that can be used to develop the alternative solution from the multiple possible solutions that were created include analogies, means-ends analysis, brainstorming, and divide and conquer.
3. Selection of the optimum solution to the financial problem
By selecting the optimum solution to the financial problem, it implies that the solutions that appear to be ineffective will be obviously eliminated. Before elimination, it is appropriate to develop the method for evaluation. Many factors are considered during the evaluation process. Such factors include efficacy, practicality, timelessness, expense, manageability, and risk.
4. After selecting the optimum solution to the financial problem, it is appropriate to implement the solution.
Once the best solution to the financial problem has been selected, it is high time to start taking action. For example, if a person decided to live on cash for a given period then it is high time to implement that approach. It is imperative to understand the financial problem fully before jumping into a solution. Some financial problems like thinking about what to eat for breakfast, whether to take a train or drive to work and what to wear to work appear to be so simple. Moreover, the solutions to such kind of financial problems appear to have less impact on our life. If a person is facing a financial problem, he or she can apply the kipling method to define the financial problems. According to the kipling method of defining the financial problem, the problem statement of the problem should be clear. The problem state can be clear only if the six components of the kipling method. The six components include: “What is the problem?”, “Why is fixing the problem critical?”, “When did the problem arise?”, “How did the problem happen?” “Where is the problem occurring?”, “Who will the problem affect?”.
2. Develop an alternative solution to the financial problem
One of the common barriers to solving a financial problem is the relying on the previous experiences that appear to be similar to our current financial state. Perhaps, we are the creators of our poor financial habits and sometimes our decisions and activities are true reflections of our history and stereotypes. Therefore, it is imperative to learn the techniques of developing multiple alternative solutions to our financial problems. During the stage of developing the multiple solutions, the main objective is to create many solutions without considering their practicality or effectiveness. Some of the useful techniques that can be used to develop the alternative solution from the multiple possible solutions that were created include analogies, means-ends analysis, brainstorming, and divide and conquer.
3. Selection of the optimum solution to the financial problem
By selecting the optimum solution to the financial problem, it implies that the solutions that appear to be ineffective will be obviously eliminated. Before elimination, it is appropriate to develop the method for evaluation. Many factors are considered during the evaluation process. Such factors include efficacy, practicality, timelessness, expense, manageability, and risk.

You are the primary investigator in the cases against Jones, Smith, and Thompson. As I review your reports, it appears that each of these cases has strengths and weaknesses that we should evaluate before we determine whether to file charges in the U.S. District Court, the Sedgwick County District Court for the State of Kansas, or the Wichita Municipal Court. I will summarize those strengths and weaknesses here to make sure I am reading your reports correctly. I need you to give me advice on where you think these charges should be brought.
Jones has been working for you as a confidential informant because you have evidence against him for a February 6, 2005 third possession of cocaine after convictions in 1993 and 1994. He appears to have followed the terms of his deal with you to introduce our undercover agents to his dealer. We have promised not to prosecute for any drug offenses he may commit in the presence of our undercover agent while playing the role of our informant. His assistance has enabled us to get sufficient evidence on Smith and Thompson to obtain convictions. Based on Jones’ two prior convictions for possession of cocaine, we would normally want him to go to federal court, where the maximum sentences are available. However, because of his cooperation, we could file the case in the Sedgwick County, Kansas, and district court under state law. This is done to keep us preoccupied in conflict so we ignore what is being done in front of our faces, which is politicians/media/wealthy elites are controlling the government/financial system/media to mold the public's views and what they buy. By them focusing on these secondary issues and differences, we are missing the root problem: money in politics. These legal bribes guarantee that we are not represented in legislation unless enough people oppose the current law.

Nicely said, it is amazing how money can be used to basically buy anything in the world, even our politicians. The Presidency, our Senators and Congressman, Governors, Mayor's and more. - 1. Focus of the Final Paper This course focuses on identifying types of conflicts and resolving conflicts through effective communication techniques. Your Final Paper will be an eight-to ten-page paper (excluding the APA title and reference pages) that will showcase what you learned about conflict and conflict resolution. Identify a recent interpersonal, group, or organizational conflict that you were involved in and was later resolved. Select five of the topics listed below and discuss how they apply to your chosen conflict. You must use a minimum of five resources to help support your discussion of these topics. Be sure to focus on communication techniques that were used during the conflict management process. Argue whether the resolution to this conflict was a “best practices” approach to resolving this conflict. Your paper must include an introduction paragraph that provides a high-level overview of your paper. In addition, your paper must include a strong conclusion paragraph that brings together the topics discussed. Remember not to introduce any new topics in your conclusion. STRESS AND ANGER A. Child custody battles 1) People in this situation struggle to keep positive 2) This situation involves a lot of emotions 3) In most cases, parents are unable to agree, and judges often determine such cases B. Things that can help someone stay positive 1) Being involved with the child’s school matters 2) Supporting your child 3) Taking photographs

Mediation 1) Many people report being satisfied with this process 2) Approach it with an open mind and be ready to listen 3) Stubborn and uncompromising parents believe there is only one solution to visitation and custody 4) Being open-minded helps parents brainstorm on the best solution for them and the children involved 5) One should not come with only one option 6) Understand the impact of the conflict on your child 7) Listen to your mediator’s advice and critique it B.
