This leaves less room for text on the spread itself, though the article continues onto another spread. The text is ordered into columns in the bottom right corner beneath the picture. 1. Focus Group
Tom dove is a perfect example of my focus group; he
is at the age of 23. The music he listens to is hip-hop
and rap. He is a middle class working man. He lives in
an urban area. He isn’t too fussed about politics and
doesn’t take life to serious. He is a big fan of big artists
such as jay-z, kanye west, drake and lilWayne. He has
been to previous concerts by big artists. This is great
because this magazine suits the genre of music he likes
perfectly.
Also his appearance is what you would expect a hip-
hop, rap and grime fan. He is already subscribed to the
rolling stones magazine and vibe, he prefers vibe
because vibe focus more on the rap and hip-hop, were as juxtapose to this
rolling stones does all types of music which might not appeal to him.
He has had running’s before with the law but he is fine now, he comes from a
hip-hop background, he has been listening to it since he was young, he was
born in a suburb, never had much money, but now he has money and a
comfortable living.
He has tattoos which you could associate with rap artists; he has a snap back
hat on which you see all the artists wearing, so he is a code and convention.
This is what you would expect a fan to look like.
