17/04/13 Worked on getting the shooting aspect of my game correct and finished, had a few problems with the Crosshair but once I found out how to fix it, it was quite simple to do.
Enemy is walking through objects instead of colliding with them, started trying different ways to fix this.
Added collectable item that adds a point to the score system when collided with, the enemy drops this item upon death.
19/04/13 Having some trouble with the following of the enemy, he follows the player when he reaches a certain distance etc. but glitches and falls over on sharp turns.
Fixed the problem in which the Enemy could walk through objects.
Added health to the player, he starts with 10 health and loses a point every time the enemy collides with him, I am yet to make him die/game over when it reaches 0.
24/04/13 Still having trouble with the enemy movement but is coming along now.
Currently making the enemy follow script pause on collision with the player, this takes some health of the player but also gives him time to get away/shoot the enemy.
01/05/13 Fixed enemy glitch when turning/following, added ammo, once ammo is depleted the user can press ‘R’ to reload more bullets.
03/05/13 Came across a problem with my game, Unity deleted one of my folders that contained a lot of my work including my enemy and characters, this was quite a set back but with this
happening I was able to make my enemy AI smoother and add a second gun to my Player.
Added second gun to the Character controller, this shall be a pistol with unlimited ammo.
Adding a timer to the reloading of the main gun, this will mean the player has to switch to the pistol.
07/05/13 Started on Game Environment, adding buildings, models, skyboxes etc. I decided to do this now as I can add the functionality of the spawners etc. within the environment ready
for when I add my Character and Zombie.
08/05/13 Adding damage receiver to enemy.
15/05/13 I have changed the ‘score’ sphere to a skull to enhance the look and add to the feel of the game.
I came across a few problems with adding a damage receiver to the enemies and thought it would be better to have them die after just one hit.
Added enemy spawners to the game that spawn a certain amount of enemies in waves after certain amounts of time, I placed these at different places In my map, I also removed
the ‘wander’ script from the game as I was getting errors with the enemy movement, instead I used my spawners and also placed zombies around the map that will slowly walk
towards to player.
4. 22/05/13 I have finished the game environment, adding fog, grass, more building, cars and tree’s etc.
I added ‘invisible walls’ to stop the player venturing too far from the map.
Added reload time of around 4 seconds and made the pistol bullets harder to collide with the enemies, so whilst the rifle is reloading the player can use the pistol.
Made the player die on collision with a zombie, as the damage receiver was giving me errors.
Added a ‘zoom’ scope effect to the rifle, when the player presses the right mouse button it will look down the sights of the gun, to make It easier to shoot from long distances.
23/05/13 I have had my game Q/A tested and have received feedback from people, after this I went back to my game to fix some of these errors such as the error where
the game would not end when the zombie collides with the player and would only when it was the other way round, this error was relatively easy to fix I just had
to edit the script used on the player to make it suitable for the zombie, this was a simple collision detection script that would take you to the ‘End Game’ scene
once the zombie collided with the Player.
I have started the evaluation of this project.
