1. Looking at this grid of the ‘Top
apps of 2011’ I can see that
games and social networking
apps are the top apps, but with
social networking apps usually
being free, I believe I will get a
bigger profit if I went into the
games genre.
2. For the first app I have gone for the obvious and
famous ‘angry birds’
Angry birds is the #1 paid game on the appstore
and is grossing $2.2 million per month minus
apples appstore fee.
Angry birds is well known throughout the world
and relies on this as it’s USP.
There is even angry birds merchandise out for
sale now.
Second app is fruit ninja, I have discovered
that the top grossing apps on the app store
appear to be games, this seems like it would
be an ideal genre to go into, although there
would be much more competition within this
side of the market.
3. Swift key x is a productivity app
that offers something different too
many over apps giving it a USP...
I have decided I would like my app too be unique and have a USP and feel like the
‘productivity’ section would be a good section too go into.
Astro file manager is also an app in the productivity
section, this app allows the user too easily store
and transfer files, this gives me the idea to create a
USB app.
