Florence and the Machine decided to change their planned music video for "Howl" for several reasons. Shooting at the rural village location would be inconvenient due to lack of transportation and difficult to complete before dark. It also required a large cast that would be hard to coordinate. The video had too much content and was overcomplicated, making it difficult to complete in a single shoot. They learned to simplify ideas and start early to allow enough time. Elements from the "Howl" video, like Emma's dance scene, will still be used in their new video for "Waiting All Night" by Rudimental, which features more dancing and has a vaguer message allowing more flexibility.
