FLAVIA MERCHANDISER INSPECTION REPORT
This report has been compiled by inspecting five dispenser units connected together,
and an ancillary unit. Using a visual inspection to check for defects in the appearance
and to make sure nothing is missing, in the correct place and the same colour. Then
testing the unit using a force measurer to make sure it meets the mechanical
specification set out by the customer.
Visual inspection
1. Small amount of scuffmarks on base, back and the top from where the moulding
has been taken out the tool, these are less visible than on the last batch I inspected.
2. Flavia logos on sides correct to specification and bold.
3. Screening looks bold and correct to specification.
4. There is no variation in the colour of the different parts.
5. There are small amounts of sink on the front of some of the bezel fronts.
6. The rings on the side due to the flow when injection moulding are hardly visible.
7. The product feeds smoothly through the extrusion and is easily removed.
8. The top rail assembly doesn’t remove as smoothly as normal.
9. All parts fit together well with no visible gaps.
10. There are no parts of the unit missing.
11. There are no visible defects with the ancillary unit.
12. It is easier t load a complete echelon rail than it normally is.
13. The screws that hold the left and right hand together do not sit flush.
Force measurement tests
1. See attached table for results.
2. From the results it can be seen that there has been a considerable improvement in
the force it takes to load an echelon rail and this is now well inside Four Squares
requirement of under 25 N.
3. When it came to the force needed to remove a full rail assembly when clipped, all
but one of the rails was over the required tolerance.
4. The force to remove the rail when it was unclipped was around the same as before
and still slightly over the required amount.
5. The force to remove a filter pack also stayed the same and well within the target
set with not one going over the limit.
6. The force needed to insert the rail assembly as also decreased considerably,
however it is still over the required limit
7. In conclusion overall the mechanical requirements have been improved on or the
same as before. Visually the unit is the same apart from the screws that are not
sitting flush.
