A Comprehensive Prenatal Care Program
There are many expecting mothers in our society that are very unware of what steps to take to ensure
that they maintain a healthy environment for the developing fetus. In the case of Tano and Lonita, they
are a couple of struggling immigrants who are working hard to get by. Unfortunately for them are
some resources that are not made available to them due to socioeconomic status. However, there are
many steps they can talk in order to eliminate the risks of a low birth weight, or preterm labor. One
step would be to attend a comprehensive prenatal care program that are known to improve birth
outcomes in situations such as Lonita s. Another way would be for Tano to become more involved
with Lonita and keep a strong bonded and caring relationship between them. The last solution would
be to apply for government aid programs to improve financial situations. In Lonita s situation, Tano is
making enough money to make it just above the poverty line, this makes it extremely difficult to pinch
their pockets and pay for medical examinations. To avoid a stressful nine months, it is best for them to
find a comprehensive health care program available in close proximity to them or in their area. These
programs educate expecting couples on how to stay motivated and empower their children so they
have a greater, and more successful outcome than they do. Attending these programs would inform
Lonita on the fact that when she has flu like symptoms, she should not self diagnose herself and

Summary Of March By Geraldine Brooks
March is a valuable novel written by Geraldine Brooks in 2005, which won the Pulitzer in 2006. The
author retells the story of the absent father, Mr. March, in the novel Little Women, written by Louisa
May Alcott. March is described like a sensitive man who leaves his family to join to the war as a
chaplain, facing atrocities which he must survive. Geraldine Brooks also introduces a new character
fiction created from her own imagination, not found in Little Women, who Mr. March haves some
love encounters.
When Geraldine was a girl, about 12 years old, her mother (who she considered as a world s cynics)
advised her to read the novel, Little Women and take it with a grain salt. The Little Women has
reached a great boom and it is still famous; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
March is the absent father, army chaplain, abolitionist who enlisted to the war in 1861. Louisa May

her three sisters, also his father, who was an abolitionist and teacher, too, like Mr. March, but unlike

Richard Wright s Native Son
Richard Wright s book, Native Son, is considered one of the pioneers of African American literature
within mainstream America (Ann Rayson). The book follows Bigger Thomas s journey through self
realization, while exposing the line of racism and its effects in 1930s Chicago. Yet, for an African
American narrative, the story lacks one key character, a strong woman. The women Wright includes in
his story are only there as a tool to better shape Bigger s, or another man s, character. While the lack of
any strong, female character could be based on Richard Wright s own life, his presentation of Mrs.
Thomas, Vera, Mrs. Dalton, Peggy, Mary, and Bessie all lack the characteristics required to fulfill the
strong female lead that African American literature demands. Despite of the reasoning behind
justification or condemnation for Wright s characters, when considering Wright s life it is clear that a
strong female character was missing. Past criticisms of Native Son have normalized Bigger s extreme
violence and commodification towards women, given Bigger s character. In How Bigger was Born
Wright even argues that all characters are portrayed exclusively as seen from Bigger s perspective
(Wright, xxxi). Literary critics and feminist challenge this justification based upon Wright s authority
as the author. They argue instead that If read as the negative polarity of the text, this process of male
reification and appropriation pervades the work. (France, 414). Every woman in the

What Does The Chimney Sweeper Mean
Everyone knows the quote hard work pays off. Sometimes the payoff is in money and other times it is
in experience. Tom in The Chimney Sweeper is one of those people who gets paid in experience. His
experience was an out of body dream of an angel freeing people from coffins. In The Chimney
Sweeper by William Blake, both stories use concrete imagery, a strong emotional connection, and has
an underlying symbolic theme of bible references to create a mood to the story. Although there are two
versions to The Chimney Sweeper they are different in length and the family itself. The Chimney
Sweeper uses a very specific word choice to show the concrete imagery Blake uses. ... leaping,
laughing they run (15) and wash in the river and shine in the sun (16). First the reader can see that
leaping and laughing is an alliteration. Secondly, Blake uses the adjectives to paint a picture that is
easily imagined by the reader so he doesn t lose the reader. It helps the reader become immersed in the
story. Tom can also be compared to as a Christ figure through the concrete imagery. ... Soot cannot

Not only that it s shorter but the storyline is differs from the 1789 version. Why could this be? Well,
this could be William Blake either summing the story up or he made the second story to be even

notes of woe. These words are creating a sorrowful beginning to the story. Also, In the 1789 version
we learn that Tom s mom died when he was young and his father gave him (Tom) away. In the 1794
version we know that both his parents are more important to the story because they are talked about

Advantages Of Traditional Poe

Abstract
Power over Ethernet or PoE is a technology that dispense electrical power and data transmission to
devices, such as IP cameras or phones, access points wireless or bluetooth. PoE devices that are placed
in remote locations stop not only the need for power outlets, but also cut down the installation costs
and enable the network devices to be adaptable in that region. Consumers and vendors of IP phones
were either supplying local power through an AC (alternating current) electrical outlet or using non
standards based proprietary solutions to provide inline powering. The release of 802.3af came ... Show

Since PoE is used by terminating equipment it consumes little power.
Besides being used in IP telephones, cameras or wireless transmission, PoE can assure a better safety
of a network while it operates as an inessential power supply. PoE makes the network planning
flexible and independent of switch cabinets and sockets. For a better security, it is necessary to shut
down all the PDs that are not in use or not necessary in the office or where are being used. Also with
the popularity of the PoE. it is very easy to use PoE with a variety of other devices.
On one hand, we have Power over Ethernet PSE (Power Supplying Equipment) which supplies PoE
PD devices with electricity via the data cable and is also a source of voltage. It may use either End
Span or Mid Span. The end span method basically means that there is a hardware device such as a
PoE capable switch at the beginning of the twisted pair cable. A PoE capable switch simply defines a
switch that has the capability of transmitting DC voltage over the twisted pair cable along with data.
Figure 1: Power supplied from LAN equipment with end span PSE
The other method, known as Mid span, provides power on the twisted pair cable at some point after
the switch/router but before the device you are powering. An example of a Mid span device would be
something like a Single Port PoE injector (Planet3 Wireless, 2005). A Single Port PoE injector has a
port for the incoming Ethernet cable, a cord for the

Theory X And Theory Of The Open System View
Introduction
Waddell, Jones and George (2013, p. 4) define management as, planning, organizing, leading
and controlling of human and other resources to achieve organizational goals effectively and
efficiently. For establishing efficient and effective organization, many management practices
have developed gradually to arrange with the political, economic and cultural forces of their
time. This paper critically evaluates the theory established by McGregor i.e. Theory X and
Theory Y and also theory of The Open System View. The paper will initially introduce to the

37).
According to Theory X, the only method to motivate people to work are self interest or coercive
methods (Fisher, 2009, p. 356).
According to Theory Y, Management is responsible for organizing humans, machines and
materials to achieve desired results (Halepota, 2005, p. 16) The difference in Theory Y is that
workers are not lazy and they have a hope of achieving something. In this theory workers have
prospective to achieve something and be motivated and are also given freedom to work in their
own way and express their own ideas to dedicate in the success of organization (Halepota, 2005,
p. 16). It is natural for human beings to put effort into work. Employees like to use their
imagination and creativity to make decisions and in solving problems of organization.(Kermally,
2005, p. 38). When Theory Y is applied, employees attain self determination and ample of
opportunities which results in close relationship and mutual trust of employees and
managers.(Sait, Faruk, Onur 2014). Managers are not always idle. They spend time with people,
are engaged in one or the other stuff of organization and are engaged with people who form unity
(Brunsson, 2008). Training and sharing information are important for higher performance of an

According to Caroll Brown (2011), medication errors occur in every health care setting, including the
physician s office. It is estimated that there are two hundred and eighteen thounsand, medication
related deaths annually, with a total cost of approximately one hundred and seventy seven million.
Events related to medications are the third leading cause of death in the United States after heart
disease and cancer (Caroll Brown, 2011). The first steps of prescribing and administration are where
error is mostly the highest in hospitals. Medication errors can include the following: wrong dosage,
wrong route, wrong frequency (of rate for IV), wrong medication wrong choice of medication for
condition, wrong time, wrong administration technique, wrong patient missed dose, known drug
interaction, known allergy to drug, wrong reason (Caroll Nakuruma,2011). Ideally, the organization

Before Emma Lazarus created the poem: The New Colossus the American people were unmoved and
uninterested in any aspect of the statue donated by France. After her poem was published American
began to see the statue as a Mother of Exiles and a symbol of freedom. The statue of liberty was
donated by the French after the destructive reign of Napoleon II. It was in the donors mindset to

Frankenstein And The Subversion Of The Masculine Voice
The Importance of Women
Mary Shelley was a strong advocate for women s rights so it is surprising that her first novel consists
of 3 male narrators. James P. Davis tries to answer this question as he hypothesised different theories
surrounding the lack of strong females or females at all for that matter in his essay Frankenstein and
the Subversion of the Masculine Voice.
The masculine point of view from which this story is told makes the women mentioned in this story
static characters. Furthermore it is suggested by Davis that both Frankenstein and his monster have
harsh feelings regarding women. Though it seems that both Frankenstein and the monster long for a
woman or love a women our view of that woman and the men s view on those women ... Show more

Frankenstein fears woman by explaining how he refuses to create his monster a female friend because
he assumes females capacity of evil is greater than males. Davis also concludes that Frankenstein fears
the female s ability create new life saying, The possibility that his female monster might reproduce
moves Victor to destroy her (Davis 311). Not only Frankenstein has harsh assumptions about women
but the monster does as well. After the monster kills William he frames Justine for the murder saying,
Should she Justine awake, and see me, and curse me, and denounce the murderer? Thus she would
assuredly act, if her darkened eyes opened, and she beheld me. The thought was madness; it stirred the
fiend within me not I, but shh shall suffer: the murder I have committed because I am for ever robbed
of all that she could give me, she shall atone. The crime bad its source in her: be hers the punishment!
(Shelley 143 44)
Davis interprets this quote as saying that the monster assumes that Justine is a bad person and deserves
this punishment for what he has done. The monster assumes that women are there to provide for him
and he assumes that she is unwilling to do so even though she has not yet been tested in that position.

Prayer Definition Essay
How easy is it to become disheartened or weary about praying? If we re really honest with ourselves,
it s pretty easy at times, especially when our prayers seem to go unanswered. How about distractions?
How easy is it to allow distractions to interrupt your prayers? How frustrating is it when those
unexpected thoughts pop into your head while praying? On average, how long can you pray before
these distractions take effect? If you re fortunate, it may be several minutes before things we forgot to
do or need to do just pop into our mind. We catch ourselves and go right back into our prayers only to
be distracted again, at some later time. Do you think this happens with every Christian? How about

Take a moment to think about ten of them. If I asked you, where in the world is the hardest place to
pray, where would you say? The hardest place would be here in the United States. Why? Awesome
question! As Americans, we ve become so caught up in a culture of always doing something that it s
hard to slow down and pray for any length of time. It feels uncomfortable or feels like we re wasting
valuable time. Our society has placed such a high premium on accomplishments or on being
productive that prayer sometimes goes against the grain of our society. Do we see any
accomplishments in prayer? Are we being productive when we pray? Prayer is nothing more than
talking to God, but how many of us feel like it s hopeless or useless? We pray for healing only to
continue in sickness. We ask for victory over sin only to find defeat. What good does it do to pray?
Another problem with the American culture is our attention span. When we re not working, we re
watching television, playing video games, surfing the Internet(s) or on our smartphones. The next time
you go to a restaurant or to the movie theaters, look around to see how many people are on their
phones. Being still and quiet is not in the American culture. Sin is another thing which keeps us from
praying as we ought to. In William Shakespeare s Hamlet Act III, scene iii, Hamlet sneaks in to kill
King Claudius, who killed his own brother and Hamlet s father. At the end of the scene, Hamlet
realized he cannot kill Claudius and sneaks back out of the room and we hear Claudius say, My words
fly up, my thoughts remain low. Words without thought never to heaven go. Claudius tried to repent
for committing murder, but he couldn t. We see him kneeling in prayer, but he couldn t feel any sense
of comfort or mercy from God. There s a realization that because he had no intentions of confessing to
the crime or even changing his life, his words were empty

How Music Has Impacted My Life Essay
Music has always played an important role in my life. Even as a student of film, I tell stories inspired
by song lyrics, for the words, rhythms, and instruments of rock music have impacted my life to an
unimaginable extent. Whenever I edit video, the underscore is vital. When I write a script, there s a
poetic sound, a lyricism to the dialogue. I would not even be here in Los Angeles if not for artists such
as Courtney Love and Jared Leto, who cross boundaries between music and film. In particular, Jared
Leto s career is something to behold. An award winning actor, director, musician, and pure artist, Leto
epitomizes my creative values: never settle, and don t be afraid to be dedicated to whatever you want
to do.
Origins
Born in Louisiana, Jared Leto attended University of the Arts in Philadelphia to pursue painting.
However, he eventually dropped out and studied acting in NYC. He then transitioned to California to
begin his career music ( Jared Leto: Biography ). His big break in acting came from the short lived,
yet critically lauded TV series, My So Called Life (1994). Four years later, he became lead singer for
his rock band, 30 Seconds to Mars. As the years progressed, Leto found success in both artistic
avenues.
Leto s last film of the 2000s, Mr. Nobody (2009), was met with critical accolades, but marked the
beginning of his hiatus from film. In 2013, Leto returned in full swing with his supporting role in
Dallas Buyer s Club (2013). A commercial and critical

The Grass Is Always Greener In Carl Sandburg s Grass
The Grass Is Always Greener (Over the Cemetery): the Use of Proper Nouns, the Imperative Tense,
and Tension Between the First and Third Person in Carl Sandburg s Grass When a battle is over, the
field on which it was fought must look like a wound on the face of the earth: the blood soaked ground
strewn with bodies, lying in mud churned by thousands of marching feet. Eventually, grass grows over
the battlefield, hiding the evidence of the horrors that took place there under a blanket of green. In
years to come, the area appears so unremarkable that passersby have no indication of what took place
there. However, without remembrance, what is to stop history from continually repeating itself? Carl
Sandburg, in his poem Grass, uses the imperative tense, proper nouns, and tension between the first
person and the third person points of view to show that humanity repeats its mistakes because nature
always conceals them. Sandburg uses proper nouns throughout the poem to emphasize the reality of
wars fought and lives lost. By calling battles by their proper names, in ominous, measured sentences,
he is peeling back, so to speak, the layer of grass concealing them. This technique makes it impossible
to gloss over the atrocities that were committed. When he says, Pile the bodies high at Austerlitz and
Waterloo (Line 1), And pile them high at Ypres and Verdun (5), he is naming specific places, where
individuals died at a certain time. Readers are unable to remove

Osteopathic medicine was founded in the late 1800s in Kirksville, Missouri, by a medical doctor who
recognized that the medical practices of the day often caused more harm than good. He focused on
developing a system of medical care that would promote the body s innate ability to heal itself and
called this system of medicine osteopathy, now known as osteopathic medicine. This leads us back to
business, now it seems to me that you re suffering from swelling and bruising around your phalanges.
And you said that you are going through pain on your fingertips, which are not very normal even
though many people believe so because the bones that we have in our hands are small, but a fractured
finger is not a minor injury. The bones in a normal hand line up exactly with each other, which doesn t
help the situation. So when you have a fractured finger bone, it may cause your whole hand to be out
of alignment and without treatment, your fractured finger will probably stay stiff and painful, which
seems like what you re dealing with unfortunately. So from the symptoms that you re dealing with I
am going to assume that you re dealing a fracture in your phalanges, which is caused by several
things. Our hand can be injured while working with tools such as a saw, or fast moving objects that
would hit your hand and or slamming our hand in a door. So if you don t mind me asking, have you

Developmental Disabilities And The Most Common Motor...
It s always exciting to see a baby blowing you a kiss and giving you a wave bye bye. Actions like
these make our hearts melt. These actions are known as developmental milestones, which are achieved
in the way children play, learn, speak, behave, and move. All children develop at their own pace; one
might learn to walk before they re a year old and another might learn to walk when they re a little
older. As exciting as it is to see a baby walk for the first time, it doesn t always happen. It isn t rare for
a child to have a developmental disorder. Developmental disorders are not commonly spoken about,
however one in six children have one or more developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy being the
second most common (Facts About Developmental Disabilities) and the most common motor
disability in childhood (CITATION). The truth of the matter is, everyone is most likely going to
encounter someone who has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, or might even have a child with this
developmental disorder and it s important to be aware and informed on the most effective ways to help
treat it. The first step in becoming informed is knowing what exactly a developmental disorder is.
Developmental disorders are a group of conditions due to an impairment in physical, learning,
language, or behavior areas. These conditions typically begin during the developmental period and last
throughout a person s entire life. Cerebral palsy, the second most common developmental disorder,

Comparing The Federal Reserve And Monetary Policy
The Federal Reserve and Monetary Policy The Federal Reserve has three tools to help maintain and
make changes within money supply and policies. The first tool and most popular tool is open market
operations. The Reserve uses this instrument to regulate the rate of federal funds within the system,
which is merely the rate in which banks borrow reserves from other banks. With this tool, they can
alter the interest rates and amount of money on the open market. Therefore, the Reserve can

Wage Slavery Research Paper
When people hear the word slavery, they picture chains, shackles, and labor harder than any man
woman or child should ever have to endure. Slavery can be in many more forms than this however.
Many men, women, and children were slaves during the 19th and early 20th century, this type of
slavery they were in was wage slavery. Wage slavery is a person completely dependens on income
from employment. Many men were forced to work hard long hours, women were also expected to
work to raise a family, lastly children were even sent to work at age 9 because it was profitable.
Though none of these people wore chains and shackles, they were indeed under wage slavery.

An organism as complex as the species Homo sapiens is subjected to a host of pathogenic microbes.
These can be viruses, infectious proteins (known as prions), or other lifeforms such as bacteria,

negative sense RNA genome which is transmitted via the respiratory route (Laksono, et. al). Having
been first written of more than a century ago, medical understanding of the virus has advanced

Measles has been on the rise due to a growing concern over a proposed link between the MMR

Why I Chose Law For Law School At The China University Of...
When I was a child, I was wandering what I would become when I grow up, and I thought I must

want to become. As time going by, I chose law as my major and future career as expected. And now
that I m in my senior year of Law school at the China University of Political Science and Law, I
gradually become aware that in our lives, there are always aspirations we cannot realize in the end,
and what I could do is to try my best in everything and leave no regret for future. Besides, as I studied
further into law such an exquisite and delicate science, I also realized that achieving success is no
more the only motivation of studying it, my interests became the main reason. And I know that what I
have learnt is far less enough. Thus, a further study of law is essential for me to understand more and

communication meeting with managers and showing empathy to their concerns. Encouraging
employees to share their feelings will help them get through the first stage of the Bridges Transition
Model. The remaining management team should understand the current state of the organization and
be on board to help motivate employees to accept the new changes. The strategy for meeting these

The Leap
In James Dickey s poem The Leap, he tells about his memory of a thin/and muscular, wide mouthed,
eager to prove (21 22) girl, Jane MacNaughton. He talks about how she goes from being, the fastest
runner in the seventh grade , (3) to a Mother of four. (28) Jane who spurned the earth, as a seventh
grade runner, left behind the slow footed yokels (44) in her cloud of dust. The playground champion is
finally overcome by reality. She returns to dust as a victim of the eternal process .

He does not go into detail to describe the second leap. This may be because he knows more about her
in her childhood, or it may be because he does not want to know about her death at length. When she
commits suicide, he knows she is not the same person that he once knew; she is now a, mother of four.
(28) She has changed, but it has not been for the better because she may have had a hard life. One day
she was unable to handle the pressures of her life any longer and committed suicide. He says, as he
holds the newspaper containing the article of her suicide, that I held / without trembling a picture of
her lying cradled / in the papery steel as though lying in the grass. (30 32) It is not that he does not
care about her death; he just cannot face her death and this is why he does not tremble. She is hardly
the same person to him, and so he is able to save the image of her first leap. He will always use this
one image as her identity, full and alive, to him.
These two leaps are different, but are used to represent the same idea. Jane leapt in order to express
her sense of freedom in the first leap. She leapt with strength; she showed to everyone around her that
she was very alive, free and capable. Yet, the second leap was a cry for help, a searching for freedom.
By taking this second leap she was able to become free by death. Her life was hard by, some boy who

The Importance Of Education In Public Education
Education in schools today is very important to a student s success. From reading a particular passage,
I read about a particular student who was denied as school valedictorian for the simple fact that she
was black. To fully understand what role integration plays, or should play in public education today,
there are some key components that one must understand. The first component addresses how much it
really matters to see that schools are pretty much segregated as they were in 1968. To my intellect, it s
colossally noteworthy. In case you think approximately the two principal purposes of open instruction,
it s to advance social portability so that a child, no matter the circumstances, can, through a great
instruction, go where their abilities would take them. The reason is to reinforce our popular
government by making cleverly and open minded citizens, and related to that, to construct social
cohesion. We are a country where individuals come from all corners of the world so it s imperative
that the open schools be a place where children learn what it implies to be an American, and learn the
values of a majority rule government, one of which is that we re all social. Isolation by race and by
financial status essentially undermines both of those goals. To my mind this issue of segregation,
which gets talked about very little, is central to undermining the twin rationales for public schooling in
the first place. The second component addresses race. Parents of children argue

What Is Symbolism In Temptation Of Saint Hilarion
The feeling of temptation is an emotion most people have felt in their lives. Temptation has been
illustrated in Christian religion since the beginning with Adam and Eve. Portraying the emotion of
temptation has varied from artist to artist, in all; the viewer will continuously understand the
awareness of the feeling. The oil painting Temptation of Saint Hilarion by Octave Tassaert was painted
around 18571. When examining this art for the first time, the viewer is thrown into a world of dark
colors and emotion. As our eyes grow accustomed to the image, we start to understand the message

Things Fall Apart
A nation s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people ( Mahatma Gandhi Quotes 1). The
culture of a certain tribe, clan or group of people is not found written anywhere but it is found in the
knowledge of its people because that is what they ve grown up to learn. To them that is the only way
they know. In Chinua Achebe s book, Things Fall Apart, the people of Umuofia keep their culture
close to what it was when it was discovered by their ancestors. The only changes that they made were
made to fit the community as time had changed since their ancestors had been alive. However, their
beliefs and morals remained relatively the same because that is what they have been taught for as long
as the Ibo tribe has been around. These beliefs are all they know and they all live by them. Throughout
Achebe s piece, it is evident that he wants to emphasize the distinct Ibo culture in this book. In Things
Fall Apart, Achebe stresses the importance of culture to a community by using cultural aspects such
as, the Ibo language, their religion, and the traditions of the Ibo people. Although most of this book is
in english, Achebe uses the Ibo language to keep the identity of the culture. By using this language it
shows that the people of this tribe use these words to create a sense of community between the people.
All of the words that are in the Ibo language have a definition specific to the beliefs of their culture.
Most of the men of the tribe had a title of some kind. If

Truman Made the Right Choice
President Harry Truman s use of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan during the
Second World War is the most controversial decision in history. While it was an undoubtedly difficult
decision, it was indeed necessary in order to end this six year war that had ravaged the world. While
many critics argue that the bomb was used primarily as an act of vengeance toward Japan, simplifying
such a crucial moment in human history downplays the very real threat Japan posed to the United
States. While avoiding strained relations with the other Allied countries, Truman had to assess the

The response of the panel to which the concern was sent was that the use of the bomb would be an

on the issue of its use, all believed it was necessary to control this new technology through
international cooperation. Due to the aforementioned increasing tensions between the two emerging
superpowers, an issue of great concern was if, how and when to approach the Soviets with the news of
the Manhattan Project. In spite of the differences between the Soviets and the United States, by
Truman s main concern was keeping unity amongst the Big Three , realizing that ending the war
depended on the support of both Britain and the Soviet Union. The Interim Committee unanimously
agreed that Truman should inform of the development of the weapon and our plans to use it against
the enemy. They did not advise giving the Soviets specific details of the project, only informing them

Rhetorical Devices In The Convergence Of The Twain By...
The construction of the Titanic started on March 31, 1909 and finished on May 31, 1911. During the
process, constructors made sure to make the Titanic as attractive as possible, accessorizing it with
many iconic features such as the ship s grand staircase and its promenade deck. Many people at the
time believed that the Titanic would never sink, therefore naming it the Unsinkable ship after it has set
sail. Unfortunately, the unsinkable ship collided with an iceberg on April 14, 1912, claiming the lives
of 1,500 passengers. As a result, the Titanic broke into two and sunk, leaving behind its legacy.
Thomas Hardy provides a poem that acknowledges the sinking of the Titanic. Unlike the many similar
reactions of grief and sorrow that the people had, Hardy approaches the event differently. In the poem,
The Convergence of the Twain, Thomas Hardy uses a variety of rhetorical devices to express his
disdain for the vanity of humans during the first half of the poem and to explain that fate s work
resulted in the outcome of the Titanic during the second half of the poem.
Throughout the first five stanzas of the poem, Hardy utilizes allusion, juxtaposition, and alliteration to
emphasize the idea that the excessive pride of humans is useless and it has led to the downfall of the
Titanic. Therefore, Hardy provides insight on the vanity of those that built the ship. He describes the
people as the Pride of Life. The description alludes to the book of John in the Christian Bible.

  • 2. A Comprehensive Prenatal Care Program There are many expecting mothers in our society that are very unware of what steps to take to ensure that they maintain a healthy environment for the developing fetus. In the case of Tano and Lonita, they are a couple of struggling immigrants who are working hard to get by. Unfortunately for them are some resources that are not made available to them due to socioeconomic status. However, there are many steps they can talk in order to eliminate the risks of a low birth weight, or preterm labor. One step would be to attend a comprehensive prenatal care program that are known to improve birth outcomes in situations such as Lonita s. Another way would be for Tano to become more involved with Lonita and keep a strong bonded and caring relationship between them. The last solution would be to apply for government aid programs to improve financial situations. In Lonita s situation, Tano is making enough money to make it just above the poverty line, this makes it extremely difficult to pinch their pockets and pay for medical examinations. To avoid a stressful nine months, it is best for them to find a comprehensive health care program available in close proximity to them or in their area. These programs educate expecting couples on how to stay motivated and empower their children so they have a greater, and more successful outcome than they do. Attending these programs would inform Lonita on the fact that when she has flu like symptoms, she should not self diagnose herself and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Summary Of March By Geraldine Brooks March is a valuable novel written by Geraldine Brooks in 2005, which won the Pulitzer in 2006. The author retells the story of the absent father, Mr. March, in the novel Little Women, written by Louisa May Alcott. March is described like a sensitive man who leaves his family to join to the war as a chaplain, facing atrocities which he must survive. Geraldine Brooks also introduces a new character fiction created from her own imagination, not found in Little Women, who Mr. March haves some love encounters. When Geraldine was a girl, about 12 years old, her mother (who she considered as a world s cynics) advised her to read the novel, Little Women and take it with a grain salt. • 4. Richard Wright s Native Son Richard Wright s book, Native Son, is considered one of the pioneers of African American literature within mainstream America (Ann Rayson). The book follows Bigger Thomas s journey through self realization, while exposing the line of racism and its effects in 1930s Chicago. Yet, for an African American narrative, the story lacks one key character, a strong woman. The women Wright includes in his story are only there as a tool to better shape Bigger s, or another man s, character. While the lack of any strong, female character could be based on Richard Wright s own life, his presentation of Mrs. Thomas, Vera, Mrs. Dalton, Peggy, Mary, and Bessie all lack the characteristics required to fulfill the strong female lead that African American literature demands. Despite of the reasoning behind justification or condemnation for Wright s characters, when considering Wright s life it is clear that a strong female character was missing. Past criticisms of Native Son have normalized Bigger s extreme violence and commodification towards women, given Bigger s character. In How Bigger was Born Wright even argues that all characters are portrayed exclusively as seen from Bigger s perspective (Wright, xxxi). Literary critics and feminist challenge this justification based upon Wright s authority as the author. They argue instead that If read as the negative polarity of the text, this process of male reification and appropriation pervades the work. (France, 414). Every woman in the ... Tom in The Chimney Sweeper is one of those people who gets paid in experience. His experience was an out of body dream of an angel freeing people from coffins. In The Chimney Sweeper by William Blake, both stories use concrete imagery, a strong emotional connection, and has an underlying symbolic theme of bible references to create a mood to the story. Although there are two versions to The Chimney Sweeper they are different in length and the family itself. The Chimney Sweeper uses a very specific word choice to show the concrete imagery Blake uses. ... leaping, laughing they run (15) and wash in the river and shine in the sun (16). First the reader can see that leaping and laughing is an alliteration. Secondly, Blake uses the adjectives to paint a picture that is easily imagined by the reader so he doesn t lose the reader. It helps the reader become immersed in the story. Tom can also be compared to as a Christ figure through the concrete imagery. ... Well, this could be William Blake either summing the story up or he made the second story to be even darker than the first. Blake talks about a black thing among the snow (1) and crying weep weep in notes of woe. These words are creating a sorrowful beginning to the story. Also, In the 1789 version we learn that Tom s mom died when he was young and his father gave him (Tom) away. PoE devices that are placed in remote locations stop not only the need for power outlets, but also cut down the installation costs and enable the network devices to be adaptable in that region. Besides being used in IP telephones, cameras or wireless transmission, PoE can assure a better safety of a network while it operates as an inessential power supply. PoE makes the network planning flexible and independent of switch cabinets and sockets. For a better security, it is necessary to shut down all the PDs that are not in use or not necessary in the office or where are being used. Also with the popularity of the PoE. it is very easy to use PoE with a variety of other devices. On one hand, we have Power over Ethernet PSE (Power Supplying Equipment) which supplies PoE PD devices with electricity via the data cable and is also a source of voltage. It may use either End Span or Mid Span. The end span method basically means that there is a hardware device such as a PoE capable switch at the beginning of the twisted pair cable. A PoE capable switch simply defines a switch that has the capability of transmitting DC voltage over the twisted pair cable along with data. Figure 1: Power supplied from LAN equipment with end span PSE The other method, known as Mid span, provides power on the twisted pair cable at some point after the switch/router but before the device you are powering. An example of a Mid span device would be something like a Single Port PoE injector (Planet3 Wireless, 2005). A Single Port PoE injector has a port for the incoming Ethernet cable, a cord for the ... Davis tries to answer this question as he hypothesised different theories surrounding the lack of strong females or females at all for that matter in his essay Frankenstein and the Subversion of the Masculine Voice. The masculine point of view from which this story is told makes the women mentioned in this story static characters. Furthermore it is suggested by Davis that both Frankenstein and his monster have harsh feelings regarding women. Davis also concludes that Frankenstein fears the female s ability create new life saying, The possibility that his female monster might reproduce moves Victor to destroy her (Davis 311). Not only Frankenstein has harsh assumptions about women but the monster does as well. After the monster kills William he frames Justine for the murder saying, Should she Justine awake, and see me, and curse me, and denounce the murderer? Thus she would assuredly act, if her darkened eyes opened, and she beheld me. The thought was madness; it stirred the fiend within me not I, but shh shall suffer: the murder I have committed because I am for ever robbed of all that she could give me, she shall atone. The crime bad its source in her: be hers the punishment! (Shelley 143 44) Davis interprets this quote as saying that the monster assumes that Justine is a bad person and deserves this punishment for what he has done. The monster assumes that women are there to provide for him and he assumes that she is unwilling to do so even though she has not yet been tested in that position. (James P. ... • 12. Prayer Definition Essay How easy is it to become disheartened or weary about praying? If we re really honest with ourselves, it s pretty easy at times, especially when our prayers seem to go unanswered. How about distractions? How easy is it to allow distractions to interrupt your prayers? How frustrating is it when those unexpected thoughts pop into your head while praying? On average, how long can you pray before these distractions take effect? If you re fortunate, it may be several minutes before things we forgot to do or need to do just pop into our mind. We catch ourselves and go right back into our prayers only to be distracted again, at some later time. Do you think this happens with every Christian? How about with Billy Graham, R. C. Sproul, Vernon McGee ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Take a moment to think about ten of them. If I asked you, where in the world is the hardest place to pray, where would you say? The hardest place would be here in the United States. Why? Awesome question! As Americans, we ve become so caught up in a culture of always doing something that it s hard to slow down and pray for any length of time. It feels uncomfortable or feels like we re wasting valuable time. Our society has placed such a high premium on accomplishments or on being productive that prayer sometimes goes against the grain of our society. Do we see any accomplishments in prayer? Are we being productive when we pray? Prayer is nothing more than talking to God, but how many of us feel like it s hopeless or useless? We pray for healing only to continue in sickness. We ask for victory over sin only to find defeat. What good does it do to pray? Another problem with the American culture is our attention span. When we re not working, we re watching television, playing video games, surfing the Internet(s) or on our smartphones. The next time you go to a restaurant or to the movie theaters, look around to see how many people are on their phones. Being still and quiet is not in the American culture. Sin is another thing which keeps us from praying as we ought to. In William Shakespeare s Hamlet Act III, scene iii, Hamlet sneaks in to kill King Claudius, who killed his own brother and Hamlet s father. At the end of the scene, Hamlet realized he cannot kill Claudius and sneaks back out of the room and we hear Claudius say, My words fly up, my thoughts remain low. Words without thought never to heaven go. Claudius tried to repent for committing murder, but he couldn t. We see him kneeling in prayer, but he couldn t feel any sense of comfort or mercy from God. The Grass Is Always Greener In Carl Sandburg s Grass The Grass Is Always Greener (Over the Cemetery): the Use of Proper Nouns, the Imperative Tense, and Tension Between the First and Third Person in Carl Sandburg s Grass When a battle is over, the field on which it was fought must look like a wound on the face of the earth: the blood soaked ground strewn with bodies, lying in mud churned by thousands of marching feet. Eventually, grass grows over the battlefield, hiding the evidence of the horrors that took place there under a blanket of green. In years to come, the area appears so unremarkable that passersby have no indication of what took place there. However, without remembrance, what is to stop history from continually repeating itself? Carl Sandburg, in his poem Grass, uses the imperative tense, proper nouns, and tension between the first person and the third person points of view to show that humanity repeats its mistakes because nature always conceals them. Sandburg uses proper nouns throughout the poem to emphasize the reality of wars fought and lives lost. By calling battles by their proper names, in ominous, measured sentences, he is peeling back, so to speak, the layer of grass concealing them. This technique makes it impossible to gloss over the atrocities that were committed. When he says, Pile the bodies high at Austerlitz and Waterloo (Line 1), And pile them high at Ypres and Verdun (5), he is naming specific places, where individuals died at a certain time. • 32. The Importance Of Education In Public Education Education in schools today is very important to a student s success. From reading a particular passage, I read about a particular student who was denied as school valedictorian for the simple fact that she was black. To fully understand what role integration plays, or should play in public education today, there are some key components that one must understand. The first component addresses how much it really matters to see that schools are pretty much segregated as they were in 1968. To my intellect, it s colossally noteworthy. In case you think approximately the two principal purposes of open instruction, it s to advance social portability so that a child, no matter the circumstances, can, through a great instruction, go where their abilities would take them. The reason is to reinforce our popular government by making cleverly and open minded citizens, and related to that, to construct social cohesion. We are a country where individuals come from all corners of the world so it s imperative that the open schools be a place where children learn what it implies to be an American, and learn the values of a majority rule government, one of which is that we re all social. Isolation by race and by financial status essentially undermines both of those goals. To my mind this issue of segregation, which gets talked about very little, is central to undermining the twin rationales for public schooling in the first place. The second component addresses race. Parents of children argue ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The painting Temptation of Saint Hilarion reflects romanticism which reflects the emotion displayed on the canvas. Baudelaire mentions that Romanticism is precisely situated neither in choice of subject in exact truth, but in feeling. • 34. Things Fall Apart A nation s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people ( Mahatma Gandhi Quotes 1). The culture of a certain tribe, clan or group of people is not found written anywhere but it is found in the knowledge of its people because that is what they ve grown up to learn. To them that is the only way they know. In Chinua Achebe s book, Things Fall Apart, the people of Umuofia keep their culture close to what it was when it was discovered by their ancestors. The only changes that they made were made to fit the community as time had changed since their ancestors had been alive. However, their beliefs and morals remained relatively the same because that is what they have been taught for as long as the Ibo tribe has been around. These beliefs are all they know and they all live by them. Throughout Achebe s piece, it is evident that he wants to emphasize the distinct Ibo culture in this book. In Things Fall Apart, Achebe stresses the importance of culture to a community by using cultural aspects such as, the Ibo language, their religion, and the traditions of the Ibo people. Although most of this book is in english, Achebe uses the Ibo language to keep the identity of the culture. By using this language it shows that the people of this tribe use these words to create a sense of community between the people. All of the words that are in the Ibo language have a definition specific to the beliefs of their culture. Most of the men of the tribe had a title of some kind. If ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Truman Made the Right Choice President Harry Truman s use of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan during the Second World War is the most controversial decision in history. While it was an undoubtedly difficult decision, it was indeed necessary in order to end this six year war that had ravaged the world. While many critics argue that the bomb was used primarily as an act of vengeance toward Japan, simplifying such a crucial moment in human history downplays the very real threat Japan posed to the United States. While avoiding strained relations with the other Allied countries, Truman had to assess the possible danger of the Soviet Union in a post war world. Due to the aforementioned increasing tensions between the two emerging superpowers, an issue of great concern was if, how and when to approach the Soviets with the news of the Manhattan Project. In spite of the differences between the Soviets and the United States, by Truman s main concern was keeping unity amongst the Big Three , realizing that ending the war depended on the support of both Britain and the Soviet Union. • 38. Rhetorical Devices In The Convergence Of The Twain By... The construction of the Titanic started on March 31, 1909 and finished on May 31, 1911. During the process, constructors made sure to make the Titanic as attractive as possible, accessorizing it with many iconic features such as the ship s grand staircase and its promenade deck. Many people at the time believed that the Titanic would never sink, therefore naming it the Unsinkable ship after it has set sail. Unfortunately, the unsinkable ship collided with an iceberg on April 14, 1912, claiming the lives of 1,500 passengers. As a result, the Titanic broke into two and sunk, leaving behind its legacy. Thomas Hardy provides a poem that acknowledges the sinking of the Titanic. Unlike the many similar reactions of grief and sorrow that the people had, Hardy approaches the event differently. In the poem, The Convergence of the Twain, Thomas Hardy uses a variety of rhetorical devices to express his disdain for the vanity of humans during the first half of the poem and to explain that fate s work resulted in the outcome of the Titanic during the second half of the poem. Throughout the first five stanzas of the poem, Hardy utilizes allusion, juxtaposition, and alliteration to emphasize the idea that the excessive pride of humans is useless and it has led to the downfall of the Titanic. Therefore, Hardy provides insight on the vanity of those that built the ship. He describes the people as the Pride of Life. The description alludes to the book of John in the Christian Bible. ...
