“NATION FIRST, ALWAYS FIRST”
CELEBRATING INDEPENDENCE DAY
@77!
Glorious
Take the country to new heights
of progress, says Kalraj Mishra
Gratitude to freedom fighters
for their sacrifice: CM Gehlot
arendra Modi will become the first non-Congress
Prime Minister to hoist the national Tricolour from ram-
parts of Red Fort for the 10th time today. With hoisting
the national flag on the 77th Independence Day, PM Narendra
Modi will equal the record of former PM Manmohan Singh of
hoisting the tricolour for 10 consecutive times. PM Modi will
also address nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort. Apart
from Manmohan Singh, only Nehru & Indira Gandhi have
hoisted the flag more than 10 times at the Red Fort.
Governor Kalraj Mishra
greeted nation, people
of State on the occasion of
77th Independence Day.
Mishra called upon the peo-
ple of the state to take the
country to new heights of progress
on the strength of their hard work,
dedication and innovation.
He has appealed to people
of State to hoist tricolour at
their homes. He will hoist
tricolour Flag hoisting at Raj
Bhavan at 9.15 am. Assem-
bly Speaker Dr CP Joshi greeted
the nation on I-Day.
Chief Minister Ashok
Gehlot said that this
day gives an opportunity to
express gratitude to those
freedom fighters and mar-
tyrs, who gave freedom to
country by sacrificing everything
in freedom struggle. “We all bow
down to their sacrifice. It is
the duty of all of us to firmly
face the challenges facing
the democratic and constitu-
tional values in the present
circumstances and remain
united against the forces that harm
them,” Gehlot said.

As the #HarGharTiranga
campaign called for by PM @
narendramodi Ji is underway
it is my earnest appeal to the people of
India to hoist the National Flag at their
homes and upload selfies on http://
harghartiranga.com. Also please
encourage fellow citizens to do the
same. Cherishing India’s spirit of unity
and fraternity I hoisted the Tiranga at
my residence in Delhi today.

Partition Remembrance Day is an
occasion to reverently remember
those Indians whose lives were
sacrificed in the partition of the country.
Along with this, this day also reminds
us of the suffering and struggle of those
who were forced to bear the brunt of
displacement. I salute all such people.
Narendra Modi
@narendramodi
The partition of the country on the basis of
religion in 1947 is a dark chapter in history.
The hatred it generated has killed lakhs and
displaced crores of people. The country had to pay a
heavy price for this and many people are still facing the
brunt of this menace. Today, on ‘Partition Vibhishika
Memorial Day’
, I bow down to all those people who lost
their lives and their family members due to partition.

TRANQUILITY IS
UNDER THREAT IN
PARTS OF HARYANA
espite the violence in Nuh earlier this month
having claimed several lives, parts of Hary-
ana are refusing to calm down. Some people
continue to be belligerent towards a minority com-
munity. A fresh call for boycott of minorities and
taking out of religious procession has come from a
mahapanchayat held at Palwal. The religious proces-
sion taken out in Nuh earlier this month was stopped
after violence broke out. The mahapanchayat was
allowed on the condition that there won’t be hate
speeches. One of the speakers told his audience to
buy rifles “as they shoot farther” and demanded
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s replacement
by someone like UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
who now has a larger than life image for being firm
in dealing with minorities. However,YogiAdityanath
has not backed any call for economic and social boy-
cott of a particular community. The main speaker
even dared the administration to stop the yatra. Un-
bridled utterances pose a threat to harmony.

CONG’S GRAFT CHARGE
MAY NOT TRUMP BJP
ongress party is trying to copy its Karnataka
strategy to win the Assembly elections in
Madhya Pradesh. The tactic may not work
out given the difference between the two states. In
Karnataka, campaign against the 40 percent commis-
sion government began after a contractor committed
suicide and accused the former minister for rural de-
velopment KS Eshwarappa of asking for bribe. The
minister was subsequently given a clean chit but the
contractors’ lobby went public against the then Ba-
savaraj Bommai government for being corrupt.
In Madhya Pradesh the Congress has used social
media platform ‘X’ to allege that the Shivraj Patil
government is tak-
ing 50 percent
commission from
contractors. The al-
legation is based on
a letter by a person
named Gyanendra
Awasthi. Unlike in
Karnataka, this ap-
pears to be a case
built on flimsy
ground and may
not stand scrutiny.
Questions are
bound to crop up
about the genuine-
ness of Awasthi,
whose identity is
yet unknown and
on what basis he
has made an allega-
tion of such a seri-
ous nature.
Cases have been
registered against
AICC general sec-
retary Priyanka
Gandhi Vadra, her X (earlier Twitter) account han-
dlers and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath in 40
districts of the state, which is as inexplicable as the
allegation by the Congress leaders. The allegation
against Karnataka’s Eshwarappa could not be proved
but the contractors stood their ground. The faceless
person’s allegation in Madhya Pradesh, described by
the BJP as defamatory, has been forwarded to the
Chief Justice of the state’s high court. That doesn’t
lend it any credibility and may not help the Congress.

power to
erase memo-
ries of slavery. From the
Charkha, that became the
symbol of the Swadeshi
movement in 1905 to the
new Indian Navy “Ni-
shaan” inspired by the seal
of Chhatrapati Shivaji, In-
dia has come a long way in
shedding off the burden of
colonial ensigns thrust by
the British Raj. The use of
state symbols as a key ele-
ment in nation building has
helped PM Modi in unify-
ing the people and in the
creation of “Ek Bharat,
Shreshta Bharat”.
PM Modi’s nationalistic
fervour clearly transcends
the changes in the physical
to the symbolic representa-
tions of national identity.
There have been voices
raised in opposition citing
this attempt as tampering
with history; however, this
is about deleting the stamp
of colonial occupation of
India. Why this discourse
rings true is because just
like other aspects of iden-
tity, national identity too is
to be learnt. Citizens are
not born with it. National
identity is a construction;
and PM Modi has done just
that by making Indian na-
tionalism relatable to the
everyday way of life.
The transformation of
Rajpath to Kartavya Path
is one pressing example of
how visual and semantic
communicative processes
are at play speaking an un-
spoken language of Indian
nationalism negating the
colonial past. The 28 ft
hologram statue of Sub-
hash Chandra Bose carved
from a monolithic block of
black Telengana granite
replacing the imposing
marble statue of King
George V, under the India
Gate canopy, was a bold
message that the mistakes
the disputatious leaders
who have led India since
Independence could not
correct, will be corrected
by the BJP.
Also, no one generates
positivity around “Roado-
nomics” better than PM
Modi. From ‘Aurangzeb
Road’that is now ‘APJAb-
dul Kalam Road’, ‘Race
Course Road’ which is
‘Lok Kalyan Marg’, ‘Dal-
housie Road’which now is
‘Darah Shikoh Road’, In-
dian cities, villages, rail-
way stations, universities
and other places too have
not remained untouched
from this policy of name
change.Allahabad to Pray-
agraj, Faizabad to Ayod-
hya, Gurgaon to Guru-
gram, Mewat to Nuh, these
changes too reflect upon
govt’s ideological pursuit
to reclaim past glory.
Now, just before the
77th Independence Day,
PM Modi replaced three
colonial-era criminal laws
and introduced the Nyaya
Sanhita Bill, Bharatiya Na-
grik Suraksha Sanhita Bill,
and Bhartiya Sakshya Bill.
While the Sanhitas will be
scrutinized by a Parlia-
mentary Standing Com-
mittee, there are reserva-
tions over the Hindi names
that have been given to the
Indian Penal Code (1860),
whose architect was
Thomas Babington Ma-
caulay, the Criminal Pro-
cedure Code (1898) and
the Indian Evidence Act
(1872). Some may pro-
nounce this name chang-
ing spree as Hindi imperi-
alism, but the fact remains
that there is much more to
the amendments than just
the name.
Keeping in line with the
“Panch Pran” PM Modi
took last year from the
ramparts of the Red Fort
on Independence day, of
which the second was to
“erase all traces of servi-
tude” and third to “be
proud of our legacy”, PM
Modi has kept his promise
to the citizens by overhaul-
ing the freedom narrative
from its roots and launch-
ing scathing strikes on an-
ything servile holding in
chains a colonial past.

Now, just before the 77th

reservations over the Hindi

to the Indian Penal Code
(1860), whose architect was
Thomas Babington Macaulay,
the Criminal Procedure
Code (1898) and the Indian
Evidence Act (1872).
Some may pronounce this

more to the amendments
than just the name. Keep-

from the ramparts of the Red

of which the second was to

on anything servile holding

India’s retail inflation
jumped sharply to a nine-
month high of 7.44 per
cent in July, according to
official data. This marks
a significant increase
over the 4.87 per cent re-

inflation was widely ex-
pected by economists to
be above the Reserve
Bank of India’s upper tol-

However, the actual fig-
ure is higher than what
most experts had esti-

tail inflation breached the
RBI’s 2-6 per cent thresh-
old after four months.
Surge has come in wake
of a sharp rise in veg

spacecraft has
moved closer to the moon
after performing its third
lunar orbit reduction.
This means that the craft
hasbeengraduallymoved
from a highly-elliptical
orbit (174 km x 1437 km)
to a near-circular orbit
(150km x 177km) around
the Moon. In an elliptical
orbit, there is a huge dif-
ference between the
craft’s nearest point to the
moon (perilune) and far-
thest point to the moon
(apolune). In a near-cir-
cular orbit, there is a very
minor difference between
perilune and apolune.
“Orbit circularisation
phase commences. Pre-
cise maneuvre performed
todayhasachievedanear-
circular orbit of 150 km x
177 km. The next opera-
tion is planned forAugust

(formerly Twitter).
ISRO’s next target is to
bringthecrafttoacircular

km above the lunar sur-
face. This is what ISRO
calls the orbit circularisa-
tion phase. When this or-
bit is achieved, the space-
craft will be at a constant
100kmdistanceabovethe
moon, at any period of
time in that orbit.
“When the craft is cir-
cling around the moon, a
command is issued to re-
orient the craft by 180 de-
grees. This re-orientation
will ensure that the craft’s
engine(s) can be used as a
brake. Such engine firings
areknownasretro-firings.
In retro-firing, the engine
is not pushing the craft
forward. Instead, it is
pushing the craft in a di-
rection opposite to its
original direction of
movementanditwillslow
down the craft,” Dr
Mylswamy Annadurai,
former director of ISRO’s
UR Rao Satellite Centre.
When the craft was cir-
clingtheearth,commands
were issued to fire the en-
gines and push the craft
further away from the
earth (orbit-raising ma-
noeuvres). In those cases,
the engine was fired to
propel the craft forward
and impart more velocity
to it. In retro-firing (op-
posite firing), the engine
firing is done in an oppo-
site direction, thereby re-
ducing the velocity of the
craft and lowering its or-
bit. These are the funda-
mental differences be-
tween orbit-raising ma-
noeuvres and orbit-reduc-
tion manoeuvres.

INDIA'S G20 PRESIDENCY RECOGNITION OF ITS
RISE AS WORLD POWER: US CONGRESSMAN
New Delhi: India should be a permanent member
of the UN Security Council and its G20 presi-
dency is an appropriate recognition of its rise as

peace” to Ukraine considering its “historical relationship”
with Russia. The Indian-American Congressman, cur-

would strongly support New Delhi if it faces any security
challenge. Khanna and Congressman Michael Waltz, the
two co-chairs of the bipartisan Congressional Caucus on
India and Indian Americans, are leading a Congressional
delegation to India. Describing India’s G-20 presidency
as “very consequential”, Khanna said the country should
be in the UN Security Council considering its rising
global profile. “India should be in the UN Security Coun-

Glorious Take the country to new heights of progress, says Kalraj Mishra Gratitude to freedom fighters for their sacrifice: CM Gehlot arendra Modi will become the first non-Congress Prime Minister to hoist the national Tricolour from ram- parts of Red Fort for the 10th time today. With hoisting the national flag on the 77th Independence Day, PM Narendra Modi will equal the record of former PM Manmohan Singh of hoisting the tricolour for 10 consecutive times. PM Modi will also address nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort. Apart from Manmohan Singh, only Nehru & Indira Gandhi have hoisted the flag more than 10 times at the Red Fort. Governor Kalraj Mishra greeted nation, people of State on the occasion of 77th Independence Day. Mishra called upon the peo- ple of the state to take the country to new heights of progress on the strength of their hard work, dedication and innovation. He has appealed to people of State to hoist tricolour at their homes. He will hoist tricolour Flag hoisting at Raj Bhavan at 9.15 am. Assem- bly Speaker Dr CP Joshi greeted the nation on I-Day. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that this day gives an opportunity to express gratitude to those freedom fighters and mar- tyrs, who gave freedom to country by sacrificing everything in freedom struggle. “We all bow down to their sacrifice. It is the duty of all of us to firmly face the challenges facing the democratic and constitu- tional values in the present circumstances and remain united against the forces that harm them,” Gehlot said. N As the #HarGharTiranga campaign called for by PM @ narendramodi Ji is underway it is my earnest appeal to the people of India to hoist the National Flag at their homes and upload selfies on http:// harghartiranga.com. Also please encourage fellow citizens to do the same. Cherishing India’s spirit of unity and fraternity I hoisted the Tiranga at my residence in Delhi today. • 4. TOP TWEETS SPIRITUAL SPEAK May the God of endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude toward each other, similar to Christ Jesus’ attitude. BIBLE Partition Remembrance Day is an occasion to reverently remember those Indians whose lives were sacrificed in the partition of the country. Along with this, this day also reminds us of the suffering and struggle of those who were forced to bear the brunt of displacement. I salute all such people. Narendra Modi @narendramodi The partition of the country on the basis of religion in 1947 is a dark chapter in history. The hatred it generated has killed lakhs and displaced crores of people. The country had to pay a heavy price for this and many people are still facing the brunt of this menace. Today, on ‘Partition Vibhishika Memorial Day’ , I bow down to all those people who lost their lives and their family members due to partition. Amit Shah @AmitShah ALWAYS FIRST NATION FIRST IN-DEPTH TRANQUILITY IS UNDER THREAT IN PARTS OF HARYANA espite the violence in Nuh earlier this month having claimed several lives, parts of Hary- ana are refusing to calm down. Some people continue to be belligerent towards a minority com- munity. A fresh call for boycott of minorities and taking out of religious procession has come from a mahapanchayat held at Palwal. The religious proces- sion taken out in Nuh earlier this month was stopped after violence broke out. The mahapanchayat was allowed on the condition that there won’t be hate speeches. One of the speakers told his audience to buy rifles “as they shoot farther” and demanded Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s replacement by someone like UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath who now has a larger than life image for being firm in dealing with minorities. However,YogiAdityanath has not backed any call for economic and social boy- cott of a particular community. The main speaker even dared the administration to stop the yatra. Un- bridled utterances pose a threat to harmony. D CONG’S GRAFT CHARGE MAY NOT TRUMP BJP ongress party is trying to copy its Karnataka strategy to win the Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. The tactic may not work out given the difference between the two states. In Karnataka, campaign against the 40 percent commis- sion government began after a contractor committed suicide and accused the former minister for rural de- velopment KS Eshwarappa of asking for bribe. The minister was subsequently given a clean chit but the contractors’ lobby went public against the then Ba- savaraj Bommai government for being corrupt. In Madhya Pradesh the Congress has used social media platform ‘X’ to allege that the Shivraj Patil government is tak- ing 50 percent commission from contractors. The al- legation is based on a letter by a person named Gyanendra Awasthi. Unlike in Karnataka, this ap- pears to be a case built on flimsy ground and may not stand scrutiny. Questions are bound to crop up about the genuine- ness of Awasthi, whose identity is yet unknown and on what basis he has made an allega- tion of such a seri- ous nature. Cases have been registered against AICC general sec- retary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, her X (earlier Twitter) account han- dlers and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath in 40 districts of the state, which is as inexplicable as the allegation by the Congress leaders. The allegation against Karnataka’s Eshwarappa could not be proved but the contractors stood their ground. The faceless person’s allegation in Madhya Pradesh, described by the BJP as defamatory, has been forwarded to the Chief Justice of the state’s high court. That doesn’t lend it any credibility and may not help the Congress. C Congress is trying to copy its Karnataka strategy to win the Assembly elections in MP. The tactic may not work out given the difference between the two states. In Karnataka, campaign against the 40% commission govt began after a contractor committed suicide and accused the former minister for rural development KS Eshwarappa of asking for bribe.  Vol 5  Issue No. 70  RNI NO. From the Charkha, that became the symbol of the Swadeshi movement in 1905 to the new Indian Navy “Ni- shaan” inspired by the seal of Chhatrapati Shivaji, In- dia has come a long way in shedding off the burden of colonial ensigns thrust by the British Raj. The use of state symbols as a key ele- ment in nation building has helped PM Modi in unify- ing the people and in the creation of “Ek Bharat, Shreshta Bharat”. PM Modi’s nationalistic fervour clearly transcends the changes in the physical to the symbolic representa- tions of national identity. There have been voices raised in opposition citing this attempt as tampering with history; however, this is about deleting the stamp of colonial occupation of India. Why this discourse rings true is because just like other aspects of iden- tity, national identity too is to be learnt. Citizens are not born with it. National identity is a construction; and PM Modi has done just that by making Indian na- tionalism relatable to the everyday way of life. The transformation of Rajpath to Kartavya Path is one pressing example of how visual and semantic communicative processes are at play speaking an un- spoken language of Indian nationalism negating the colonial past. The 28 ft hologram statue of Sub- hash Chandra Bose carved from a monolithic block of black Telengana granite replacing the imposing marble statue of King George V, under the India Gate canopy, was a bold message that the mistakes the disputatious leaders who have led India since Independence could not correct, will be corrected by the BJP. Also, no one generates positivity around “Roado- nomics” better than PM Modi. From ‘Aurangzeb Road’that is now ‘APJAb- dul Kalam Road’, ‘Race Course Road’ which is ‘Lok Kalyan Marg’, ‘Dal- housie Road’which now is ‘Darah Shikoh Road’, In- dian cities, villages, rail- way stations, universities and other places too have not remained untouched from this policy of name change.Allahabad to Pray- agraj, Faizabad to Ayod- hya, Gurgaon to Guru- gram, Mewat to Nuh, these changes too reflect upon govt’s ideological pursuit to reclaim past glory. Now, just before the 77th Independence Day, PM Modi replaced three colonial-era criminal laws and introduced the Nyaya Sanhita Bill, Bharatiya Na- grik Suraksha Sanhita Bill, and Bhartiya Sakshya Bill. While the Sanhitas will be scrutinized by a Parlia- mentary Standing Com- mittee, there are reserva- tions over the Hindi names that have been given to the Indian Penal Code (1860), whose architect was Thomas Babington Ma- caulay, the Criminal Pro- cedure Code (1898) and the Indian Evidence Act (1872). Some may pro- nounce this name chang- ing spree as Hindi imperi- alism, but the fact remains that there is much more to the amendments than just the name. Keeping in line with the “Panch Pran” PM Modi took last year from the ramparts of the Red Fort on Independence day, of which the second was to “erase all traces of servi- tude” and third to “be proud of our legacy”, PM Modi has kept his promise to the citizens by overhaul- ing the freedom narrative from its roots and launch- ing scathing strikes on an- ything servile holding in chains a colonial past. This means that the craft hasbeengraduallymoved from a highly-elliptical orbit (174 km x 1437 km) to a near-circular orbit (150km x 177km) around the Moon. In an elliptical orbit, there is a huge dif- ference between the craft’s nearest point to the moon (perilune) and far- thest point to the moon (apolune). In a near-cir- cular orbit, there is a very minor difference between perilune and apolune. “Orbit circularisation phase commences. Pre- cise maneuvre performed todayhasachievedanear- circular orbit of 150 km x 177 km. The next opera- tion is planned forAugust 16, 2023, around 0830 hrs IST,” ISRO posted on X (formerly Twitter). ISRO’s next target is to bringthecrafttoacircular orbitwherethecraftis100 km above the lunar sur- face. This is what ISRO calls the orbit circularisa- tion phase. When this or- bit is achieved, the space- craft will be at a constant 100kmdistanceabovethe moon, at any period of time in that orbit. “When the craft is cir- cling around the moon, a command is issued to re- orient the craft by 180 de- grees. This re-orientation will ensure that the craft’s engine(s) can be used as a brake. Such engine firings areknownasretro-firings. In retro-firing, the engine is not pushing the craft forward. Instead, it is pushing the craft in a di- rection opposite to its original direction of movementanditwillslow down the craft,” Dr Mylswamy Annadurai, former director of ISRO’s UR Rao Satellite Centre. When the craft was cir- clingtheearth, commands were issued to fire the en- gines and push the craft further away from the earth (orbit-raising ma- noeuvres). In those cases, the engine was fired to propel the craft forward and impart more velocity to it. In retro-firing (op- posite firing), the engine firing is done in an oppo- site direction, thereby re- ducing the velocity of the craft and lowering its or- bit. These are the funda- mental differences be- tween orbit-raising ma- noeuvres and orbit-reduc- tion manoeuvres. An illustration showing ISRO’s ‘Chandrayaan-3’.
