has intensified. The duty
of traffic cops will now
be assigned not by the
duty officer but by a
computer.
For this, Police Com-
missioner Anand Srivas-
tava launched the Traffic
Police Duty Manage-
ment System at the Yad-
gaar building, where the
City traffic headquarters
is located.
The duties of traffic
cops at 391 traffic points
will be done through
computer software.
For this, Jaipur City
has been divided into
three parts. This will
follow the present rota-
tion system and duty
will be changed on the
first day of every month.

trying to escape, was

and beat him up. The
case pertains to Batoda
police station area
of Sawai Madhopur.
Nathulal said that on
Thursday evening, his
niece Pooja and her sis-
ter-in-law Urmila Devi
were in the house when
Bhanupratap came with
his companions Ankit,
Kuldeep Meena and
Krishna. They went into
the house and began talk-
ing to his niece. During
this, the accused sent his
sister-in-law out on the
pretext of getting water.
He then locked the room
and started molesting
Pooja. When she object-
ed, Bhanupratap shot her
in the head with a coun-
try-made pistol. Pooja
was rushed to Batoda
Hospital, but she died.
Hearing the sound of
the bullet, the people
around also came to the
spot. Seeing Bhanu-
pratap running away with
a pistol in his hand, peo-
ple caught him.
The villagers blocked the Batoda-Barnala road insisted on calling the administrative officials to the
spot. Bhanupratap, accused of killing the girl, was caught by the villagers while trying to escape.

recalling the unforgettable tri-
umph in this week 40 years ago
that changed Indian cricket for-
ever! It was the ‘Big Bang’mo-
ment that Indian cricket was
waiting for and it happened
quite unexpectedly on the
evening of 25th June 1983. In-
dia beat the mighty West Indies
to lift their first ever World
Cup, turning cricket into a reli-
gion for a nation that was still
searching for its place in the
world. With the ODI World
Cup now just a few months
away, it’s a vital reminder for
Team India to look into their
historic past and grab key les-
sons in their quest for a prestig-
ious World title!
Standing at the cusp of a
technological revolution, the
1983 World Cup win gave In-
dia the belief that it could take
on the world and succeed. It
was a classical David vs Goli-
ath story - odds were stacked
against the Indian team and
nobody expected them to win.
But they did! It was a reflection
of the glorious uncertainty of
sport in general and cricket in
particular. The Indian victory
also showed the import of be-
lieving in oneself and working
hard with intelligence. If all of
this happens in sync then any-
thing is possible.
The terrific triumph also un-
derlines the significance of
small successes which snow-
ball into big achievements.
Barely a month before the 1983
World Cup, India had defeated
West Indies in their own back-
yard. This was a big win as for
the past 15 years West Indies
had been a formidable side and
had already won the previous
World Cups in 1975 and 1979.
In its first match of the World
Cup in 1983, Team India
shocked the Windies again – a
success which boosted their
morale and inspired the side to
keep improving as the tourna-
ment progressed.
In the finals, India were put
into bat after West Indies won
the toss only to find their star
batsman, Sunil Gavaskar back
in the hut early. While no bats-
man got to 50, small contribu-
tions pushed India to a fighting
score of 183. It seemed a
straightforward win for West
Indies to most experts at the
halfway mark. But India’s
bowlers managed to put a
stranglehold on the Windies
batsmen. This team effort en-
sured that ultimately India won
the match by 43 runs.
This remarkable victory also
highlights the importance of
teamwork for a side’s success.
The current Indian team can
surely take a cue out of the ear-
lier World Cup winning teams.
The first key takeaway for the
team is that the contribution of
eachplayercountsandall11and
not just a few superstars are
needed to become a champion
side. While there have been
manysuperlativeindividualper-
formances by Team India in the
past decade, since they won the
lastICCtitle,acoordinatedteam
effort has been largely missing.
This is where a Captain
needs to play his part better.
Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni both
proved to be inspirational for
their teams in 1983 and 2011.
As skippers, they not only led
from the front but also ensured
that there was bonhomie be-
tween team members so that
they could perform collectively
on the field.
Instead of focussing on mar-
quee stars like Virat Kohli and
Rohit Sharma, Team India
needs to focus on building an
ethic of strong teamwork. For a
champion side, each one of the
11 players performs at his best.
It is worth recalling that even
the legendary SachinTendulkar
won a World Cup only in 2011
when the entire team jelled like

New Delhi: A team of deputy election commission-
ers will visit Madhya Pradesh next week to take
stock of the preparedness for the assembly polls
slated for October-November, sources said on Friday.
They said the team is likely to be in Bhopal for two days
beginning Monday. Election Commission officials had
earlier visited four other states going to polls later this year
— Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Rajasthan — to
review the preparations.

of a plea filed by the wife of gangster-politician
Mukhtar Ansari’s aide Sanjeev Maheshwari Jeeva, who

routes will now be able to
carry sealed bottles of al-
coholatparwiththeprovi-
sions already available on
its Airport Express Line.
As per a Delhi Metro
Rail Corporation
(DMRC) release, two
sealed bottles of alcohol
per person are now al-
lowed to be carried on
the Delhi Metro.
This decision comes
after a committee com-
prising officials from
Central Industrial Secu-
rity Force (the force re-
sponsible for guarding
metro facilities) and
DMRC reviewed the ear-
lier order. As per an ear-
lier order, carrying alco-
hol was banned in the
metro except on the Air-
port Express Line.
However, drinking al-
cohol inside metro prem-
ises is strictly prohibited.
“Metro passengers are
requested to maintain
proper decorum while
traveling. In case, any
passenger is found be-
having in an indecent
manner under the influ-
ence of alcohol, suitable
action shall be taken un-
der the relevant provi-
sions of law,” the DMRC
release said.

praised Union Home Minister Amit Shah
saying that he made India a powerful
country by ending terrorism. “By ending terrorism
in Kashmir, you made a new Kashmir of peace
there. But Udaipur, which is called the Kashmir
of Rajasthan, has fallen prey to terrorism under
leadership of Ashok Gehlot who is doing vote
politics even in this case,” she said while referring
to beheading of Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur in June
last year. Raje highlighted various achievements

days of my extended stay in TATA’s
new and unique Air India-themed
suite inspired by the iconic “Maha-
raja “ which is a tribute to the famous
mascot of the Tata Airlines now Air
India.
Taj Mahal Hotel in Delhi was
opened on the 11th of October 1978
and in May 2023, it was the first
privileged Taj hotel to come up with
the Maharaja Suite in the presence of
Tata Sons Chairman and Chan-
drasekaran, Air India CEO MD
Campbell Wilson, IHCLMD CEO
Puneet Chhatwal, and Vistara CEO
Vinod Kannan.
Within a week’s launch, I was
lucky to have been the first checked-
in guest along with my mother for
two nights in the 132-square-metre
suite.
It’s a benevolent gesture of Satya-
jeet Krishnan, the Area Director of
New Delhi and the General Manager
of the iconic Taj Mahal Hotel, New
Delhi to upgrade me and my mother
for two days to the frippery suite.
Krishnan, a doyen in the Indian
hospitality industry ensures world-
class hospitality to all his guests. He
is known for his graceful aesthetics
and predilection for panache.
The Maharaja suite is unique as it
involves a radically new and innova-
tive style.
The Air India Maharaja theme is
intriguing and I enjoyed my stay in
that suite. As one enters through the
door of the suite the lovable mascot
with a round face, an outsized mous-
tache, a striped turban, and a long,
sharp nose welcomes you along with
Alexa greeting you.
Bold and vibrant colours, dramatic
lacquer-coloured woodwork, be-
spoke wallpaper, elegant furniture,
artwork, bright lights, trendy wall-
mounted lamps, contemporary chan-
deliers, a smart bar cabinet, classic
marble flooring and colourful carpets
are appealing to the eyes.
The suite is young and one needs
to have an experimental approach
and taste to understand and cherish
the theme. Nestled in the lap of lush
greenery, old-world charm, blended
effortlessly with contemporary com-
forts and amenities.
The experience was incredible. It
feels intimate and personal. Has a
distinctive vibe, the staff offers su-
perb service and the architecture and
interior design are unique and full of
character.
The grand suite offers a uniquely
themed master bedroom, a sitting
room, and a study designed in tribute
to the pioneer of aviation with rare
precious pictures of Air India crew
and Ratan Tata adorning the walls, a
powder room, an elegant bathroom
and a dining area.
This suite features a spectacular
view of the terrace lawn and the
greenery in abundance is a mood en-
hancer.
The colours used are bold and
bright. I’d say it’s a quirky and vi-
brant suite.
One of TATA’s most picturesque
signature suites, perfect for whoever
appreciates bling, colours and photo-
shoot, spacious and suitable for a
long duration. I won’t say that it’s
regal but it’s rich.
Travellers who are on the hunt for
a pop of vibrancy that makes them
feel happier through colour therapy
can discover that feature through the
dynamic colours used in the suite.
This suite is bursting with various
hues that can brighten anyone’s day.
The master bedroom boasts of
luxurious space, a creatively de-
signed vanity area, and a gleaming
bathroom with marble and mirrors is
the height of indulgence.
Featuring cutting-edge technology
blending perfectly with glamorous
design, there is two 65-inch plasma
screen, with a 3D state-of-the-art
home theatre system, the world-class
sound system makes for a fully im-
mersive experience that raises the bar
for an in-hotel audiovisual offering.
The suite can be accessed through
Alexa. Ain’t that cool!
Following the extensive restora-
tion and refurbishment of the main
edifice, this is the newest in their Sig-
nature Selection of Suites and Luxu-
ry Residences.
The hotel bathroom boasts an im-
pressive bathtub and is lavish.
Tata celebrates Air India’s home-
coming with the launch of this suite
and it couldn’t have found a better
location than Sir Edwin Lutyen ‘s
iconic property.
Besides the marvellous addition to
the property, the Taj Club lounge on
the eighth floor is well-lit, exudes
positive vibes and is cozy. It has a
lovely view overlooking the pool and
a panoramic view of the city.
The bar Ricks 2.0 has ornate opu-
lence. The quality of the food, ser-
vice, drinks, ambience, and cleanli-
ness, are exceptional. It bears its own
whimsical, classy and the wooden
interiors give a vintage feel.
The restaurant Machan serves ex-
quisite fine dining to mouth-watering

chronic non-
communica-
ble disease of
the brain that affects peo-
ple of all ages.According
toWHOreport,around50
million people worldwide
have epilepsy, making it
one of the most common
neurological diseases
globally. Nearly 80% of
people with epilepsy live
in low- and middle-in-
come countries.
On Doctor’s Day, Neu-
ro physician Dr Sureka
shared his experiences of
treating and curing epi-
lepsy in a very remote
rural area of the country
Ratan Nagar District Ch-
uru. The first camp was
started in 1994 at Ratan
Nagar District Churu
where 25 patients from
nearby areas attended it.
Now, after 30 years of his
journey of holding free
epilepsy camps in this re-
mote rural area, he is
holding free epilepsy
camps every 1st Tuesday
of every month with the
target of treating and cur-
ing epilepsy until now
346 camps have been
held and the number
of registrations has
increased to 8534
patients. Every
month around
500-600 patients
visit the camp,
more than 50% of
which are from Ra-
jasthan, while the rest
come from different
states of the country like
Punjab, Haryana, Uttar
Pradesh, Madhya
Pradesh, Bihar and
evenAssam. In these
camps, all the pa-
tients are exam-
ined and given
free medicines for 1 full
month every
month and
free food.
To remove
the various
stigmas and
m i s b e l i e f s
about epilepsy,
our counsellor ser-
vices, exhibitions,
pamphlets, and tv
shows are organised. In a
Door-to-door survey
done in 2005, the preva-
lence of epilepsy found in
rural setups was found to
be 3 per 1000. Dr Sureka
also shared that the coun-
selling services at the
camps have improved
awareness about various
misbeliefs about treating
epilepsy like having an at-
tack of epilepsy using a
shoe or an onion or a key
to treat the attack. As evi-
denced by his paper pub-
lished in a national jour-
nal. He also expressed
satisfaction with the re-
sponse to treatment in the
camps and said that
around 70-80% of sei-
zures can be controlled
fully with generic medi-
cines which are being
provided in the camps
free of cost. For his work
on epilepsy, his name fig-
ures in the Guinness book
ofrecords,LimcaBookof
records, International
Book of records and India
Book of Records. For the
welfare of epileptics, he
has launched a mobile
app “Mirgi Samjho”
which can be downloaded
free from Playstore.
According to him, each
state should have a rural
epilepsy model in which
a day should be assigned
weekly or monthly at
CHC and district-level
hospitals where patients
with epilepsy can visit
and can be given free
medicines for one month
every month. According
to Dr Sureka, availability
and compliance with
drugs are the most impor-
tant factor in controlling
epilepsy.

tre show ‘Main Jo Karti
Kyu Karti’ on Friday
evening at JKK. In the
program, five women
folk musicians from Ra-
jasthan shared their
journey and experiences
through a special per-
formance. During the
event, songs related to
the memories of their
life such as childhood,
friendship, family, love,
etc, were presented in a
unique way. The objec-
tive of the event was to
celebrate womanhood
and their artistic identi-
ties.
The program attempt-
ed a poetic experience
which aimed to show-
case women in a unique
perspective. The perfor-
mances highlighted the
comical and notorious
yet innocent side of
women. Women folk
artistes who presented
in the program included
Hanifa Khan Mangani-
yar, Kamla Devi Bhatt,
Mamta Sapera, Mewa
Sapera, and Prem Kan-
war Dangi. On this oc-
casion, Director, Jaipur
Virasat Foundation
(JVF), Rakshat Hooja
mentioned that as a part
of this event, a four-day
residential workshop

In a mesmerizing and extraordinary event, a unique
wedding ceremony took place at the Gaushala of
Fatehpur Raj Pijrapol Society. The union of a cow and
a bull captured the attention of the crowd, creating a
spectacle of traditional rituals and cultural significance.
Accompanied by five learned priests, the couple
exchanged vows and embarked on a lifelong journey
together. The groom, a majestic Tharpar breed bull, was
specially brought from Suratgarh in Ganganagar district,
Rajasthan. The wedding followed the same rituals and
customs as traditional human marriages, symbolizing the
sacred bond of love and commitment. This extraordinary
event showcased the deep reverence and respect for
animals in the local community.

Iron Man Triathlon “Asia Pacific
Championship”, held in Cairns,
Queensland, Australia recently.
The maximum time limit for
competitors to complete the
triathlon was 16 and half hours
to earn the title of “Ironman”.
Col Lamba y completed the full
Ironman at Cairns in 15 hours
and 24 minutes.
