Unit Plan
Cheyenne Meyer
Analyze the Learner
 General- 9th grade health class, 20 students (12
females, 8 males). 3 students in the class identify
with ADD.
 Learning Competencies: Students should have a
basic understanding of first aid.
 Learning Styles: Majority of the class are visual or
hands on learners but a few are auditory.
Objective
 Students will explain the topics that they have
learned about first aid through the use of readings,
videos, games, and presentations by the end of the
week with 100% accuracy.
Day by Day
 Day 1- Class discussion and topic overview. My
presentation on overview of the week.
 Day 2- Watch and listen to a first aid video on cuts/scrapes
and how to treat them (YouTube). Have review questions at
the end of the video.
 Day 3: Basic overview of different types of burns. Read an
article out loud and have discussion about burns.
 Day 4: Introduction to broken bones. Play a game to
identify the different kinds of broken bones.
 Day 5- Slide show presentation to review what has been
learned from the week. After that students will make their
own project on what they have learned in PowerPoint, on a
poster with drawings or images, or by writing a paper.
Use of Technology
 I will need the computer to create a presentation
and also for when I utilize YouTube.
 Make sure I have enough color pencils and markers
for the matching game. Also have a personal copy
printed out for each group.
 Make sure all of my presentations are saved and
able to be pulled up the day of class.
