Trip to Finland from March 9-September 8, 2010. The students had various adventures and experiences during their trip. They visited schools, dairy farms, electronics factories, forests, and cities. They went shopping for souvenirs, tried local foods like toast with sugar, and went bowling or to spas. It was a long journey home, with 5 hours on a train to Helsinki, a flight to Amsterdam, and then another flight back to Oporto. The students thanked all those involved in the Comenius Project for the fabulous learning experience in Finland.

Sunday… (day 3…) Sunday… Departure day… The first “adventure” happens in Santo Tirso when Leila at her house let her suitcase fall in the stairs and broke the wheels!  It was time to go to the airport where there were our teachers waiting for us (Sónia Serra e Diana Silva). The first thing we did was the check in. Meanwhile teachers and parents talked about the trip… We went then to the departure lounge where we made some shopping We were all very anxious and curious about everything. It was time to board…..!

4. Our first flight was to Lisbon. This was the first time we were in a plane! It was a funny trip! The photos show everything…

6. When we arrived to Lisbon, there was a mishape…There was no mango airline for us so we had to walk from the plane to the airport. In Lisbon we had dinner and amused ourselves! The next flight was too long! The flight to Helsinki would take 4 hours and 10 minutes.

9. Monday… (day 4…) We landed in Helsinki by Dawn… We got our suitcases and went to the bus stop. There was a heat shock! It was too cold! The bus arrived and we went to the railwaystation to catch a train that would take us to Alavieska. When we arrived to Alavieska we had a snack and then we went to the school with the headmaster. The school was modern and different… We tasted some toasts with sugar in the top. They were very good! It was then that we met our friends who would receive us during that week.

11. Tuesday… (Day 5) We visited the schools. So different from ours! In the afternoon we went to kokkola and there was a guide who explained us everything we saw. We ate in the city and we went shopping. We bought some souvenirs! Then we went back “home”.

13. Wednesday(Day 6) On Wednesday we visited a dairy. We had to put plastic shoes in our feet in order not to dirty ourselves. Then, electronics, where we made an equipment that produced a strange sound… Once again we went shopping and had dinner.

15. Thursday(Day 7) On Thursday the last day we went to the forest. A very clean one… When our walk finished we had a snack and ate sausages and bananas.  In the end of the day, some of us went bowling and others went to a spa.

17. Friday(Day 8) The day of the return! Five hours in a train to Helsinki… A flight to Amsterdam……Another one to O’porto. It was FABULOUS!
