Terms of Reference:
 Measurement and Cost Estimation of all CDF funded projects in Ndola.
 Conducting conditional surveys for the assessment of the required materials and

KANSENJI MOURNERS SHELTER.
5. Preparation of the conditional survey report for maintenance preparations of
NDOLA LIBRARY.

Terms of reference
 Interpretation of technical information and advising Chinese and Zambian site
personnel.
 Documentation/ Writing correspondences such as submitting daily and subsequent
monthly reports to the practice office.
 Interaction with other project members.
 Communicating/ attending project and contract meetings.
 Representing the Practice Office on other remote issues.
 Other technical and administrative duties assigned to me.
 Monitoring the batching of concrete and ensuring concrete test cubes were made
from the mix whenever concrete was being placed.
 Reviewing test results for recommendation of actions to be taken.
 Monitoring the works and ensuring only materials that conformed to the designed
technical specifications were used.
 Ensuring an acceptable construction method was used during the entire
construction process.
 Providing/offering solutions and information to the contractor when information on
the drawings was insufficient.
 Offering a chain of communication with the practice office to provide information
and/or instructions when the instruction would change the scope of works.
 Taking site measurements to be used as a basis for evaluating claims.
 Ensuring there were no unnecessary stoppages that would delay the works.
 Communicating all changes that were made to the scope of works, drawings and the
resultant changes to the BOQ quantities to the Quantity Surveyor.
 Documenting and reporting all site queries and instructions to the project Quantity
Surveyor.
 Monitoring and documenting all on-site material deliveries.
 Performing pilot site inspections for scaffoldings, formwork, electrical conduits and
steel reinforcement.
My main responsibility was to make sure work was carried out to the client's standards,
specification and schedule. In most cases, the specifications were prepared by the
architects or engineers employed by the client. I made sure that the correct materials and
workmanship were used and that the client was given quality work and value for money.
