of threats. This kind of intelligent solutions is covered in the context of Data Science for
Cybersecurity. Data Science provides a significant role in cybersecurity by utilising the power
of data (and big data), high-performance computing and data mining (and machine learning) to
protect users against cybercrimes. For this purpose, a successful data science project requires
an effective methodology to cover all issues and provide adequate resources. In this paper, we
are introducing popular data science methodologies and will compare them in accordance with
cybersecurity challenges. A comparison discussion has also delivered to explain methodologies’
strengths and weaknesses in case of cybersecurity projects.

This document reviews combining cryptography and steganography techniques for secure file transfer over the internet. It begins with an abstract discussing how encrypting data using cryptography makes it unreadable ciphertext, but the data is still in a detectable format. Steganography hides data within carrier files like images, audio or video, so the data is not detectable even if the carrier file is intercepted. The document proposes that combining cryptography and steganography provides two layers of security, as the encrypted data is hidden within a carrier file.
The document then reviews various cryptography and steganography algorithms and techniques. It discusses how asymmetrical cryptography algorithms like RSA can encrypt data using a public key, while symmetrical algorithms like AES encrypt in blocks.
Applying a Systematic Review on Adaptive Security for DSPL
Providing security and privacy to Dynamic Software Product Lines (DSPL) is very challenging.
DSPL is becoming the system with high vulnerability in which the security is a difficult task and
critical for it to operate. Adaptive security is able to automatically select security mechanisms
and their parameters at runtime in order to preserve the required security level in a changing
environment. This paper presents a literature review of security adaptation approaches for
DSPL, and evaluates them in terms of how well they support critical security services and what
level of adaptation they achieve. This work will be done following the Systematic Review
approach. Our results concluded that the research field of security approaches for DSPL is still
poor of methods and metrics for evaluating and comparing different techniques.

This document summarizes the results of Work Package 6 which developed methods and tools for GDPR compliance through privacy engineering. The key results include:
1) Demonstrating the feasibility of using assurance principles from safety engineering for privacy engineering and modelling privacy regulations as reference frameworks.
2) Developing a tool-supported method for handling multiple privacy reference frameworks using mapping models.
3) Providing reusable privacy assurance patterns contained in a knowledge base, along with reference framework models and mapping models between standards.
4) Releasing tool features and an open source knowledge base to support the privacy assurance method.
Cluster Based Access Privilege Management Scheme for Databases
Knowledge discovery is carried out using the data mining techniques. Association rule mining,
classification and clustering operations are carried out under data mining. Clustering method is used to group up the
records based on the relevancy. Distance or similarity measures are used to estimate the transaction relationship.
Census data and medical data are referred as micro data. Data publish schemes are used to provide private data for
analysis. Privacy preservation is used to protect private data values. Anonymity is considered in the privacy
preservation process.
Data values are allowed to authorized users using the access control models. Privacy Protection Mechanism
(PPM) uses suppression and generalization of relational data to anonymize and satisfy privacy needs. Accuracyconstrained privacy-preserving access control framework is used to manage access control in relational database. The
access control policies define selection predicates available to roles while the privacy requirement is to satisfy the kanonymity or l-diversity. Imprecision bound constraint is assigned for each selection predicate. k-anonymous
Partitioning with Imprecision Bounds (k-PIB) is used to estimate accuracy and privacy constraints. Role-based Access
Control (RBAC) allows defining permissions on objects based on roles in an organization. Top Down Selection
Mondrian (TDSM) algorithm is used for query workload-based anonymization. The Top Down Selection Mondrian
(TDSM) algorithm is constructed using greedy heuristics and kd-tree model. Query cuts are selected with minimum
bounds in Top-Down Heuristic 1 algorithm (TDH1). The query bounds are updated as the partitions are added to the
output in Top-Down Heuristic 2 algorithm (TDH2). The cost of reduced precision in the query results is used in TopDown Heuristic 3 algorithm (TDH3). Repartitioning algorithm is used to reduce the total imprecision for the queries.
The privacy preserved access privilege management scheme is enhanced to provide incremental mining
features. Data insert, delete and update operations are connected with the partition management mechanism. Cell level
access control is provided with differential privacy method. Dynamic role management model is integrated with the
access control policy mechanism for query predicates.

This document presents an empirical study that investigates developers' program exploration strategies. The goal is to understand how developers navigate through a program's entities in order to help them more efficiently. The study analyzes developers' interaction histories to identify common exploration strategies and examines relationships between strategies and other factors like task type and expertise level. The results could help evaluate developer performance, improve comprehension models, and guide less experienced developers.

Simultaneously Supporting Privacy and Auditing in Cloud Computing Systems
Over the last few years, cloud services have been steadily gaining traction in their use by commercial and non-commercial entities. As more and more sensitive or valuable processes, business functions and data move into the cloud, the need to improve threat identification and response, via auditing cloud transactions, increases. At the same time, the need for cloud users to protect the security and privacy of their resources has also intensified. In this paper, the problem of simultaneously supporting privacy and auditing in cloud systems is studied. Specifically, the paper discusses the guiding principles, fundamental concepts, and threat models for current cloud computing systems. Finally, we propose infrastructure that exploits a novel thin layer between the client and the cloud service provider to ensure that data storage, operation, and auditing does not reveal sensitive client information.

Computers are crucial instruments providing a competitive edge to organizations that have adopted them. Their pervasive presence has presented a novel challenge to information security, specifically threats emanating from privileged employees. Various solutions have been tried to address the vice, but no exhaustive solution has been found. Due to their elusive nature, proactive strategies have been proposed of which detection using Machine Learning models has been favoured. The choice of algorithm, datasets and metrics are cornerstones of model performance and hence, need to be addressed. Although multiple studies on ML for insider threat detection have been done, none has provided a comprehensive analysis of algorithms, datasets and metrics for development of Insider Threat Detection models. This study conducts a comprehensive systematic literature review using reputable databases to answer the research questions posed. Search strings, inclusion and exclusion criteria were set for eligibility of articles published in the last decade.

The Dynamic Software Product Line (DSPL) is becoming the system with high vulnerability and high confidentiality in which the adaptive security is a challenging task and critical for it to operate. Adaptive security is able to automatically select security mechanisms and their parameters at runtime in order to preserve the required security level in a changing environment. This paper presents a literature review of
security adaptation approaches for DSPL, and evaluates them in terms of how well they support critical
security services and what level of adaptation they achieve. This work will be done following the Systematic
Review approach. Our results concluded that the research field of security approaches for DSPL is still
poor of methods and metrics for evaluating and comparing different techniques. The comparison reveals
that the existing adaptive security approaches widely cover the information gathering. However, comparative approaches do not describe how to decide on a method for performing adaptive security DSPL or how to provide knowledge input for adapting security. Therefore, these areas of research are promising.
Cyb 5675 class project final
This document summarizes a student project that aims to evaluate various data mining classifiers on network intrusion detection. The student filters the KDD99 intrusion detection dataset and divides it into training and test sets. Five classifiers - Naive Bayes, J48, Decision Table, JRip and SMO - are tested on the training set using cross-validation. Performance results for each classifier on detecting different attack categories (DoS, Probe, U2R, R2L) will be analyzed to propose an ideal intrusion detection model.

Simultaneously Supporting Privacy and Auditing in Cloud Computing Systems
Over the last few years, cloud services have been steadily gaining traction in their use by commercial and non-commercial entities. As more and more sensitive or valuable processes, business functions and data move into the cloud, the need to improve threat identification and response, via auditing cloud transactions, increases. At the same time, the need for cloud users to protect the security and privacy of their resources has also intensified. In this paper, the problem of simultaneously supporting privacy and auditing in cloud systems is studied. Specifically, the paper discusses the guiding principles, fundamental concepts, and threat models for current cloud computing systems. Finally, we propose infrastructure that exploits a novel thin layer between the client and the cloud service provider to ensure that data storage, operation, and auditing does not reveal sensitive client information.

Computers are crucial instruments providing a competitive edge to organizations that have adopted them. Their pervasive presence has presented a novel challenge to information security, specifically threats emanating from privileged employees. Various solutions have been tried to address the vice, but no exhaustive solution has been found. Due to their elusive nature, proactive strategies have been proposed of which detection using Machine Learning models has been favoured. The choice of algorithm, datasets and metrics are cornerstones of model performance and hence, need to be addressed. Although multiple studies on ML for insider threat detection have been done, none has provided a comprehensive analysis of algorithms, datasets and metrics for development of Insider Threat Detection models. This study conducts a comprehensive systematic literature review using reputable databases to answer the research questions posed. Search strings, inclusion and exclusion criteria were set for eligibility of articles published in the last decade.

STATE OF THE ART SURVEY ON DSPL SECURITY CHALLENGES
The Dynamic Software Product Line (DSPL) is becoming the system with high vulnerability and high confidentiality in which the adaptive security is a challenging task and critical for it to operate. Adaptive security is able to automatically select security mechanisms and their parameters at runtime in order to preserve the required security level in a changing environment. This paper presents a literature review of
security adaptation approaches for DSPL, and evaluates them in terms of how well they support critical
security services and what level of adaptation they achieve. This work will be done following the Systematic
Review approach. Our results concluded that the research field of security approaches for DSPL is still
poor of methods and metrics for evaluating and comparing different techniques. The comparison reveals
that the existing adaptive security approaches widely cover the information gathering. However, comparative approaches do not describe how to decide on a method for performing adaptive security DSPL or how to provide knowledge input for adapting security. Therefore, these areas of research are promising.
Cyb 5675 class project final
This document summarizes a student project that aims to evaluate various data mining classifiers on network intrusion detection. The student filters the KDD99 intrusion detection dataset and divides it into training and test sets. Five classifiers - Naive Bayes, J48, Decision Table, JRip and SMO - are tested on the training set using cross-validation. Performance results for each classifier on detecting different attack categories (DoS, Probe, U2R, R2L) will be analyzed to propose an ideal intrusion detection model.

Summary overview of my experience in creative problem solving
Creative problem solving is an important tool in any organization for keeping good working relations in the workplace. It involves all the parties concerned with the problem hence encouraging different forms of creating thinking like group solutions, and brainstorming among others[footnoteRef:1]. In the past, I have been involved in numerous situations that required creative problem-solving. I realized that creative problem solving plays a crucial role in the process of making sure employees are able to address the issues they face as they discharge their work obligations. In such situations, I could engage all the employees and ensure they all participate in the process of coming up with the best solution. This could entail employees having representatives because all employees could not be engaged. The representatives would give their opinions concerning the best way to address the problem. I remember one day we had issues with increased costs of operating and the organization had to come up with strategies that could help in enhancing efficiency. All the staff members in my department were engaged to suggest their solutions to the problem. This is the time I realized the power of working in groups when addressing a problem affecting all the employees. In the decision-making process, giving the parties involved the chance to give their opinions concerning the problem makes others gain some more insights concerning the issue at hand. Engagement in problem-solving provides the opportunity for the members affected by the problem to share on the best strategies that can be embraced to address the issue. The different solutions can be analyzed and evaluated with the aim of settling on the best solution that is innovative and creative. [1: Proctor, Tony. I consider creative problem solving to be an important way of helping the decision makers to think outside the box. This entails thinking outside confines of what is acceptable to obtain the best solution for the problem. on the Internal Dynamics of Cross-Functional Product

Drawing on the path-goal theory of leadership, the present study examines the effect
of team leader characteristics on an array of conflict resolution behavior, collab-
oration, and communication patterns of cross-functional new product development
(NPD) teams. A hierarchical linear model analysis based on a survey of 246 mem-
bers from 64 NPD teams suggests that participative management style and initi-
ation of goal structure by the team leader exert the strongest influence on internal
team dynamics. Both these leadership characteristics had a positive effect on func-
tional conflict resolution, collaboration, and communication quality within the NPD
team while discouraging dysfunctional conflict resolution and formal communica-
tions. Comparatively, team leader’s consideration, initiation of process structure,
and position had a surprisingly weak effect on internal team dynamics. Further, the
findings underscore the differential effects on various dimensions of team dynamics,
the importance of controlling for project and team characteristics, and the use of
multilevel modeling for studying nested phenomena related to NPD teams. Impli-
cations of these findings are discussed.
Introduction
R
ecognizing the long-term competitive advan-
tage offered by successful new product
development (NPD), organizations are rely-
ing heavily on cross-functional teams to improve their
NPD processes (Barczak and Wilemon, 1992; Griffin,
1997; McDonough, 2000; Sarin and Mahajan, 2001;
Sarin and McDermott, 2003; Ulrich and Eppinger,
1995; Wind and Mahajan, 1997). Typically these
teams, composed of individuals drawn from a variety
of functional specialties within the organization, are
responsible for taking a product from conceptualiza-
tion to commercialization.
Growing popularity and anecdotal evidence notwith-
standing, the results achieved from the use of cross-
functional teams in NPD efforts have been decidedly
mixed (Barczak and Wilemon, 1989; Katzenbach and
Smith, 1993; Sarin and Mahajan, 2001). Among other
reasons, this lack of consistent success has been at-
tributed to poor project leadership, which often fails
to appreciate the diversity of cross-functional teams
and mismanages team dynamics—essential compo-
nents to the performance of any NPD team (Henke,
Krachenberg, and Lyons, 1993; Parker, 1994; Robbins
and Finley, 1995).
Effective project leadership has been identified as
one of the most important mechanisms not only for
managing team dynamics but also for steering the
teams successfully and efficiently through the new prod-
uct development process (McDonough and Griffin,
