This document describes a hostel management system created by four students to improve efficiency and overcome drawbacks of manual systems. The system allows students to book hostels, register, manage their data and billing online. It uses technologies like HTML, CSS, Bootstrap for the front end and PHP and MySQL for the back end. Key features include login, room booking, student and employee management, billing, and a notice board. The system aims to provide a more organized and user-friendly experience for hostel administration and students.

2. INTRODUCTION:
This is a hostel management system is developed for managing various
activity of hostel. This particular idea is to deal with problems students
face in hostel. With this system in place we can improve the efficiency of
the system thus overcome the drawbacks of the existing manual system.
This system is designed in favour of the students welfare and for providing
a more homely environment. This system is most unique from others as
the mess of this hostel totally depends on the students choice .Students
choice and their comfort is main priority of this hostel .This hostel focuses
best on disciplines and ethics .

3. ABSTRACT:
Hostel management system is a web application that is created for
booking hostel for individuals. This will limit manual work and also
make hostel allocation so easier for students and administrators. It
manages data in the database and retrieves it whenever required.
We design the system at the request of hostel management through
this they cannot required people to handle things and calculate things.
The developed system overcomes the drawback of manual hostel
management it said to be more user friendly, GUI oriented, reliable,
efficient and secure with access control mechanism. The old technique
with limitation have impacted educational system. Hence we are
developing one.
Technologies like bootstrap will be used considering all the requirements
as per hostel need .

4. LITERATURE REVIEW:

The main objective of the Hostel Management System is to
manage the details of Rent, Allot, Hostel, Rooms, Payments.
It manages all the information about Rent, Beds, Payments,
Rent. The project is totally built at administrative end and thus
only the administrator is guaranteed the access. The purpose
of the project is to build an application program to reduce the
manual work for managing the Rent, Allot , Beds, Hostel.

6. Brief overview of the technology:
Front end: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
HTML: HTML is used to create and save web document.
CSS : (Cascading Style Sheets) Create attractive Layout
Bootstrap : responsive design mobile friendly site
JavaScript: it is a programming language, commonly use with
web browsers.
Back end: PHP, mysql
PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) is a technology that allows
software developers to create dynamically generated web
pages, in HTML, XML, or other document types, as per client
request. PHP is open source software.
MySQL; is a database, widely used for accessing querying,
updating, and managing data in database.

7. USE CASE DIAGRAM OF HOSTEL
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:
A diagram that basically summarizes the activities that are
done in hostel management system and about its user
details.
Diagram consist of processes (use case) users(actor).
In this diagram we use:
 INLCUDE: indicates that sub processes of main process
must be included to complete the task
 EXTEND: declares that sub processes can only be
performed when we needed.

10. CONCLUSION:
• Hence to overcome the manual methods for Hostel booking
we have come up with a solution to make it advanced
using technologies like HTML,CSS JS PHP MYSQL and
BOOTSTRAP. This project can be used as hybrid all the
hostels can register themselves and the students can book
it according to their needs. Also we have added grievance
and filter functionality to our project. With a proper Future
scope it will be good in use.
