Chinese and American schools differ in several ways. In China, classes are larger, students eat lunch at home instead of the cafeteria, and have more homework daily. American schools have smartboards, students write their information when using the bathroom, and teachers do not live at the school. The author discusses their kindergarten teacher in China, Ms. Bingzhen Wang, and their helpful ESL teacher in the US, Mr. Artigliere.

3. School in China
• School in China is different then school in
the United States. In China, the classes are
very large. Students eat lunch at home
instead of the lunchroom. Students have
more homework everyday too.

4. School in America
• In American schools, the teacher does not
live at school. The class has a closet where
we can put clothes. In the class, we have
Smartboards, where words come out. In
the American school, if you want to go to
the bathroom, you need to write your
name, time, and class number in a book.

5. My Teacher in China
• I went to school in China from 2007 to
2008. My teacher’s name was Bingzhen
Wang. She has yellow skin, and under her
black glasses are a pair of big eyes, a longer
nose and a mouth. She loves Hello Kitty,
and has lots of things from Hello Kitty. She
was my teacher. My teacher was very kind,
and taught the right way. We like her, we
thought she was the best teacher!

6. My teacher in the U.S
• My teachers in the U.S. are very nice. My
ESL teacher’s name is Mr. Artigliere. ESL
means English as a second Language. Mr.
Artigliere helps me make complete
sentences and use punctuation. He lets us
write stories and I learn English and more
in his class.
