3. This mixture of different earth tones create an organic environment and the textures are strong for a natural feel.
4. The inspiration for this presentation board says “Hollywood” and that is evidently shown in the rhinestones, all black and silver furniture, and rich carpet colors.
5. This space makes the viewer feel calm and comfortable. The style is very modern and neat. The pearl flooring makes this small space seem larger and the simple task light and drop lighting adds comfort. The constant same wall color draws more attention to the window and keeps the eye moving around the room.
6. There is a contrast between the bright colors chosen for the wall and for some furniture to the dark colors chosen for the carpet, tile, and furniture accessories. This contrast and the different animal prints for furnishings create a rich balance.
7. The furniture, door, ceiling angles, walls, and symmetrical ceiling lights show a great deal of modern touch. The types of surfaces and patterns chosen for the space are natural but paired with the furniture make it almost futuristic.
8. This room is a great place to do business. The straight-back chairs keep the attention up. The organized layout of the room and plenty of natural and overhead ceiling light makes this a great thinking space. The emphasis is definitely to the table, being in the center of the room.
9. This space is beautiful and spacious. The placement of the houseplants and the constant surrounding logs creates a harmonious room.
10. The rectilinear angles of the bar and stools counteracts the shapes of the stones in the walls. The standing plant also blends with the natural underground feel of the rest of the room.
11. Class Critique This class was, overall, a very educational experience. The assignments were very easy to comprehend. My favorite assignment was the “Terms” assignments, I loved learning all the vocabulary. My least favorite was the “Critique” because I just didn’t feel like I was able to correctly explain the room or space. The videos and the CD-Rom were very helpful, I would not have been able to do some of the assignments without watching them. I took 6 online classes this semester for the first time, this being one of them. I have to say, it’s a lot harder than I thought it would be. It was difficult to keep track of all the assignments and quizzes due, and I thank Bobbi for being so patient with me. I think I do better in a traditional classroom though. I’m not sure what I want to do with my life yet, for now I’m just trying things out. Interior Design is so much fun, I never knew all the intricacies there was to it. After I finish my general education classes, I hope to maybe pursue this further. Overall, this class was a lot of fun and hard work, and I really learned a lot. Thank you!
