2. PURPOSE
• The main purpose of my film magazine idea is to: entertain the readers with
new and special information about different movies genres each month.
• My magazine intends to also offer information on events and new trends
relating to film genres, for example different film genre releases in North
London cinemas venues.
3. FORM AND GENRES OF THE PRODUCT
• My product will be in the form of a printed version of the film magazine which
will be 45 pages [90 overall],and also an online version for readers to subscribe
to.
• The online magazine will cos £2.00 and the paper magazine will cost £3.00
because it is more expensive to produce a magazine on paper then to put it
online
• The magazine's genre will mostly be a film magazine and specifically, a
magazine focusing on different film genres , with a North London focus in the
production and audience appeal.
4. CONTENT
• Magazine will produce a range of relevant content for the readers.
• For example, I will include Q&A, articles and interviews ideas on different film
genres , for example a timeline of specific genres, recent film releases, in depth
pieces on the development of film genres.
• My magazine would promote Netflix the reason for that is that Netflix is a
famous company that is well known all around the world, Netflix also releases
new films every week and that could be very helpful for my magazine to find
new movies and genres to write about each month.
5. USP
• My magazine's USP is the special offers for the subscribers/ readers to sign up
for new streaming services and discounts to film releases in North London
venues.
• Inside the magazine each month there will be a QR code that enters you to a
contest to win 2 tickets for a new film that is coming up on that month [each
month there will be 1-5 winners and will be about different genre movie each
month]
• The magazine will promote a new film release in the genre focused on for that
month.
• My genre magazine will feature film news on productions only by independent
film companies. These will be promoted through our streaming service.
6. TARGET AUDIENCE
• The magazine's primary target audience is teenagers [12-18] for all genders,
religions and ethnic groups. this would be targeting classes B to C2, this is
because they have a wider income, and the people of these classes will be more
interested and cultured in the different genres that my magazine has to offer.
• The magazine's secondary target audience is North London independent
companies, who are more likely to be older but still interested about the
different content that the magazine has to offer.
7. DISTRIBUTION
• My magazine will enjoy both a printed physical distribution, and a distribution
online via subscription.
• The printed version will be distributed in newsagents and on posters outside of
the train stations. It is more likely to find my secondary target audience there as
they are older. And will probably access the magazine either in print alone or
attempt to dip into both an online and printed version as they may not be as
confident with online media.
• The online version will be marketed on social media channels which young
audiences are more likely to use, such as Instagram, twitter and snapchat.
8. RESOURCES AND PERSONNEL - RESOURCES
• I would need a computer, mouse and a keyboard to edit the magazine, adding pictures and
writing on it.
• I would need the internet to research different information and pictures about different genres.
• I would need pens and papers to draw the hand drawn sketches of the magazine.
• I would need the photoshop to edit the pictures that I took.
• I would need to use the dafont website to find the different fonts that will go on my magazine.
• I would need a camera to take pictures for my magazine.
• I would need a memory card so i don't lose all the pictures that have been taken on the
camera.
9. RESOURCES AND PERSONNEL - PERSONNEL
• I would need the editor to edit each page of the magazine.
• I would need the designers for making sure that the actress outfits and locations match
with the the magazines theme each month and that the magazine itself is looking good
and not too messy.
• I would need the actors for each month to be on the front cover of the magazine and an
interview.
• I would need the photographer to take that pictures for the magazine.
• I would need the body copywriter to inform customers what the magazine is about and
why they should purchase the magazine.
10. MARKETING METHODS
• Marketing for the printed version will be in venues where the target audience
will see it.
• Younger audiences are likely to be found on social media, but also in venue
such as youth clubs, film clubs at school and in local community events.
• Some printed leaflets in these venues will market the idea of the magazine to
younger audiences.
11. MOODBOARD
• As my magazine will be
promoting a new
independent film from one
genre on the front cover (and
other genres within cover
lines and throughout the
magazine), I have produced a
horror moodboard. This
include the style of fonts,
colors and images.
12. NAME OF
MAGAZINE WITH
FONT
• I have decided to choose the Atrium
(Italic) font as I feel it is easier to read and
looks more professional. I chose the name
film vibes for my magazine because on
each magazine you get different vibe from
a different film. For example one month it
can be about horror and you will get scary
and creepy vibes but the month after that
it will be rom-com based so you will get
happy and funny vibes.
13. COVER LINE FONT
• The cover line will be change on
every magazine so it will match better
the content of the magazine
14. BODY COPY FONT
• My body copy font called “Georgia” .
• I chose this font because I feel like it will Suit every genre and it is easy to read.
16. COLOUR SCHEME
• In each section of the magazine,
there will be a different genre in the
genre colour [rom-com will be pink
or red, horror will be black or Grey... ].
• For the first magazine, the colour
scheme on the front cover and
double page spread with be horror
related, such as red, black and grey.
