Designation Reflects Presence of Fiber-Based, High-Speed Internet
FRANKLIN, Ohio (Feb. 16, 2016) — AT&T* is joining Franklin community leaders and the
Schueler Group to announce that the Heritage Business Park and Franklin Business Park in
Franklin have been designated AT&T Fiber Ready. This designation is part of AT&T’s
continuing efforts to drive economic development and investment in Ohio.
“The effort to attract new businesses to communities is increasingly competitive,” said State
Representative Ron Maag. “As we continue improving the business-friendly environment in
Ohio, the AT&T Fiber Ready designation gives us a clear way to highlight the modern
communications services available here.”
AT&T has been deploying high-speed fiber-optic infrastructure across Ohio for years. The
AT&T Fiber Ready designation provides a new tool for economic development leaders.
Using it, they can emphasize that fiber-based connections are available in these facilities.
“When a business is considering a new location, company leadership consider
transportation infrastructure, ease of access to utilities, the quality of the local workforce,
and the presence of fiber-optics and high-speed communications infrastructure,” said
Schueler Group Executive Vice President Joe Kramer. The Schueler Group is the manager
and developer of both business parks. “The AT&T Fiber Ready designation gives us a
valuable tool that can attract more employers to our area.”
“Franklin is home to the first business park to receive this designation in Ohio,” said Franklin
City Manager Sonny Lewis. “I believe this shows the great work being done here to
encourage economic development. The AT&T Fiber Ready designation will help us recruit
other companies to invest and locate here.”
