AT&T Brings 30 Upgrades to Wireless Network
in Portage County
Capacity and Speed Enhancements Made to Local Mobile Network
RAVENNA, Ohio, Jan. 30, 2017 — AT&T* has upgraded its wireless network within Portage
County with 30 enhancements during 2016. The completed improvements include adding
greater capacity and speeds to cell towers within the county. Across Ohio in 2016, we made
more than 1,900 upgrades to our wireless network.
"We appreciate the continued investment AT&T makes in our area,” said Ravenna Mayor Frank
Seman. “These network upgrades will benefit our community for years to come.”
“Our Ohio employees are focused on bringing a better mobile experience to Portage County
and across the state. Our investment in the local wireless network is one way we’re
accomplishing that,” said Adam Grzybicki, president, AT&T Ohio.
These upgrades include more than a dozen added layers of radio frequency spectrum. We also
expanded the number of radio frequencies used on more than 10 towers. That increases
speeds for people using these towers.
