AT&T Brings Faster Network to Northwest Ohio
Capacity and Speed Enhancements Made to Mobile Network in Fremont, Clyde, Napoleon
and Bryan areas
FREMONT, Ohio (Feb. 9, 2018) — AT&T* has upgraded its wireless network in the Fremont, Clyde,
Napoleon and Bryan areas. These recent improvements are designed to bring faster speeds to
more than a dozen cell towers. People using the network in these locations should have an
improved experience when watching videos, posting to social media or texting family and friends.
People using those towers will be using an expanded band of radio frequencies. It’s like adding
extra lanes to the roadway.
“It’s a point of pride for a community to offer faster cellular internet speeds,” said State Senator
Rob McColley. “These AT&T improvements show that our area is technology-focused, receiving
this type of important infrastructure investment.”
AT&T invested more than $1.4 billion in our Ohio wireless and wired networks during 2014-2016.
Henry, Sandusky and Williams counties also saw more than a dozen wireless network
enhancements in 2017.
“Our Ohio employees are focused on bringing a better mobile experience to Northwest Ohio and
across the state. Our investment in the local wireless network is one way we’re accomplishing
that,” said Nicolette Jaworski, External Affairs Director, AT&T Ohio.
We’re seeing increased data usage across our mobile network, especially at big events. In fact,
data on our mobile network has increased about 250,000% since 2007, and the majority of that
traffic is video.
Our 4G LTE network is essential to laying the foundation for our evolution to 5G. We are increasing
network speeds and capacity, as we continue to densify our wireless network through the
deployment of small cells and the use of advanced network technologies like carrier aggregation.
