The document outlines an opening scene for a film that will show the lives of two main characters, Tony and Chris, through a split screen. 2.  The film is about two peoples lives and the decisions
they make in terms of their carers. The underlying
message throughout this film is whether people are
happy in what they are doing.
 Our film opening will introduce the characters and
show a little bit about what they do in their day at work

3.  The shot will split into two equal size frames that run at the
same time on the screen.
 Left – Tony: The alarm clock sound will ring followed by a
close up of the alarm clock that shows a title of the film
such as the actors name. He will then get out of bed and
have breakfast. After this the character will then get
dressed and travel to work. The opening will show him
cycling to the station then a mid shot of him on the train.
The worker will then walk through Canary Wharf dressed
in a suit and then into a building and eventually an office.
A wide variety of shots will be used such as long shots of
him travelling and tracking shots. The actor will look upset
and tired which will show he isn’t the hero.

4.  Right - Chris: This will be the person who is loved
and is happy. Chris will have a nice family who
loves him and this will be shown by his family
hugging him and making him breakfast. Chris will
work in a pub and is liked by everyone there . He
will also walk to the shop and is greeted by
everyone there. The shot example of one door
closing and the other opens as showed in ‘Cape
Fear’ will be used in ours for both sequences.

5.  The target audience for our film opening will be
aimed at adults aged around 25. The reason we
have gone for this age is because the film revolves
around an adults lifestyle. Another reason we have
chosen this age is because we wanted to show that
you can have an unsuccessful job in terms of
income however you can still be happier than
someone who is earning a lot of money however
doesn't socialise with anyone.

6.  A company that would produce our film will be
‘Big Talk Productions’. The reason we are going to
ask them to produce our film is because they are
well known which will make our film hopefully
more popular and also they are very successful at
making films on low budgets and making huge
profits out of them like ‘Cape Fear’.

7.  The Double:
The inspiration that we collected from this film is the commute to
work. The shots that were taken of the person on the train were
good as they show the downside of him working in the city and
looks rather miserable. The poor body language of the person on
the train is mainly portrayed by the shots that are taken that
make him look small and insignificant.
Fighting To Survive:
This is a prelim task that has previously been done by another
student in a past year. It shows the idea of contrast between two
different types of characters. One character has everything going
for him, house, food, a bed to sleep in. The other character isn’t
so fortunate and has to live on the streets. It shows both
characters need to do what they need to do in order to survive.

8.  Tony is a business man that works up in the City on
London. He is very rich as he has a very prestigious job.
Although he may have everything he wants, money cannot
buy him happiness. The opening scene will show and
portray his journey to and from work.
 Chris is a very family orientated person. He is part of staff
that work in a pub close to where he lives. Everyone in the
community knows who Chris is due to his kind nature and
greets him every time they see him.
