FACTS ABOUT COVID-19

UNIVERSITAS BUDDI DHARMA
Coronavirus is a group of viruses that can cause disease in animals or humans. Several types of coronaviruses
are known to cause respiratory infections in humans ranging from cold coughs to more serious ones such as
Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). A new type of
Coronavirus has been found to cause COVID-19. (WHO, 2020).
The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, dry cough, and fatigue. Other symptoms that are less
common and may be experienced by some patients include aches and pains, nasal congestion, headaches,
conjunctivitis, sore throat, diarrhea, loss of sense or smell, skin rash, or discoloration of fingers or toes. The
symptoms experienced are usually mild and appear gradually. Some people become infected but only have mild
symptoms.
Most (around 80%) infected people recover without the need for special treatment. About 1 in 5 people infected
with COVID-19 suffer from severe pain and difficulty breathing. Elderly people and people with accompanying
medical conditions such as high blood pressure, heart and lung disorders, diabetes, or cancer are more likely to
experience more serious illness. However, anyone can be infected with COVID-19 and experience serious
illness. People of all ages who experience fever and / or cough accompanied by difficulty breathing / shortness
of breath, chest pain / pressure, or loss of ability to speak or move should immediately seek medical help. If
possible, it is advisable to contact a health care provider or health facility first, so patients can be directed to the
right health facility. (WHO, 2020).
In general, symptoms begin about five to six days after exposure, but when they occur they occur in 1-14 days.
(WHO, 2020).
Based on the information that I have symptoms that arise if we are infected with the corona virus one of which
is fever, shortness of breath, shivering and body aches.
Practicing hand and breathing hygiene all the time is very important, and is the best way to protect others and
yourself.
If possible, keep your distance from other people at least 1 meter especially if you are near someone who is
coughing or sneezing. Because some infected people may not show symptoms or symptoms are still mild,
maintaining a physical distance from everyone is the best effort if you are in an area where COVID-19 spreads.
(WHO, 2020).
Government Spokesperson for Corona Virus Handling Achmad Yurianto said, one of the requirements for the
enactment of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) is as an area to be the epicenter of Covid-19 transmission.
This article was published on Kompas.com with the title "Government: PSBB Enacted in the Covid-19
Transmission Center Area", (Kompas, 2020).
People can get COVID-19 from other people infected with this virus. COVID-19 can be spread mainly from
person to person through sparks from the nose or mouth that come out when people infected with COVID-19
cough, sneeze or talk. These sparks are relatively heavy, traveling not far and falling to the ground quickly.
People can be infected with COVID-19 if they breathe in a spark of someone infected with this virus.
Therefore, it is important for us to maintain a distance of at least 1 meter from others. These sparks can stick to
objects and other surfaces around people such as tables, door handles, and handrails. People can become
infected by touching an object or surface, then touching their eyes, nose or mouth. This is why it is important to
wash your hands regularly with soap and clean running water, or clean it with an alcohol-based antiseptic
liquid. (WHO, 2020).
so the point is we have to live clean, for example washing hands with soap, keeping a distance, using a mask so
that the virus does not spread quickly. and most importantly stay at home.
Are there vaccines, medications or treatments for COVID-19?
Although some western, traditional and home remedies can alleviate and reduce the mild symptoms of COVID-
19, there is no proven drug that can prevent or cure COVID-19. (WHO, 2020)
What's the progress so far?
Research continues today. Around 80 groups around the world have begun to carry out vaccine research and a
number of them have entered the clinical trial stage.
Experiments on humans were announced last month by scientists in Seattle, United States. This is very unusual
because it skips animal experiments to test its effectiveness.
Pharmaceutical companies Sanofi and GSK join forces to develop vaccines.
Australian scientists begin testing two vaccines against animals. This is the most comprehensive step so far by
testing animals. The researchers estimate human testing will be carried out at the end of April.
Oxford University researchers schedule to produce one million doses of the vaccine at the end of September
and begin testing in humans.
But it is not yet known how effective these vaccines are.
(BBC, 2020).
Effective ways to protect you and others from COVID-19 are:
• Wash hands regularly and thoroughly
• Avoid touching the eyes, nose and mouth
• Conduct ethics coughing and sneezing by covering the mouth and nose with folded elbows or tissues. If using
a tissue, dispose of it immediately after use and wash your hands.
• Keep a physical distance from others at least 1 meter (WHO, 2020).
According to the statements above, I conclude that, believe the news provided by WHO or from trusted sources,
do not trust people who are not trusted and there is no evidence. follow the protocol that was married by each
local / central government so that we avoid this virus and its spread is not more widespread.
This virus spreads very quickly, and therefore we must reduce its spread. This virus greatly affects human life.
as we see on TV news broadcasts many people who cannot eat because they are not allowed to work outside the
home, many people are laid off by the company due to lack of profits. therefore we must follow the protocol
given by the government to us society.
A few facts about the covid-19 virus. if there are words that are less pleasing, please forgive, and do not forget
to take care of your health.

  • 2. Coronavirus is a group of viruses that can cause disease in animals or humans. Several types of coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections in humans ranging from cold coughs to more serious ones such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). A new type of Coronavirus has been found to cause COVID-19. (WHO, 2020). The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, dry cough, and fatigue. Other symptoms that are less common and may be experienced by some patients include aches and pains, nasal congestion, headaches, conjunctivitis, sore throat, diarrhea, loss of sense or smell, skin rash, or discoloration of fingers or toes. The symptoms experienced are usually mild and appear gradually. Some people become infected but only have mild symptoms. Most (around 80%) infected people recover without the need for special treatment. About 1 in 5 people infected with COVID-19 suffer from severe pain and difficulty breathing. Elderly people and people with accompanying medical conditions such as high blood pressure, heart and lung disorders, diabetes, or cancer are more likely to experience more serious illness. However, anyone can be infected with COVID-19 and experience serious illness. People of all ages who experience fever and / or cough accompanied by difficulty breathing / shortness of breath, chest pain / pressure, or loss of ability to speak or move should immediately seek medical help. If possible, it is advisable to contact a health care provider or health facility first, so patients can be directed to the right health facility. (WHO, 2020). In general, symptoms begin about five to six days after exposure, but when they occur they occur in 1-14 days. (WHO, 2020). Based on the information that I have symptoms that arise if we are infected with the corona virus one of which is fever, shortness of breath, shivering and body aches. Practicing hand and breathing hygiene all the time is very important, and is the best way to protect others and yourself. If possible, keep your distance from other people at least 1 meter especially if you are near someone who is coughing or sneezing. Because some infected people may not show symptoms or symptoms are still mild, maintaining a physical distance from everyone is the best effort if you are in an area where COVID-19 spreads. (WHO, 2020). Government Spokesperson for Corona Virus Handling Achmad Yurianto said, one of the requirements for the enactment of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) is as an area to be the epicenter of Covid-19 transmission. This article was published on Kompas.com with the title "Government: PSBB Enacted in the Covid-19 Transmission Center Area", (Kompas, 2020). People can get COVID-19 from other people infected with this virus. COVID-19 can be spread mainly from
  • 3. person to person through sparks from the nose or mouth that come out when people infected with COVID-19 cough, sneeze or talk. These sparks are relatively heavy, traveling not far and falling to the ground quickly. People can be infected with COVID-19 if they breathe in a spark of someone infected with this virus. Therefore, it is important for us to maintain a distance of at least 1 meter from others. These sparks can stick to objects and other surfaces around people such as tables, door handles, and handrails. People can become infected by touching an object or surface, then touching their eyes, nose or mouth. This is why it is important to wash your hands regularly with soap and clean running water, or clean it with an alcohol-based antiseptic liquid. (WHO, 2020). so the point is we have to live clean, for example washing hands with soap, keeping a distance, using a mask so that the virus does not spread quickly. and most importantly stay at home. Are there vaccines, medications or treatments for COVID-19? Although some western, traditional and home remedies can alleviate and reduce the mild symptoms of COVID- 19, there is no proven drug that can prevent or cure COVID-19. (WHO, 2020) What's the progress so far? Research continues today. Around 80 groups around the world have begun to carry out vaccine research and a number of them have entered the clinical trial stage. Experiments on humans were announced last month by scientists in Seattle, United States. This is very unusual because it skips animal experiments to test its effectiveness. Pharmaceutical companies Sanofi and GSK join forces to develop vaccines. Australian scientists begin testing two vaccines against animals. This is the most comprehensive step so far by testing animals. The researchers estimate human testing will be carried out at the end of April. Oxford University researchers schedule to produce one million doses of the vaccine at the end of September and begin testing in humans. But it is not yet known how effective these vaccines are. (BBC, 2020). Effective ways to protect you and others from COVID-19 are: • Wash hands regularly and thoroughly • Avoid touching the eyes, nose and mouth • Conduct ethics coughing and sneezing by covering the mouth and nose with folded elbows or tissues. If using a tissue, dispose of it immediately after use and wash your hands. • Keep a physical distance from others at least 1 meter (WHO, 2020). According to the statements above, I conclude that, believe the news provided by WHO or from trusted sources, do not trust people who are not trusted and there is no evidence. follow the protocol that was married by each
