This document outlines deficiencies in engineering projects in Kurdistan and proposes remedies. It discusses problems at the levels of engineering education, professional practice, construction industry/contractors, and government/policy. Specifically, it notes issues such as engineers lacking necessary capabilities after graduation; limited professional training; lack of regulatory bodies; construction firms having insufficient qualifications and staff; and absence of codes, data systems, and strategic planning in the sector. The document argues that improvements are needed in engineering preparation programs, project execution systems, and the role of professional organizations to strengthen the profession and quality of projects in Kurdistan.
