While gaining experience playing local events, they added member Karishma for vocals in 2012, taking on their current name The Mundanes. The article provides background on how each member joined the band and their rise to fame.

The document profiles up-and-coming musician Nicholas DeCruz, who gained popularity by posting cover songs on YouTube and now has a successful debut album. DeCruz discusses his musical influences like The Rolling Stones and Radiohead, and expresses surprise at his newfound fame, which he attributes to word of mouth and people enjoying "proper old-fashioned music." He maintains a positive view of all genres and says his goal is to have as much fun making music as his heroes seem to.
Sierra Banks has come a long way since her last interview in 2012. She seems much happier and more confident now. Her debut album is finally being released after three years away from the public eye working on herself. She is no longer in a relationship and is focused on her music career. Banks feels she has overcome obstacles that knocked her confidence previously and is embracing who she is as an artist.
The band The Mundanes started as a duo formed by Zak and Connor in 2010. Zak, who had studied music but took over his late uncle's engineering business, found solace in listening to Connor busking. Connor, who had been kicked out of school, worked as a manager at Waitrose to save money for music college. They bonded over their shared love of music. After inviting vocalist Karishma to join, they named themselves The Mundanes and began gaining popularity through local performances. Their dedication to music led to mainstream success.
Izzy Martin is a 19-year old musician from London who has found great success in her career over the past year. Though she started by playing guitar and writing songs in her small room, she is now performing for thousands around the world. In an interview, she discusses how she didn't expect to have such fame but is grateful for her fans and team who have supported her. Her music has been influenced by other artists like The 1975, Disclosure and Drake, as well as her experiences traveling and meeting new people. She is working on collaborations with Rudimental, Justin Bieber and Skrillex. Though fame brings challenges like stress, she finds ways to cope like spending time with family and listening to music.
Dan Kelly summarizes his life through 21 album covers that have been meaningful to him. The albums span genres from classical to country to rock and represent formative moments from his childhood to present. Key albums include The Lion King soundtrack, Van Morrison, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, The Band, Led Zeppelin, and Jason Isbell, all of which transport him to different memories and times. He concludes by saying Jason Isbell's music in particular has inspired his writing and brought him to tears.
- The document discusses the benefits of listening to classical music, including increased intelligence, stress relief, and improved language learning abilities. It argues classical music can tap into emotions and enhance imagination.
- Listening to Mozart's music can temporarily raise IQ scores. Studies also show classical music has similar anti-anxiety effects as Valium for heart patients.
- The neural connections formed when listening to classical music like Vivaldi prime the brain for learning new languages.
- Engaging fully with a classical piece from start to finish allows the music to convey reflections on human experiences like love, happiness, and sorrow.
This document is a magazine featuring various music-related articles and reviews. It includes summaries of new albums by The Black Keys and Slint. An interview with Damon Albarn covers his upcoming solo album, working with Noel Gallagher, and his fears. There is also an article about the 20th anniversary of Blur's album "Parklife" and an interview with Courtney Love about an upcoming Nirvana Hall of Fame induction and Hole reunion tour. Other articles profile Kate Bush ahead of her first tour in 35 years and discuss why Patti Smith is heading to Hollywood. The magazine also includes reviews of new music, guides to upcoming festivals, and lists of essential tracks and new bands to discover.
The document discusses a student's experience taking a Music Appreciation course where they felt they learned nothing relevant to their major from the class. While some advisors push students to take easy classes to fill requirements, the student found after taking the class that they did learn about music history and genres even if it didn't directly relate to their career in engineering. The student believes advisors should consider how relevant classes are to a student's major when recommending requirements.
This document provides information about an upcoming music event and related artists. It includes a concert tour schedule for an artist releasing a new album in March, with dates in several UK cities. It also previews some essential tracks on the new album and recommends subscribing to the publication for more music news and reviews.

The document discusses the author's love of music and their favorite bands. The author enjoys listening to a variety of music, especially pop music, and does not care if music is old or new. Their favorite band is The Libertines, which had a big influence on their life. The author also discusses their appreciation for The Beatles and how their music became more sophisticated over time. Music means nearly everything to the author and helps them forget problems.
The document discusses feedback received from an audience on a music video and two related promotional products. A questionnaire with 10 questions was used to collect quantitative data on views of the video, digipak, and magazine ad. Interviews provided more in-depth qualitative feedback. Based on the feedback, adjustments could be made to the questionnaire to collect demographic info like gender and age range. Conducting prior research on the target audience of the music genre helped in creating products to appeal to that demographic.
The combination of the music video, magazine advert, and digipak created for Maroon 5's song "Maps" is effective because they follow consistent brand guidelines. The guidelines include using the same font, color scheme, and incorporating lyric cards from the song. This creates a cohesive identity across all products. The magazine advert and digipak complement the music video by further promoting the album and song. Audience research was also conducted to ensure the video entertained the target demographic through various camera techniques that make the viewer feel like part of the experience.
The document shows a hand with many 'V' symbols drawn on it, advertising Maroon 5's album featuring the number one single "Maps". Below is credits for the album, listing Ryan Tedder, Benny Blanco, Noel Zancanella, and Ammar Malik as producers and lyricists. It also thanks friends, family, and their label for support in producing their fifth album.
The document describes three main problems encountered during the planning and production of a music video:
1) Coming up with an idea took until January 2015, though early planning allowed more focus on production. Inspiration came from two lyric videos with similar narratives.
2) Some video shots were too long at nearly 50 seconds, when typical music videos use shots of 5 seconds or less. The shots were chopped up and flipped to seem more frantic.
3) Exporting was initially prevented because After Effects was trying to save to a nonexistent disk cache. Relinking footage in Premiere after adjustments allowed successful exporting.
This document provides a shot list for a music video production. It includes 14 shots ranging from close-ups to wide angle shots, with details on the camera angles, focus of each shot, and timing. The shots show an actor finding lyric cards around a kitchen and living room, looking through photos on the floor while tearing them up and attempting to put them back together, all capturing different emotions on her face.
How did you use media technologies in the construction and research (4)ramsz001
Technology played a key role throughout the construction, research, planning, and evaluation stages of the student's coursework. A blog was used to upload work in various formats and allow for easy navigation and revision. Google, YouTube, and Wikipedia were heavily used for research. Surveys and social media enabled audience feedback. A DSLR camera was used to film footage, utilizing manual settings and lighting techniques. Adobe software like Premiere Pro and After Effects were used to edit footage and add stabilization. InDesign was used to design final packaged products consistently.
This document contains a rushes log for a music video production for the song "Maps" by Maroon 5. It lists 18 video clips documenting various shots of an actress interacting with photos, lyrics, and a scrapbook. Many of the clips were slowed down or had effects applied to match the pace of the song. The log describes the content and usage of each video clip in the production.
This shot list from Haydon Media contains details for a production including shot numbers, types of shots planned and timing information for each shot. It provides a breakdown of the visual elements and sequencing of shots needed to complete a project.
This document provides production details for a music video being filmed at various London locations. It discusses:
1) Filming at Haydon School which offers a variety of indoor locations like a green screen room and drama studio for different visual styles.
2) Obtaining helicopter footage over London and along the River Thames to depict themes of being lost and confusion.
3) Incorporating footage of a model reminiscing over photos with friends, shot at a friend's house and the school's drama studio for simplistic settings.
4) Facing some issues filming in London due to timing and winter light, so shooting more at the convenient and accessible locations available at the school.
Zoe Ramsdale-Clark discusses the role of digital technology and creativity in producing her foundation and advanced portfolios over two years. She used the internet for research, Adobe InDesign to design a music magazine, and Adobe Premiere and YouTube tutorials to edit her music video. A Canon DSLR camera was used to take photos for the magazine and film footage for the video, allowing creative decisions based on her target audience.
This document outlines the filming and editing schedule for a project from October through February. It details various planning tasks in October, multiple attempts at filming in November that were unsuccessful or needed retakes, and the importing and initial editing of footage in December. Further filming was done in January, and editing continued through February.
Zoe Ramsdale-Clark is producing a music video shoot that will take place on 29/01/15 and 05/02/15 after school in the drama studio/black box at Haydon School. The shoot will feature director and camera operator Zoe and actor Mary Medrana. Equipment needed includes a Canon 550D DSLR camera, steadicam, and lighting. The initial shoot will attempt to film the entire video or get enough footage to start editing. Additional filming was deemed necessary on 05/02/15 to reshoot some blurry shots and ensure enough footage is captured.
This document summarizes and analyzes the packaging and promotional materials for several music albums.
The first section examines digipaks for albums by Rihanna and Katy Perry. Both feature provocative images of the artists that may not be suitable for younger audiences, despite Perry appealing to wider demographics. Color schemes and imagery carry symbolic meanings that relate to the music.
The next section analyzes magazine advertisements. One for Stereophonics features a moody image reflecting their album's theme. Green Day's ad uses punk-inspired colors and imagery to promote their single from "American Idiot." Both ads effectively promote the artists and albums through consistent branding.
Overall, the document discusses how packaging
The Universal Music Group is the largest music producer in the world, headquartered in Santa Monica. It owns labels like Interscope, Capitol, and Republic and represents artists such as Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and U2. Sony Music Entertainment is an American music corporation owned by Sony Corporation of America, founded in 1929. It owns labels like Columbia, Epic, and RCA and artists include Justin Timberlake, Shakira, and Pitbull. Warner Music Group is also known as Warner Music, the largest American-owned music conglomerate worldwide, owning labels like Atlantic Records and representing artists such as Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran.
Codes and conventions in music videos are the techniques used to construct meaning and connect with audiences. There are two main types - technical techniques related to filming and editing, and symbolic techniques related to meaning conveyed by colors, costumes, etc. Common conventions include lip syncing, using bright colors in pop videos and darker tones in rock, narrative storylines that relate to lyrics, and authentic-looking solo or group performances. The visual director chooses shots, angles, and other elements suited to the genre, artist, and song.
The document outlines several props that will be used in a music video to convey a narrative of being lost and trying to find yourself. The props include:
1) A hooded coat, with the hood up at the beginning to conceal the person's identity and gradually being lowered throughout the video.
2) A scrapbook to show the character looking through past memories and photos to try and trigger recollections of who they used to be.
3) An iPhone to express the idea of the character trying to find directions by calling others or using maps, but finding barriers to doing so.
The props are intended to help portray the theme of self-discovery in a minimalistic way.

Xandria talks about Coldplay
Xandria talks about who inspires her
when it comes to writing songs.
They are musical geniuses!!
They’re the ultimate band; who
doesn’t know any of their songs?!!
surel;y if someone didn’t know
any of their songs they must have
been living under a rock.
They’re one of the bands i still
listen to even know...they’re my
childhood. They focus on their
music and that shows through
when you listen to their new
AND old albums.
oung Xandria played her first sold out show in The Mayflower pub in London four nights
ago. How was it? “An old French man came up to me,” the cordial Xandria recollects, “and
said he’d seen the Vaccines had perform a few days before I came along and said it was going
to happen for you too!”
That poshly spoken chap isn’t the only person falling Arse over elbow for Xandria. Unless
you’ve been hibernating under a rock, you have heard of her too. Most certainly via ‘Don’t
Come Running Back’ – the alternative rock anthem that has been leaking its way around the
net faster than Kim Kardashian’s bikini selfie, in addition to her most recent single ‘Wreck

If being named the preeminent innovative upcoming artist of the century wasn’t enough, everything has suggested that
her new single ‘Two Finger Salute’ could be something not even Lana Del Rey can write up herself, meanwhile Xandria’s European tour (sold out) have emphasised the impact Xandria is going to have on the music industry and its fans;
bringing rage, her cocky attitude and last
but not least her slamin’ bod that would
put Megan Fox to shame. “I’m surprised
the show did so well, feeling a bit like the
Female Justin Bieber of alternative music”
the outgoing Xandria reminisced while
she laughed sarcastically to herself, “I’m
kind of sh*tting myself if I’m going to be
frank, it’s a f**king huge crowd, not forgetting I’m going to be the only one on
stage...but it should be fun. I’m not one to
shy away from a challenge”.
Raised and brought up by a single parent,
Xandria has been brought up to stay
humble and down to earth, “I hate it when
celebrities talk about being ‘down to
earth’ when all they do is flash their cash
and pretend like nothing’s going on in
the world. I’d like to think that I’ll be able
to give back, even if I’m ‘famous’ or not;
my mum taught me a maxim that I live
by “the more you give the more you

giggled, letting us see that there’s more to
this ‘bad girl bravado she buts on, on stage,
“I’m a strong believer in karma...once I
went swimming with my friend and he fell
into the pool, and of course the lovely
girl I am, I started laughing at him; seconds later I was sinking in the pool, so I pretty much nearly drowned...KARMA!”.
Xandria’s sarcastic face brought forth the idea that she’s a bit of a practical joker.
Xandria is the best new artist in the UK, and thrown at her is a platinum record and what is known to be the best album
of this year! “I try to pay the least attention to all the hype about my music as possible,” Xandria shrugs, clearly not
focussed on the fame and the possible stampede of screaming Xandria fans that could possibly climb through the doors
and tear her limb from limb. “I’m more unaware of it now than ever, I don’t exactly search myself on the internet or
purposely listen to my songs on the radio when I know they’re playing my songs, the only time I hear about the hype is
when I talk to my mum and friends; mostly when I do interviews. I’m pretty astonished people like what I do, I get to do
what i love and do it as a job...what more could I ask for really.”
“I’m pretty tired -most people I know are tired- tired of having to wait three minutes to hear the chorus to a damn song!
Don’t get me wrong, there is so much great music out there believe me, I just feel as though people are getting stuck in
this never ending phase where lyrics don’t seem to matter at all; and of course there are those people who go along with
it and pretend they’re enjoying what they’re listening to...they’re just followers,” Xandria coincides. “I prefer to have
straight forward right in the middle music, but I feel like people are doing the exact reverse thing. And of course she’s
right, that’s an issue that has to be put out there.
Playing the guitar and piano, no wonder Xandria has got such an opinion about music; at five Xandria’s mum nudged
her to learn to play instruments, “She said she wanted me to express myself through music; I was a vocal child, I suppose
I still am.” Xandira admits light-heartedly as she notices the near to rant she nearly gave us when expressing her view on
today’s modernised music scene.
“I’m friends with the Vaccines you know; they are so funny. I’m pretty close to Justin, he tends to be as opinionated and
as funny as I am; I’m not trying to sound big headed by calling myself funny by the way” Xandria laughed anxiously
as she thought over what she just said, she continued saying “Justin plays the guitar just like I do, we tend to have a
jam session and get into our music; the room is always silent when we play our music. Somehow everyone seems to be
entranced in our guitar playing. Me and Justin tend to make up random songs that sometimes don’t even make sense”
Xandria giggled to herself. “The other boys are just so funny, I went with them around Europe because I was their
opening act…they pretty much pranked each other nearly every single day I was with them.”
We asked Xandria how long she thought she would be doing music for.
“i don’t see myself doing music for the rest of my life, but i certainly enjoy it; it’s my life passion and i cant see myself
ever doing anything different with my life. I don’t call what I do a job, the fact that I get to do what I love for a very long
time makes everything worthwhile; the pay isn’t that bad either.” She laughed sarcastically as she continued, “I’d like
to think I’ll be doing and making music for about 25 years. I don’t think anyone will want to listen to my music when
I’m like 50, who knows what kind of music will be popular then or what music I’ll be interested in, I guess if I build a

radio when I know they’re playing my
songs, the only time I hear about the
hype is when I talk to my mum and
friends; mostly when I do interviews.
I’m pretty astonished people like what
I do, I get to do what i love and do it
as a job...what more could I ask for
really.”

“I’m pretty tired -most people I know
are tired- tired of having to wait three
minutes to hear the chorus to a damn
song! Don’t get me wrong, there is so
much great music out there believe
me, I just feel as though people are
getting stuck in this never ending
phase where lyrics don’t seem to
matter at all; and of course there are
those people who go along with it and
pretend they’re enjoying what they’re
listening to...they’re just followers,”
Xandria coincides. “I prefer to have
straight forward right in the middle
music, but I feel like people are doing
the exact reverse thing. And of course
she’s right, that’s an issue that has to
be put out there.
Playing the guitar and piano, no wonder Xandria has got such an opinion
about music; at five Xandria’s mum
nudged her to learn to play instruments, “She said she wanted me to
express myself through music; I was
a vocal child, I suppose I still am.”
Xandira admits light-heartedly as she
notices the near to rant she nearly
gave us when expressing her view on
today’s modernised music scene.
“I’m friends with the Vaccines you
know; they are so funny. I’m pretty
close to Justin, he tends to be as opinionated and as funny as I am; I’m not
trying to sound big headed by calling

myself funny by the way” Xandria
laughed anxiously as she thought
over what she just said, she continued
saying “Justin plays the guitar just like
I do, we tend to have a jam session
and get into our music; the room is
always silent when we play our music.

Somehow everyone seems to be
entranced in our guitar playing.
Me and Justin tend to make up
random songs that sometimes
don’t even make sense” Xandria
giggled to herself. “The other
boys are just so funny, I went
5. “Don’t waste your
time or time
will waste you.”
