FADE IN:
SCENE 1 - INT. MOLLY’S AND IAN’S HOUSE. DAY.
An average sized semi-detached house set in a quiet street
in an affluent area. The inside of the house is clean, and
the furniture is fairly new and modern. MOLLY, a pretty
woman in her 20’s who is wearing comfy clothes, is seen
walking into the kitchen and making a cup of tea. She then
sits down and turns the TV on to BBC news and turns the
volume up.
NEWS PRESENTER
(Volume increasing) Good evening, two
people have died in what the Metropolitan
Police are describing as a terrorist
incident on London Bridge, the attacker
was later shot dead—
Ian, an active army solider in his late 20s, comes
down the stairs in his army uniform and has a
camouflaged Bergen on his shoulder. He then places
the bag by the door and goes into the living room
where MOLLY IS. Ian sits down in the living room on
the sofa next to MOLLY and puts his arm around her.
MOLLY turns the TV down to talk to IAN and leans
into him.
MOLLY
(Speaking to IAN) What time is the taxi
coming?
IAN
In the next couple minutes, I think.
MOLLY
How long will you be gone?
IAN
(Sighs)Look it shouldn’t be long but in
the next few months hopefully. Stop
worrying about me and I’ll be home before
you know it.

There is a beep of a taxi horn outside in the background
and Ian kisses MOLLY on the head before standing up.
IAN
Right, I better be off.
Molly stands up and quickly hugs IAN before he can go.
MOLLY
(Upset)I love you Ian.
IAN
I love you to.
MOLLY lets go of IAN and they briefly look each
other in the eye and smile. IAN picks up his bag and
heads into the taxi while MOLLY watches him from the
door. They smile and wave goodbye to each other.

FADE OUT:
FADE IN:
SCENE 2: EXT. MOLLY’S AND IAN’S HOUSE. DAY
(TEXT ON SCREEN)’5 MONTHS LATER’
IAN returns from his deployment with the army in a taxi 5
months later to their house. MOLLY has been waiting
patiently for IAN at the downstairs window of the house. As
the taxi pulls up, she rushes out the door to meet him.
As IAN gets out the taxi MOLLY jumps into his arms and hugs
him tight. IAN has little emotion on his face and is
neutral.
MOLLY
(Almost crying) I’ve missed you so much
IAN.
IAN
(Disinterested) I missed you to.

IAN ends the hug and puts MOLLY down and closes the taxi
door. The taxi drives off and MOLLY and IAN head inside
while MOLLY tries to hold IAN’S hand. They enter the house
and MOLLY closes the door behind them.
MOLLY
So, can I get you anything to drink then
love?
IAN
(Fed up) No.
MOLLY
(Confused) You sure?
IAN
(Giving in) I mean… a cup of tea would be
nice, I guess.
MOLLY
Of course… What’s up? Did I say something?
IAN
No, I have just had a long day.
MOLLY
Alright Ian… I’m putting on a wash now so
go grab your stuff and I’ll put it in with
mine.
Ian’s nods his head in agreement and Molly walks off
slightly disheartened leaving IAN in the entrance hall.
Ian, who looks very lost within himself, decides to head up
stairs with his bag to un-pack. He slowly opens the door to
the bedroom and walks in curiously.
He places his bag next to his bed and kneels down and
starts to un-pack it. As he is unpacking, he comes across
one shirt that has a blood stain.

Begin Flashback:
Scene 3: INT. MOLLY’S AND IAN’S BEDROOM. DAY
The camera is looking from Ian’s point of view of him
running in the battlefield with a gun in his hands. There
is shouting in the background and Ian passes a dead body
while running and takes a second to look at it. He then
quickly turns his head and watches his friend shoot an
enemy point blank. He looks at the body and the blood
pouring out the dead man.
(We hear footsteps and (MOLLY) hear a quiet voice in the
background calling for IAN.)
MOLLY
(Quietly in the background) Ian?...Ian you
okay...Ian?!
End of flashback.
Scene 4: INT. MOLLY’S AND IAN’S BEDROOM. DAY
IAN suddenly comes out of his flashback and aggressively
turns around and shoves MOLLY up against the wall.
IAN
(Very aggressively) Who the fuck do you
think you are walking in on me like that?!
MOLLY
(Crying with fear) I don’t know I’m sorry!
Please don’t hurt me!
IAN
(Pushing her out the room) JUST GET OUT!
GET OUT!!
IAN slams the door closed and MOLLY is left in awe with
tears running down her face frozen in fear. MOLLY runs into
the bathroom, locks the door, and breaks down.

Scene 5: INT. IAN’S AND MOLLY’S LIVING ROOM. DAY
MOLLY is sat downstairs on the couch looking very upset and
scared about talking to IAN. She has a red scratch marks on
her neck. IAN walks down the stairs into the living room.
IAN walks into the room and stands directly in front of
MOLLY. IAN then lifts her chin up and makes her look into
his eyes.
IAN
If you ever repeat to anyone what
happened, you will regret it. Do you
understand me?
MOLLY doesn’t reply and IAN becomes more aggressive.
IAN
(Gripping her tighter) DO YOU UNDERSTAND
ME?!
MOLLY quickly nods her head in agreement and turns her head
away from IAN. IAN walks off into the kitchen and we see
MOLLY sheds a tear.
FADE OUT:
Scene 6: INT. IAN’S AND MOLLY’S BEDROOM. NIGHT (2 day
later)
IAN is sleeping in bed and MOLLY walks into the room and
gets into the bed to sleep cautiously. Some time then
passes and MOLLY is awoken by IAN talking in his sleep. We
then see IAN tossing and turning in his sleep.
We then hear in the background, MOLLY trying to wake IAN up
to tell him everything will be alright. IAN is suddenly
awoken. He then gets up and strangles MOLLY very
aggressively.
IAN
(Strangling Molly) I told you not to
fucking do that! You stupid bitch!

MOLLY is struggling to get a breath and is trying to stop
IAN doing what he is doing. He then let’s go and gets out
of bed and leaves the room.
Scene 7: INT. IAN’S AND MOLLY’S HOUSE. NIGHT
IAN finds some clothes in the spare room to put on and goes
downstairs and puts his shoes on. He then takes all the
keys, opens the door and locks it behind him. He gets in
his car and heads to the pub.
We see a series of shots of IAN drinking in the pub over
time leaving MOLLY locked up at home. Ian is wearing new
clothes on each shot. MOLLY is at home crying most nights
IAN is out and she has bruises on her face. MOLLY is seen
to be struggling to want to live.
Scene 8: EXT. ENGLISH PUB. NIGHT
One-night IAN is walking out the pub, he see JOE and KAT, a
happy couple, laughing and kissing enjoying themselves. He
overhears their conversation.
JOE
(quietly in the distance) Can I just say
Kat, you are the best person to ever walk
into my life and I will be forever
grateful for that. Don’t ever change.
KAT
(smiling at Joe) Awwwee! I love you.
(KAT and JOE then kiss)
JOE
I know we have been through our rough
patches but I’m glad we could make this
work again.
(they then kiss again)
The couple then walk off holding hands into the distance
holding hands.

IAN is somewhat changed by this and decides to head to the
shops to buy MOLLY some flowers and a bottle of wine to
make amend and start again. Once buying it he heads back to
his car and drives home excited to see MOLLY and to start
fresh with her.
Scene 9: INT. IANS AND MOLLY’S HOUSE. NIGHT
MOLLY is sat on the edge of her bed crying looking a
picture of her and IAN. MOLLY then starts to get very upset
and angry at IAN.
MOLLY breaks down and throws the picture across the room.
She then wipes her tears away and stands up and walks
downstairs to the kitchen. The only light in the house that
is on, is her bedroom light. MOLLY turns on the kettle
while crying. She notices the cleaning cupboard is slightly
open.
MOLLY opens the cleaning cupboard and picks out a bottle of
bleach. She stares at the bottle and wipes away her tears.
MOLLY walks back to her bedroom, passing a picture of her
and IAN, and closes the door behind her turning the bedroom
light off.
Fade out:
Scene 10: INT. MOLLY’S AND IAN’S HOUSE. NIGHT
IAN pulls into the driveway and notices there is no lights
in the house that are on. He gets out the car and goes into
the house turning the downstairs lights on.
IAN
(shouting) Molly I’m home. Molly where are
you? I have a gift for you.
IAN takes off his coat and places it on the coat rack. He
then hear the kettle go off and walks into the kitchen. He
notices the cleaning cupboard is open and is confused. He
closes it and heads up stairs.
IAN
(walking up the stairs looking for MOLLY)
Molly I’ve decided that I’m going to give
this relationship a real go now. I’m sorry
I haven’t been the best boyfriend and I
want to try me and you again.

IAN gets to the top of the stairs and notices the only door
closed is his bedroom.
IAN
Molly are you there?
IAN
(concerned) Molly?
IAN cautiously opens his bedroom door and turns the light
on. IAN is shocked by what he finds and drops the wine and
the flowers on the floor and the bottle breaks.

  • 2. 2 FADE IN: SCENE 1 - INT. MOLLY’S AND IAN’S HOUSE. DAY. An average sized semi-detached house set in a quiet street in an affluent area. The inside of the house is clean, and the furniture is fairly new and modern. MOLLY, a pretty woman in her 20’s who is wearing comfy clothes, is seen walking into the kitchen and making a cup of tea. She then sits down and turns the TV on to BBC news and turns the volume up. NEWS PRESENTER (Volume increasing) Good evening, two people have died in what the Metropolitan Police are describing as a terrorist incident on London Bridge, the attacker was later shot dead— Ian, an active army solider in his late 20s, comes down the stairs in his army uniform and has a camouflaged Bergen on his shoulder. He then places the bag by the door and goes into the living room where MOLLY IS. Ian sits down in the living room on the sofa next to MOLLY and puts his arm around her. MOLLY turns the TV down to talk to IAN and leans into him. MOLLY (Speaking to IAN) What time is the taxi coming? IAN In the next couple minutes, I think. MOLLY How long will you be gone? IAN (Sighs)Look it shouldn’t be long but in the next few months hopefully. Stop worrying about me and I’ll be home before you know it. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13
  • 3. 3 There is a beep of a taxi horn outside in the background and Ian kisses MOLLY on the head before standing up. IAN Right, I better be off. Molly stands up and quickly hugs IAN before he can go. MOLLY (Upset)I love you Ian. IAN I love you to. MOLLY lets go of IAN and they briefly look each other in the eye and smile. IAN picks up his bag and heads into the taxi while MOLLY watches him from the door. They smile and wave goodbye to each other. Title: ‘Un-Heard’ FADE OUT: FADE IN: SCENE 2: EXT. MOLLY’S AND IAN’S HOUSE. DAY (TEXT ON SCREEN)’5 MONTHS LATER’ IAN returns from his deployment with the army in a taxi 5 months later to their house. MOLLY has been waiting patiently for IAN at the downstairs window of the house. As the taxi pulls up, she rushes out the door to meet him. As IAN gets out the taxi MOLLY jumps into his arms and hugs him tight. IAN has little emotion on his face and is neutral. MOLLY (Almost crying) I’ve missed you so much IAN.   • 4. 4 IAN ends the hug and puts MOLLY down and closes the taxi door. The taxi drives off and MOLLY and IAN head inside while MOLLY tries to hold IAN’S hand. They enter the house and MOLLY closes the door behind them. MOLLY So, can I get you anything to drink then love? IAN (Fed up) No. MOLLY (Confused) You sure? IAN (Giving in) I mean… a cup of tea would be nice, I guess. MOLLY Of course… What’s up? Did I say something? IAN No, I have just had a long day. MOLLY Alright Ian… I’m putting on a wash now so go grab your stuff and I’ll put it in with mine. Ian’s nods his head in agreement and Molly walks off slightly disheartened leaving IAN in the entrance hall. Ian, who looks very lost within himself, decides to head up stairs with his bag to un-pack. He slowly opens the door to the bedroom and walks in curiously. He places his bag next to his bed and kneels down and starts to un-pack it. As he is unpacking, he comes across one shirt that has a blood stain. 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39
  • 5. 5 Begin Flashback: Scene 3: INT. MOLLY’S AND IAN’S BEDROOM. DAY The camera is looking from Ian’s point of view of him running in the battlefield with a gun in his hands. There is shouting in the background and Ian passes a dead body while running and takes a second to look at it. He then quickly turns his head and watches his friend shoot an enemy point blank. He looks at the body and the blood pouring out the dead man. (We hear footsteps and (MOLLY) hear a quiet voice in the background calling for IAN.) MOLLY (Quietly in the background) Ian?...Ian you okay...Ian?! End of flashback. Scene 4: INT. MOLLY’S AND IAN’S BEDROOM. DAY IAN suddenly comes out of his flashback and aggressively turns around and shoves MOLLY up against the wall. IAN (Very aggressively) Who the fuck do you think you are walking in on me like that?! MOLLY (Crying with fear) I don’t know I’m sorry! Please don’t hurt me! IAN (Pushing her out the room) JUST GET OUT! GET OUT!! IAN slams the door closed and MOLLY is left in awe with tears running down her face frozen in fear. MOLLY runs into the bathroom, locks the door, and breaks down. FADE OUT: 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48
  • 6. 6 Scene 5: INT. IAN’S AND MOLLY’S LIVING ROOM. DAY MOLLY is sat downstairs on the couch looking very upset and scared about talking to IAN. She has a red scratch marks on her neck. IAN walks down the stairs into the living room. IAN walks into the room and stands directly in front of MOLLY. IAN then lifts her chin up and makes her look into his eyes. IAN If you ever repeat to anyone what happened, you will regret it. Do you understand me? MOLLY doesn’t reply and IAN becomes more aggressive. IAN (Gripping her tighter) DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?! MOLLY quickly nods her head in agreement and turns her head away from IAN. IAN walks off into the kitchen and we see MOLLY sheds a tear. FADE OUT: Scene 6: INT. IAN’S AND MOLLY’S BEDROOM. NIGHT (2 day later) IAN is sleeping in bed and MOLLY walks into the room and gets into the bed to sleep cautiously. Some time then passes and MOLLY is awoken by IAN talking in his sleep. We then see IAN tossing and turning in his sleep. We then hear in the background, MOLLY trying to wake IAN up to tell him everything will be alright. IAN is suddenly awoken. He then gets up and strangles MOLLY very aggressively. IAN (Strangling Molly) I told you not to fucking do that! You stupid bitch! 49 50 51 52 53 54 55 56 57 58 59 60 61 62
  • 7. 7 MOLLY is struggling to get a breath and is trying to stop IAN doing what he is doing. He then let’s go and gets out of bed and leaves the room. Scene 7: INT. IAN’S AND MOLLY’S HOUSE. NIGHT IAN finds some clothes in the spare room to put on and goes downstairs and puts his shoes on. He then takes all the keys, opens the door and locks it behind him. He gets in his car and heads to the pub. We see a series of shots of IAN drinking in the pub over time leaving MOLLY locked up at home. Ian is wearing new clothes on each shot. MOLLY is at home crying most nights IAN is out and she has bruises on her face. MOLLY is seen to be struggling to want to live. Scene 8: EXT. ENGLISH PUB. NIGHT One-night IAN is walking out the pub, he see JOE and KAT, a happy couple, laughing and kissing enjoying themselves. He overhears their conversation. JOE (quietly in the distance) Can I just say Kat, you are the best person to ever walk into my life and I will be forever grateful for that. Don’t ever change. KAT (smiling at Joe) Awwwee! I love you. (KAT and JOE then kiss) JOE I know we have been through our rough patches but I’m glad we could make this work again.   • 8. 8 IAN is somewhat changed by this and decides to head to the shops to buy MOLLY some flowers and a bottle of wine to make amend and start again. Once buying it he heads back to his car and drives home excited to see MOLLY and to start fresh with her. Scene 9: INT. IANS AND MOLLY’S HOUSE. NIGHT MOLLY is sat on the edge of her bed crying looking a picture of her and IAN. MOLLY then starts to get very upset and angry at IAN. MOLLY breaks down and throws the picture across the room. She then wipes her tears away and stands up and walks downstairs to the kitchen. The only light in the house that is on, is her bedroom light. MOLLY turns on the kettle while crying. She notices the cleaning cupboard is slightly open. MOLLY opens the cleaning cupboard and picks out a bottle of bleach. She stares at the bottle and wipes away her tears. MOLLY walks back to her bedroom, passing a picture of her and IAN, and closes the door behind her turning the bedroom light off. Fade out: Scene 10: INT. MOLLY’S AND IAN’S HOUSE. NIGHT IAN pulls into the driveway and notices there is no lights in the house that are on. He gets out the car and goes into the house turning the downstairs lights on. IAN (shouting) Molly I’m home. Molly where are you? I have a gift for you. IAN takes off his coat and places it on the coat rack. He then hear the kettle go off and walks into the kitchen. He notices the cleaning cupboard is open and is confused. He closes it and heads up stairs. IAN (walking up the stairs looking for MOLLY) Molly I’ve decided that I’m going to give this relationship a real go now.   • 9. 9 IAN gets to the top of the stairs and notices the only door closed is his bedroom. IAN Molly are you there? IAN (concerned) Molly? IAN cautiously opens his bedroom door and turns the light on.
