This document outlines the key roles and processes involved in film production. It discusses the three main stages: pre-production (planning, casting, budgeting, script-writing, design), production (filming), and post-production (editing, adding sound/music). It focuses on the role of the producer, who is responsible for securing financing, hiring crew, overseeing spending, finding locations, and overseeing casting. Students are then asked to work in groups to come up with an idea for their own film by writing a treatment that pitches the inspiration, storyline, actors, and location to potential financiers.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

A producer can either work independently, developing ideas and raising money
for a film, or they can work as part of a studio, proposing projects to the
studios finance team…
7. Inspiration/ idea for a film:
Inspiration can be gained from eg historical events, biographies, comic
books, TV series, true stories, novels
Where did the
ideas for these
films come from?
8. Casting (choosing actors/ actresses
for your film)
After being inspired and thinking of an idea for your film the next thing to do is
write a treatment/ pitch for financiers. This treatment must also include
actors.
9. Financiers
The producer needs money to make the film £££ $$$.
The producer will then pitch their idea to financiers.
Financiers will decide whether to fund the film. If they go
ahead the film has been given the GREEN LIGHT
10. Once money has been secured the producers next task is to
